Everton express interest in Sporting Lisbon pair Joao Moutinho & Yannick Djalo
Toffees could add to squad in summer
By Alan Dawson
Everton have confirmed that they are on the look-out for good players to add to their squad in the summer, and Sporting Lisbon pair Joao Moutinho and Yannick Djalo are two commodities that interest Toffees manager David Moyes.
Recently the Merseyside outfit were soundly defeated by the Portugal Super Liga side, by a convincing 4-2 aggregate scoreline, and Moyes was again able to get a close look at Moutinho - a player whom he has been tracking for a considerable period of time.
"We are always looking for good players and we have seen several times how good Moutinho is," Robert Elstone, Everton's chief executive, is reported to have said in A Bola.
The admiration for the player is not restricted to Moyes, as Elstone added: "I was at the press conference when Phil Neville highlighted Moutinho's quality - and we are always looking to strengthen, so who knows?"
On Djalo, he continued: "Of course I know him. It is absolutely clear that he is a good player."-
