Royals boss delighted despite relinquishing two-goal lead

Reading manager Brian McDermott spoke of his immense pride after watching his side bow out of the FA Cup at the hands of Aston Villa.
The Royals were unable to overcome the Premier League top four candidates after an impressive run had seen them eliminate the likes of Liverpool and West Bromwich Albion.
The Championship side had been two goals ahead in the first half as Shane Long bagged a brace before John Carew helped Villa to a 4-2 victory, but McDermott remained upbeat.
"If you are going to lose a game, that is how you lose it," he said, according to BBC Sport.
"We played really well in the first half and knew if we could keep it tight for 15 minutes in the second half we'd have a chance but that didn't happen.
"But I am proud of every single one of our players and it is just a shame we couldn't get through for our fans."
Reading must now focus their full attention on Championship survival, as they currently sit 18th in the table, just a point above the bottom three but with two games in hand on a host of their rivals, including 22nd-placed Sheffield Wednesday.
