2018 Intercontinental Cup: Vinit Rai replaces Dhanapal Ganesh in India's squad

Delhi Dynamos’ 20-year-old midfielder Vinit Rai has been called up to the national team after  Dhanapal Ganesh was ruled out due to typhoid. 

A week ago, Stephen Constantine had announced his 30-man probable squad for the upcoming Intercontinental Cup organised by the All India Football Federation (AIFF) in Mumbai. India are joined by Kenya, Chinese Taipei and New Zealand in the four-nation tournament. It kicks off on June 1 with India taking on Chinese Taipei.

The national camp has commenced in Mumbai on Wednesday and players of all clubs except Bengaluru FC have already joined the camp. Bengaluru players who had played their final AFC Cup 2018 match against Abahani Limited yesterday in Dhaka will join later.

Vineet Rai was an integral part of the Delhi Dynamos squad this season. The midfielder started in 13 matches for Miguel Angel Portugal’s side.
