England line up Mexico for final Wembley World Cup warm-up game
Capello’s preferred opponents set for Three Lions clash on May 24
By Alex Stamp
The Three Lions will face the Mexicans on May 24 in their penultimate World Cup warm-up, with a game against Japan set to take place on May 29 at their warm-up camp in Austria ahead of their first World Cup group match against the United States on June 12.
The Press Association reports that Mexican officials have included the fixture as part of a six-match tour that will also feature games against Holland and current world champions Italy.
The Football Association have not yet officially confirmed the clash although Mexico are believed to be Fabio Capello’s preferred choice of opponents for this tie, as they come from the same region as England’s first opponents at the World Cup, the United States.
