The England defender is expected to return from a knee injury next month, but the club are still preparing for a January sale
Arsenal and Liverpool are weighing up January bids for Manchester United's Phil Jones, according to The Sun.
Jones, 24, has been out of action with a knee ligament injury and has not featured thus far under Jose Mourinho, though is expected to return midway through October.
Still, Mourinho is eager to offload the £110,000-per-week defender and reinvest the money on his defence.
Arsenal, who have struggled defensively due to injuries sustained by Per Mertesacker and Gabriel Paulista, are monitoring the situation with a view to making a £10 million bid, while Liverpool are also interested in the England international.
