Fulham boss Roy Hodgson bemoans 'worst ever' injury crisis
Gaffer shocked at Cottagers' crock list...
Roy Hodgson has admitted that Fulham’s current injury crisis is one of the most desperate he’s encounted.
“Our injuries right now is probably the worst I’ve ever known in my time as a manager,” Hodgson told Sky Sports.
“We’ve got six or seven players out right now, all of which were part of last year's team, so it’s been difficult. I’ve had to pick players with less experience in the first team, who are not quite up to speed with how we do things but that’s the way it is.”
Speaking after Fulham’s 1-0 win over Portsmouth, their first league win of 2010, Hodgson was happy with the result if not the whole performance.
He added: “I think that was an ugly win. It certainly would have been if we’d come in at half-time one up because Portsmouth played really well. They don’t look like team bottom of the table. We were much better in the second half though.”
The win - their first since beating Manchester United in December - moves Fulham up to 10th in the table.
