By Matthew Harold
"We know that Danny’s capable of that; he showed that in the Championship were he was one of the best players about," he told Sky Sports.
"That’s why we courted him. Danny’s come in, he’s had a terrific debut, he’s not played in a while. It was a terrific free kick, a terrific goal and he’s had a great debut.
"It [winning] was a great relief, we’ve been waiting a while for it. The players, the supporters, the football club have been waiting a while for it cos it’s been a long time coming.
"We’re going to take a lot of positives from that, even though it was a very nerve-racking end to the game."
The result takes Burnley out of the dropzone and into 15th place, as they look to put distance between themselves and their vistors West Ham, who replace them in the bottom three.
