  • FULL TIME - WIGAN 1-1 RUBIN KAZAN. Owen Coyle's men will be delighted with a well earned point against a strong Rubin Kazan. Nick Powell's snap shot in the first half cancelled out Prudnikov's smart finish but in the end, a point is a-piece is a fair result. That's five points for Wigan in Group D and they look good for their chances to progress to the knockout stages. Thank you for joining me tonight for this encounter. I have been Hayden Gribble...and shouldn't you be off to bed? You have work in the morning! Come on, it's not the weekend just yet!

This has been a brilliant performance from Wigan so far. The Championship side are holding their own and should be in the lead after Fortune's chance. Not long to go now, but what do the Latics have left in their locker?
  • 71'
CHANCE! It's Powell in the box...he is free...but he loses the ball to a well timed challenge from Mavinga from behind just as the trigger was pulled. Incredible tackle!
  • 70'
CHANCE! Marc-Antoine Fotrune goes close when he sees his shot from near enough the penalty spot saved well. The home side have awoken...the tempo is all of a sudden cranked up to 11...twenty minutes to go!
  • 69'
Although the yellow card count has been high this has not been a dirty or bad tempered game at all. In short, the referee has had a 'mare!
  • 68'
    SubstitutionJean Beausejour James McClean
  • 67'
    SubstitutionRoman Sharonov César Navas
  • 66'
    Yellow Card Wakaso
  • 66'
The tempo has well and truly wilted here, which is a shame as this was looking to be a highly entertaining game in the first half. Grant Holt's involvement is over but Wigan need to keep their heads and find some creativity in midfield. Is it time for Callum McManaman to enter the fold?
  • 63'
    SubstitutionGrant Holt Marc-Antoine Fortune
  • 62'
DIVE! Substitute Wakaso should be booked for simulation after falling theatrically after attention from Boyce but it is just a word in the ear for the youngster. What a wally that fall made him look!
  • 60'
We have 30 minutes to go, here. Rubin are still looking to pick the lock nut Wigan are keeping it tight at the back.
  • 59'
    SubstitutionDmitriy Torbinskiy Wakaso
  • 57'
The game has settled again after the last couple of minutes of excitement. Owen Coyle is looking to his bench, possibly for inspiration with who can put Wigan in front here.
  • 54'
    Yellow Card Dmitriy Torbinskiy
  • 54'
OUCH! Nick Powell is left writhing on he floor as both he and Torbinksi go in two-footed on each other but it is the striker who comes off worst. It is difficult to see who actually committed the foul there but the Russian is cautioned. Free-kick to Wigan but it comes to nothing.
  • 53'
PENALTY SHOUT! Emmerson Boyce is sent to the ground as shouts for a spot kick go up from the terraces. The referee is having none of it and tells the Wigan skipper to get to his feet. Great decision and the correct one.
  • 53'
Wigan are holding back the Rubin Kazan tide but it is just as even so far this half as it was in the opening 45 minutes. There have been few chances so far.
  • 50'
CHANCE! Eremenko lines up a free-kick on the edge of the area...but powers his shot into the Wigan wall.
  • 49'
    Yellow Card Ryan Shotton
  • 48'
STAT ATTACK: 4 - Nick Powell has scored four goals in his last four appearances at the DW Stadium. Settled. (OptaJoe)
  • 46'
Wigan get us back underway, kicking from left to right. There are changes at the break so it's as you were!
  • The players are back out on the pitch. Can Wigan snatch it? Or will Rubin maake it an away day to remember?
  • HALFTIME - WIGAN 1-1 RUBIN KAZAN. It's all square at the break as a well fought and entertaining first half is brought to an end by referee Florian Meyer. Wigan will be happy to go into the break with their performance - especially as they have been able to create chances against a strong and experienced European unit. But having said that, Rubin's undoubted skill and build-up play has bamboozled Owen Coyle's men at times. It's a fair scoreline at the moment. The second half is coming up!
  • 44'
CHANCE! Ermenko slices a clear chance to put Rubin back in front but he skews it wide...for a throw-in! There will be TWO minutes of stoppage time.
  • 43'
That was a strong challenge from Barnett but a yellow card is harsh on the defender. Two minutes to go plus stoppages.
  • 42'
    Yellow Card Leon Barnett
  • 41'
CHANCE! Oh my, Wigan had to stay switched on there. It's Prudnikov whose asking questions of the Wigan defence again as he snaps a left footed shot from outside the area merely seconds after the restart. That would have been another body blow for a hard working Wigan unit tonight.
  • 40'
    Assist Ben Watson
  • 40'
    Goal Nick Powell
GOAL! That is a brilliant strike from Wigan's on-loan striker Nick Powell. The Manchester United youngster playes a clever one-two with Watson and smashes a neat finish past the keeper at his near post from 20-yards. Great finish and Wigan are back in it!
  • 38'
The Latics are just creeping into this again. Is a goal impending?
  • 36'
CHANCE! Beausejour wins a free-kick just outside the area and to the right of the 'd'. Watson steps up to take the kick...and Ryzhikov smothers it. That was a disappointing effort from the former Chelsea man.
