Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger was heavily critical of referee Martin Hansson's decision to let Porto take a free-kick quickly that led to their second goal in the Champions League last 16 first leg.

Lukasz Fabianski picked up a backpass from defender Sol Campbell which led to the indirect free kick.

Porto's Ruben Micael took it quickly and set up Falcao, who tapped the ball past the confused Arsenal stopper.

Wenger was furious with the decision to let the goal stand.

"You cannot let the players play like that," he told ITV.

"You can never defend an indirect free-kick like that.. the referee should have given us time to get a wall."

Wenger confronted the referee after the goal but revealed he did not get an explanation from him as to why the goal had been given.

"I do not know, he did not tell me," he added. "You should ask him."

But the Frenchman refused to say if he felt cheated at what had happened.

"I do not want to go into big stories about that...I do not understand his decision."
