FULL-TIME! It's all over at the DW Stadium and Manchester United extend their lead at the top of the Premier League thanks to a Javier Hernandez double and goals from Wayne Rooney and Fabio Da Silva. The scoreline suggests a hammering but for long stages in the match Wigan more than held their own but they just could not show the quality needed in front of goal. But United won't care and they sit pretty at the top of the league with 60 points.
There will be three minutes of stoppage time.

Wayne Rooney swings in a cross and it beats everyone and falls at the feet of Fabio Da Silva who scores with his first touch. That is his first ever goal and it gives his side their 13th win over Wigan in a s many games.

Brilliant team goal from Manchester United as substitute Darron Gibson plays a glorious 30-yard ball to Dimitar Berbatov. The Bulgarian streaks away from the defence and towards goal and has Wayne Rooney up in support. Berbatov rolls the ball across to Rooney who cannot miss and makes it 3-0.

Wigan are having plenty of the ball at the moment but cannot they penetrate Manchester united's back four.
The goal was Javier Hernandez's last contribution as he is replaced by Dimitar Berbatov. Darron Gibson also come on to replace Paul Scholes.

Lovely one-two between Rooney and Hernandex releases the young Mexican into the box. With only Al-Habsi to beat he stays calm and slots the ball past the keeper and intot he net for his second of the afternoon. That should wrap up the points for Manchester United.

Wigan are probing for an equaliser and N'Zogbia sends in a low free-kick which is cleared once again by Vidic.

Javier Hernandez is the first name to go into the referee's book after taking a tumble on the edge of the Wigan box. No foul is given and Hernandez is booked for Simulation.
Wigan have the ball in the net as Di Santo rolls into an empty net after a cross from Rodallega, but the Colombian was adjudged to be off-side in the build up.

Nani wins a corner off Gary Caldwell. The winger sends in the set piece and Al-Habsi fumbles the cross but the ball falls kindly for the Home side and they clear their lines.
A fantastic double save from Ali-ALhabsi prevents Manchester United from doubling their lead. Nani goes on one of his mazy runs and the space opens up in front of him. He gets a shot away and Al-Habsi spills the shot but then gets back to his feet to save Darren Fletcher's rebound.
Another half chance for Wigan as Hugo Rodallega finds some space in the box and seems to have a free header, but the referee sees an infringement and gives Manchester United a free-kick.
Wigan are refusing to give up here and Victor Moses has stinging effort on goal but the ball just clears the cross bar.
Another chance for United as Nani turns sharply on the edge of the Wigan box and fires a shot just wide and into the side netting. great play from the tricky winger.
The visitors have sparked into life now and it is Hernandez causing Wigan problems again, and he ets into the box and cuts back inside before firing a shot on goal. The shot gets a slight deflection but Ali Al-Habsy makes a gd save.
Good play from patrice Evra in the centre circle releases Manchester United forward and Wayne Rooney then picks out Javier Hernandez. The Mexican striker bears down on goal but his shot is blocked by Figueroa.
All Wigan so far in this half and Figueroa sends in a cross from the left-hand side and Hugo Rodallega gets a header on target but it lacks the power to trouble Vab der Sar.
Wigan start brightly again and continue to cause Manchester United problems with their movement. Maynor Figueroa is the next player to test Edwin Van der Sar as he strikes a ferocious 30-yard striike which the Dutch keeper beats away. That is a good play all round because the ball was travelling and heading for the top corner.

HALF-TIME! The referee brings an end to proceedings at the DW Stadium and Manchester United will be happy going into the break. Sir Alex Ferguson's side have the lead thanks to Javier Hernadez's goal but WIgan have not been outclassed here. The performance of Victor Moses is a big positive for Roberto Martinez. Join us in a little while for the second-half to see if Wigan can get back into the game.
Once again Wigan are having joy down Manchester United's right and Victor Moses gets to the byline but his cross is too long for Hug Rodallega.
Into stoppage time at the end of the first-half...
Wigan on the attack again and Charles N'Zogbia fires a cross in from the left but Chris Smalling is in position to hack the ball away.
Wigan showing some good build up play and Victor Moses, who has been the home sides best player, wins a corner on the left. Ben Watson sends in yet another corner but it has too much on it and beats everyone.
This is the Van der Sar and Vidic show for Manchester United at the moment. Wigan have another corner and Ben Watson whips the ball in but Vidic is there once again to clear his sides lines. Then the ball falls to Gary Caldwell on the edge lf the box and he sends a cross back into the box and Van der Sar leaps high to claim the ball.
Paul Scholes is the second Manchester United player to have a talking to by the referee after his late challenge on James McCarthy.
Another chance for Manchester United and Nani, as the winger twists and turn on the edge of the penalty area and lets fly with a right-footed shot but it rolls harmlessly wide.
Rooney got injured in the build up to Nani's shot after colliding with Steve Gohouri. The England striker is walking gingerly but after treatment he is ok to continue.
That is more like the Manchester United we know. They produce a brilliant passing move and Wayne Roony slipped through Nani on the left edge of the penalty area, and he smashed a shot against the frame of the goal. So unlucky for the winger.
Despite being ahead Manchester United are struggling for any rhythm and WIgan have another chance as Steve Gohouri leaps higher than everybody in the United box but he hids wide of the right hand post.
Wigan send another ball into the box but they meet the wall that is Vidic. The United captain has been superb so far this afternoon and Sir Alex Ferguson's side have him and 40-year-old Edwin Van der Saar to thanks for being in front. Wigan have been unlucky so far.
The goal hasn't stopped Wigan attacking and James McCarthy has an opportunity to hit straight back, but his shot for 8 yards is well saved by Van der Sar.

Nani breaks away down the left and whips a low cross into the box and Javier Hernandez gets onto the end of it and produces a great finish past Al-Habsi at the near post. It's come against the run of play rearly but United fans won't care, they lead 1-0.

Wigan go close after Victor Moses gets a shot away but Edwin Van der Sar makes a terrific save.
Wigan are building a little bit of pressure on manchester United. They have a couple of corners but can't make anything of them.
Wayne Rooney and James McCarthy collide and the referee stops the match to have a quiet word in the Manchester United players ear. Moments later Darren Fletcher sends a ball into the box from the right and Nani is a whisker away from getting on the end of it and giving his side the lead.
Javier Hernandez is fould in a dangerous position and Nani fires in a free-kick which is easily saved.
Good chance for Wigan and Charles N'Zogbia as he picks up the ball on the edge of the Manchester United penalty area and runs straight at the heart of the defence, but Nemandja Vidic puts in a fantastic takle to avert the danger.
Wigan start brightly and win an early corner. Charles N'Zogbia sends in a good cross but Steve Gohouri cannot get a good connection on his header.

Sir Alex Feruson believes the Premier League title race is now down to just two clubs. He sees Arsenal as his side's main title challengers and if they can manage a win today they will go four points clear of their rivals.
Wigan make nine changes from the side which lost in the FA Cup to Bolton last week and will be looking to Charles N'Zobia and Hugo Rodallega to trouble Manchester United.