  • 34'
It looks like the long ball might be a prosperous resource for chances for the Latics. The Rubin defence will struggle against the might of Holt.
  • 32'
CHANCE! A long ball into the penalty area is met by Grant Holt, who is looking for a goal on his European debut, but the former Norwich man fails to steer the ball towards goal under immense pressure and it is cleared.
  • 30'
We are a third of the way into this game and the movement of the visiting side is fantastic. They are finding gaps in the Wigan defence and looking to exploit the Latics at any given opportunity.
  • 27'
CHANCE! I have a feeling that Wigan will have to take any chance they get if they are to have any joy tonight. Beausejour sends a cross/shot across a jumping Ryzhikov and the goalie tips it out of play. The referee did not see the keeper's touch so it's a throw-in to Rubin.
  • 25'
CHANCE! Jordi Gomez should have scored! The play is broken up by Watson, who sends a pass into Powell, who lets it run to Gomez but the winger snatches at it and send it high and not at all pretty.
  • 24'
CHANCE! Ryazantsev reaches a pull-back on the edge of the area, but his shot flies wide of Carson's goal. Wigan can not afford to make too many mistakes in this one.
  • 21'
The visitors pour forward again but they are crowded out by the Wigan defence. They look confident and assured with the ball at their feet. It might take Wigan something special to get back in this.
  • 17'
That goal really is a punch in the stomach for the Latics, who had been looknig the stronger side until that goal grom Prudnikov. The striker looked sharp and finished his effort with aplomb. What have the home side got in their locker and how will they respond?
  • 15'
    Assist Chris Mavinga
  • 15'
    Goal Alexander Prudnikov
GOAL! Rubin's first attack culminates in the opening goal. It's all about the build-up on the left hand side as Prudnikov makes a clever run through the middle and controls a smart ball from Mavinga to smash the ball past Scott Carson.
  • 12'
It's one way traffic in these early stages and it's Wigan who are creating the (half) chances. European football suits Owen Coyle's side, that's for sure! They are looking very comfortable on the ball.
  • 9'
CHANCE! The first chance of the evening goes to the home side as Powell latches into a free ball after a failed clearance in the Rubin box, but his shot whacks into Mavinga in the box. The Latics' faithful claim handball but there is no way that the Frenchman had time to move out of the way of that one.
  • 7'
Ben Watson sends a free-kick into the box for Wigan but M'Vila has a free header and clears with ease.
  • 5'
STAT ATTACK: The Latics are unbeaten in their last seven home games in all competitions. (W4, D3)
  • 3'
The opening couple of minutes lack tempo but the Wigan faithful are very much up for this. They are roaring like lions in the stands...even if the stadium is half empty!
  • 1'
Rubin get us underway at the DW stadium, kicking from left to right.
  • We are into the final minute and Boyce concedes a corner to Rubin. Last chance of the game. Wigan must retain their concentration here. But the ball cannot be directed goalwards and the Latics get it clear.
  • CHANCE! That was the moment Wigan could have snatched all three points here. McManaman puts the ball across the six-yard box and Fortune is onto it. He must score but finds the palms of Ryzhikov who palms the ball away. What a late goal that would have been!
  • There will be FOUR minutes of added on time.
  • OUCH! James McClean is booked for a very late challenge. The decision is hleped by the Rubin players crowding the referee, who it has to be said has been inconsistent tonight.
  • But his delivery is poor yet again and caught easily by the keeper.
  • Powell wins a free-kick for the home side about 25-yards from goal. Watson steps up...
  • CHANCE! Oh what a tackle from Mavinga. Callum McManaman sneaks around to the back post after a header down from Boyce The substitute's shot is on target..but the Rubin defender slides in just in the nick of time to see it out for a corner.
  • Ben Watson floats a free-kick into the box but it is headed out for another Wigan throw-in. Good pressure from the FA Cup holders.
  • Wigan defender Shotton is no Rory Delap. He tries to hurl it into the box from a throw-in but Rubin deal with the threat with ease. A point would be a very good point for Owen Coyle's men.
  • The away side are looking to counter attack at any point that the Latics are dispossessed. This will be a very open last ten minutes!
  • We have 15 minutes to go and Boyce is finding any opportunity to have it out with Wakaso - who should have been cautioned by a diabolical dive earlier on in the half. Meanwhile, McManaman is getting ready to come on...
  • The teams are out of the tunnel and lining up. Kick-off is moments away. Can Wigan beat their Group D rivals to leapfrog them to the summit? Let's find out!
  • This will be a real test for Owen Coyle's team. Rubin Kazan are an experienced European team who will press right form the word go. Who will come out on top? Kick-off is ten minutes away...
  • So, what can we expect from tonight's game? Hopeful, a glut of goals, of course, but the FA Cup holders will have to keep it tight at the back - especially when they come up against French International Yann M'Vila. Then again, the former Rennes hitman has yet to open his account for the Russian side. Will tonight be his night?
