Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has won the Premier League's Player of the Month award for January, while Everton boss David Moyes has scooped the Manager of the Month accolade.

England international Rooney has been in inspired form of late, notching an impressive six goals during the first month of 2010, scoring all four goals in a win over Hull City, one against Burnley and capping off an excellent performance against Arsenal with a strike in the process.

The England international was also awarded the Golden Boot Landmark award for being the first striker to reach 20 goals this season.

Everton's turn in fortunes has been noted meanwhile as Moyes claimed the top managerial honours for January.

The Toffees took strides away from the relegation zone as they spent the month unbeaten, starting with a 2-2 draw against Arsenal at the Emirates, which would have been a win were it not for a deflected Tomas Rosicky strike in the closing stages of the game.

Everton have since enjoyed victories over Manchester City, Sunderland and Wigan Athletic and are now unbeaten in nine games.

Moyes' men are now sitting comfortably in ninth place in the league table, while the Red Devils are firmly in the hunt for the title just two points behind leaders Chelsea.
