Rangers defender Kirk Broadfoot has urged the club to offer him a new deal to extend his stay at Ibrox.

The 25-year-old’s contract runs out in the summer and he could leave on a free transfer if a new deal is not agreed.

Broadfoot is yet to hear anything from Rangers regarding a new contract but is keen to secure his long-term future at the club.

"I haven't heard anything regarding my situation. I hope something will get sorted out pretty soon," Broadfoot told the Daily Record.

"It doesn't affect me because I'm training and playing as normal. I'm just concentrating on that. I haven't looked at anything else at the moment.

"I'm just waiting to see what Rangers are going to offer and then, if it doesn't work, I would have a look at other options.

"Of course I want to stay. Everyone knows I'm a big Rangers fan and love playing here."

The Scotland international has made 76 appearances for Rangers since his move from St Mirren in 2007, scoring one goal.
