RUMOURS: Arsenal make Sidibe approach

The 23-year-old looked set to complete a move to Monaco but Arsene Wenger has deemed the versatile wing-back a priority and hopes to hijack the €15 million deal

Arsenal are hoping to hijack Monaco's €15m deal for Lille wing-back Djibril Sidibe, according to L'Equipe.

Monaco had looked to have sealed the 23-year-old's signature with a €15 million agreement, which would see former Manchester City youngster Rony Lopes return to Lille on loan.

However, Arsene Wenger has deemed the defender "a priority" as he looks to bolster his options at the back with Sidibe, who can play on either flank, stalling on signing off on a move to Monaco.
