Everton manager David Moyes is determined to raise the bar
Toffees boss still chasing success after almost 600 games...
By Omar Dabbagh
Moyes is only two games away from reaching 600 matches as a first-grade manager, but is still chasing success after two successive fifth-place finishes in the Premier League and an FA Cup final defeat.
However, the gifted Scot is still adamant he can bring success to the blue half of Merseyside in the future.
As he told the press: “There is unfinished business here. We now have a good team here, a good squad. You could argue the numbers could be greater with more back-up.
“And if we have all our players fit, the question is can we compete? Can we do something along the line?”
The 46-year-old added that his high aspirations have not been hindered by an unremarkable season this time around.
“I’m ambitious and I want to be managing in a European competition," he added.
“In the past few years, we have been closer to it but this year we are not. We are going to have to fight incredibly hard and somehow scrape in by the skin of our teeth."
The Toffees travel to the DW Stadium to take on Wigan Athletic on Saturday.
