The Russian was questionable during Lucho's opener but showed why he is so highly-rated thereafter, especially during a good save from a Martinez header shortly before half-time. Impressed even more after the break.
Was not at his best and rode his luck at times as the Portuguese visitors threatened to score multiple times. Hung on, however, and ensured his side only conceded the once.
Was busy throughout, venturing forward when he could but also defending with strength. Made several important tackles but failed to deal with Varela defensively. Almost won the game with a spectacular late volley.
Like his partner at centre-back, did not look totally convincing. Ultimately managed not to make any major errors, however, and even ventured forward at times.
Like Ansaldi, was a very lively presence, switching between defensive and attacking duties with considerable efficiency. Fared better defensively, though, coping with Porto's attacking pressure despite their dominance.
Looked extremely lively, keeping up with Hulk down the left-hand side and cutting inside as much as he could. Won the second-half penalty that the Brazilian should have done better with.
Like Shirokov, failed to heavily influence the game from midfield and was only saved by the fact that he did not commit any major howlers.
This was not the Russian's best night as he failed to come up with any creativity in the middle of the park and was outplayed by the Porto midfielders. Arshavin replaced him in the second half and looked a considerable upgrade.
Was wasteful with his finishing but did show good touches on the ball and came close to scoring in the second half but for a great tackle from Danilo. Came off injured.
Showed flashes of his creative brilliance but enjoyed a short-lived presence as he was forced off through injury in the first half.
A mixed game for the Brazilian. A constant threat, Hulk used his unique blend of pace and strength to muscle through and grab his side's equaliser in the first half. However, his second-half penalty was very poor indeed and he blew a big chance for his side to retake the lead.
Like Hulk, Helton had a mixed night. He did not make many errors but the one he did commit was fatal as a miscommunication in the box led to Hulk's first-half equaliser. The goalkeeper should have showed more authority under pressure. But his penalty save in the second half made amends, before he also denied Arshavin late on.
Did not play to his full potential and fouled Hulk in the penalty box late on, when he should have conceded a penalty.
His performance was largely par for the course but the defender committed a heavy number of fouls in dangerous areas that could have proven costly on another day.
Was very bright down the left-hand side, venturing forward with some regularity. Played poorly at the back, though, and was at fault for Hulk's equaliser. Was also booked for bringing the same striker down in the second half.
Made a superb tackle against Witsel at the end of the second half. Also exhibited some exquisite passing, especially for Lucho's opener when, out of nothing, the Porto man took a touch and whipped a delightful cross into the penalty area from the right-hand side.
Could not influence play as much as his fellow midfielders but contributed both in defensive and attacking capacities.
Passed extremely well and opened the scoring with an inch-perfect header into the far corner. Was quieter after half-time but still played his part for his side.
Came off in the second half after a good day's work. Seemed to be in several places at once but was hit-and-miss when it came to his final product. Often passed and crossed well yet sometimes wasted his shots when squaring to a team-mate would have been a better option.
Impressed with a wide array of skills, showing a good first touch, an exceptional eye for a pass and an equally effective eye for goal.
Could have done more for his side and, in the end, the visitors relied on alternative attacking outlets to threaten. Did get some shots on goal under pressure, however.
A very lively presence up front, the Porto man rushed forward at every opportunity, demonstrating all the impressive aspects of his game: shooting, dribbling, passing and crossing. Was also exceptionally fast down the left.
Came on for Danny in the first half and seemed to make an instant impact as the Porto defence failed to decide on how to deal with Zenit's new tactical line-up. Was constantly involved thereafter as he continues to prove his ability at this level.
Made an instant impact after coming on and produced a flawless display. Almost won the game for his side, while also delivering dangerous crosses. Amazingly, a superb tackle in defence also saved his side late on.
