Porto's Bruno Alves gunning for Arsenal's Cesc Fabregas
Portuguese champions must 'negate' Spaniard to triumph in Champions League...
By Michael Landon
Porto defender Bruno Alves says his side will be targeting Cesc Fabregas when they take on Arsenal in the Champions League on Wednesday.
The two sides collide at the Estadio do Dragao for the round of 16 knockout tie and Alves believes shackling Fabregas and preventing the maestro from influencing the clash will severely hinder the north Londoners' chances.
The 28-year-old has urged his team-mates to stop the Gunners skipper in his tracks as his side look to take an advantage to the Emirates for the second leg on March 9.
He told the News of the World: "It's Cesc Fabregas who stands out for his quality, his attacking play, the way he imposes his tempo.
"He is, without doubt, Arsenal's most valuable player. So we have to negate him."
