Louis Saha's decision to sign a two-year extension to his Everton contract has elated skipper Phil Neville, who speaks highly of the French hitman's dedication to training, as well as his ability to "pull something out of the bag".

"From the very first day he came to the club he [Louis Saha] has found a place where he loves playing football, the spirit and togetherness he has found really good and the manager has been brilliant with him," Neville explained to the club's official website.

"At times he [David Moyes] has allowed him to do his own training because of his problems, but he completed a full pre-season in the summer and has not missed a days training.

"He is our talisman, the one when you are looking for someone to pull something out of the bag, something special then he can do that."

Saha, a scorer of 15 goals in 28 appearances in all competitions this season, struck twice to help the Toffees defeat Chelsea earlier this week.

Neville believes his performance epitomised the player's importance to the team, adding: "It was a special second goal and most forwards would try and head that but he has the quality where he can bring it down on his chest and bang, fire it in the goal.

"If you are a centre-back in the Premier League then Louis is up there with Fernando Torres and Didier Drogba as one of the strikers you do not want to face.”
