Hull City manager Phil Brown questioned his side’s spirit after watching the Tigers collapse to a 5-1 defeat against Everton.

“The [team] spirit was questioned in the second half,” he told Sky Sports.

“As far as I’m concerned we can’t allow anyone to chuck the towel in.”

Hull were still in the game at half-time despite being 2-1 behind but Everton turned on the style in the second half to score three goals without reply.

Brown added: “We came up against a well organised strong Everton side.

“But in the second half we left our game in the changing room.”

The Tigers are currently in the bottom three and have ten games to lift themselves out the relegation zone.

“We have 10 big games coming up,” Brown said.

“We have got Arsenal next but then some winnable games. We need to address our situation against sides in and around us.

“I’m not looking for fancy football; we’re looking for people to get into peoples faces which we didn’t do today.

“There are a lot of lessons to be learned from today; hopefully we’ll see a better performance at the KC [stadium] against Arsenal.”
