Carlton Cole is convinced his new West Ham United strike partner Mido will be a revelation at Upton Park as soon as he scores his first goal for the club.

The England international grabbed his eighth goal of the campaign in last Wednesday's 2-0 victory over Birmingham City, and is sure his Egyptian team-mate will follow him onto the score-sheet sooner rather than later.

“Everyone knows the quality Mido has got. There has never been a question about his ability. He said to the press that he feels he has got something to prove and fair play to him,” Cole told West Ham United TV.

“He has come here, shown a great attitude, got in and amongst the lads and wants to be a part of what we're about. I'm so happy for him and I can't wait to celebrate his first goal because he deserves it.”

Mido arrived at the troubled Hammers in January on loan from Middlesbrough and has featured against Burnley and Birmingham.

Cole already feels he's forged an encouraging relationship with the former Wigan Athletic and Tottenham Hotspur target man, and is confident their goals can fire the club away from the danger zone.

West Ham host fellow strugglers Hull City next weekend, followed by a trip to Manchester United.
