Roman Pavlyuchenko's agent, Oleg Artemov, insists that the out-of-favour striker could still leave Tottenham Hotspur despite the transfer window having come to a close.

The player's representative maintains that although the trading of players in Europe has come to a halt, a move back to Russia is possible since clubs there are allowed to be active on the transfer market until March, which is when their domestic season begins.

"The window closing means that Roman will not go to another European club," Artemov said, according to the Daily Mail.

"Now the Russian option looks very likely. On Monday I talked to the president of Lokomotiv, Nikolai Naumov, three times. The process continues."

Despite Lokomotiv being in pole position to sign the former Spartak Moscow hitman, it is believed that Robbie Keane's move to Celtic may leave manager Harry Redknapp thinking twice about whether or not Pavlyuchenko could be allowed to leave White Hart Lane.
