Roberto Mancini is set to bolster his attacking ranks this January, according to football agent Victor Becali, who claims that one of his clients - Fiorentina forward Adrian Mutu - could well join Manchester City.

"A transfer of Adrian Mutu from Fiorentina to Man City in January is possible," Becali explained to Sky Sport Italia.

Mutu, who has Premier League experience having kitted out for Chelsea in the past, has previously been linked with a move to Qatar, but Becari rubbished these rumours earlier in the transfer window.

He was reported by Goal.com International to have said: "The coach of Al Sadd did praise the player [Mutu], but I've never talked about a transfer to Qatar."
