Arsenal’s Andrey Arshavin keeps his Premier League title dream alive
Diminutive Russian won’t stop believing...
By Tony Corbin
The diminutive Russian hopes the north London club’s position will have improved after Sunday’s match at Chelsea and the midweek visit of Liverpool to the Emirates.
“I still believe [that Arsenal can win the Premier League], but the recent games are making it more difficult for my dreams to come true,” the 28-year-old told thesportreview.com.
“After the Chelsea and Liverpool games the situation will become clearer,” he added.
Having been at Arsenal for 12-months, Arshavin now feels he has adapted to English football and is happy at the club, although he'd really like to get his hands on some silverware.
He continued:“My adaptation to English football has been okay more or less, but I want to win something.”
During last week’s crushing defeat to the champions some thought Arshavin should have twice passed to Samir Nasri, who cut a frustrated figure in the opposition area.
However, there doesn’t appear to be any lingering tension between the pair as the Russia international says the Nasri is one of his closest friends at the club.
“I’m on good terms with everybody in the team, but perhaps I’m closer to Cesc [Fabregas], Samir [Nasri] and Nicklas [Bendtner],” he said.
