Glen Whelan refutes allegation that Stoke City are a dirty team
Midfielder claims Potters will continue to 'give their all'
By Alan Dawson
Ramsey suffered a double leg fracture as a result of the tackle; yet despite the seriousness of the injury, the Potters will not dilute their commitment.
"We are not a team of dirty players," Whelan is reported to have said by The News of the World. "Obviously, we have got hard men who always give 100 per cent and that's not going to change. But I don't think Ryan's tackle on Aaron Ramsey was dirty - late yes, but not malicious.
"He was crying afterwards which shows he didn't mean it," Whelan added.
"We just hope Aaron will get back as soon as possible because he is a talented, young player. Mr Wenger has his own opinions and he's entitled to them, but if you ask any of the pundits who have seen the tackle, they all have a different view.
"I think Wenger is feeling a little aggrieved because of what has happened over the last couple of years with Eduardo and things like that.
"As for us, we will continue to go into every match, every tackle, giving our all."
