Comeback shows team spirit says winger...

Ashley Young hailed Aston Villa's second half performance after Martin O'Neill's men fought back from two goals down to beat Reading 4-2 and book their spot in the semi-finals of the FA Cup.

A brace from Reading's Shane Long was cancelled out in the second period by a Young strike before a John Carew hat-trick sealed victory and ended Brian McDermott's cup run.

Speaking to ITV Sport after the game, Young, whose first goal straight after the interval was crucial said: "Our first-half performance was not as good as it could be and he [Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill] told us about that.

"We knew we had a job to do in the second half and you only have to look at the response we put in in the second half. It shows the team spirit and the character we have got.

"We said we had to start brightly as soon as we got out there and we got an early goal to put them on the back foot."

Aston Villa's victory has set up another trip to Wembley for the semi-finals, following last Sunday League Cup defeat to Manchester United.
