Hull City manager Phil Brown is set to welcome Jimmy Bullard back into the squad as his recovery from the knee injury he suffered in December nears completion. The midfielder is expected to be fit enough to face West Ham United on Saturday February 20.

"He's getting very, very close," Brown explained to Press Association Sport. "You don't want him to do too much too soon.

"Jimmy's the sort of character who wants that and it's difficult once he's loose to keep the reins on him. I can't wait to let the reins go."

Meanwhile, Brown also feels that young hitman Jozy Altidore will be able to get the best out of Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink.

"Jan's unproven at Premier League level.

"It's always another step up coming to the Premier League in England, I think - and Jan's stepped up to that plate quite admirably.

"Now he's got a young man bustling and hustling alongside him, the both of them are causing centre-halves problems; therein lies the success."
