Carlton Cole relishing new strike partnership with Benni McCarthy at West Ham
Marksman eager to pair up with new hitman...
By Niall McGlone
McCarthy joined the Hammers in the January transfer window from Blackburn Rovers on a two-and-half-year deal and Cole is keen to play with the South African international.
"I'm looking forward to playing with Benni," said Cole.
"I'm very happy that he's joined us and it can only be a good thing for the club. He's a quality player and very experienced as well.
"For me, as well, I can learn from him and pick his brains about how he does things. I just can't wait to start training with him properly."
Cole has hit seven goals in 15 Premier League games so far this season but has been riddled with injuries that have ruled him out for large parts of the campaign.
McCarthy notched 10 goals in all competitions for Blackburn Rovers this season and a strike pairing of Cole and McCarthy will no doubt delight West Ham boss Gianfranco Zola as his side strive to avoid relegation.
