Fulham manager Roy Hodgson has confirmed that Roma's 20-year-old forward Stefano Okaka has, pending a medical, signed on loan for the Craven Cottage outfit, however, the Italy Under-20 international will not feature against Saturday opposition Aston Villa.

"The deal is on," Hodgson said on Friday to Press Association Sport. "It was never really off but there have been a lot of problems to iron out.

"At the moment he's finishing off a medical. Barring any problems with the medical I expect him to join us from Monday.

"He won't be in line to play against Aston Villa tomorrow as Roma want him available for their game on Sunday."

Okaka's agent, Domenico Scopelliti, recently said that he hoped any exit from Roma would result in a permanent deal for his client. He said in The Daily Mail: "We are looking for an opporunity that will allow the player to find continuity.

"Because honestly, after two loan-spells, it would be useless for him to leave for six months, and then return to the Roma bench."
