Mick McCarthy believes victory over Tottenham shows Wolves can compete with the big boys
Molineux manager confident his side can avoid relegation
By David Kifford
A hard working display from Wolves saw them dominate the early proceedings of the game and eventually take the lead through David Jones' strike midway through the first half.
The result means Wolves complete the double over the North London side and raises them to 15th in the Premier League.
McCarthy believes his side have proven they can take points off teams at the top of the table and is confident they can repeat the trick.
The Molineux boss told BBC Sport: "Teamwork was the key, the lads worked hard and deserved that victory.
"David Jones is a Premier League player and he proved that tonight. It's been proved throughout the season you can get points off the big boys. Who's to say we can't get points off Chelsea and Manchester United."
Wolves face a tough run of games in the coming weeks with relegation six-pointers against Burnley and Bolton sandwiched in between matches against Chelsea, Manchester United and Aston Villa.
