Robbie Keane bagged a brace as Celtic strolled past Falkirk to trim their Old Firm rivals Rangers' lead at the top of the Scottish Premier League to 10 points.

Home goalkeeper Robert Olejink had twice foiled the Tottenham Hotspur loanee before he drilled a low shot in on 34 minutes, after being teed-up by Morten Rasmussen.

Falkirk passed up several decent chances, with giant striker Enoch Showunmi heading over Scott Arfield's cross, before Vitor Lima fired wide from the edge of the box.

However, after Georgios Samaras flashed a chance wide on the hour mark, Keane sealed victory for the Hoops with his second on 79 minutes to lift the Parkhead club back to within 10-points of the SPL summit.

Although Rangers look set to romp away with their second successive title, especially as they still have a game in hand, the SPL crown is still a slimline possibility for Celtic.

Tony Mowbray's side had only drawn twice with the Bairns earlier in the season and will be pleased to have avoided another potential embarrassment thanks to Keane.

The Republic of Ireland international striker is reportedly on £65,000 a week at Celtic, but showed his class in a scrappy second-half to earn the visitors all three points.
