The game comes to an end, Arsenal fully deserved their win here. An early chance for Gomez was the only real threat Wigan made. Arsenal although not in top gear crafted out a convincing win against a struggling Wigan side.
The games has slowly wound to an end, Arsenal have all of the possession and are happy to see out the 4-0 win and keep the clean sheet.

Benayoun nearly gets a goal. A long ball fools the Wigan defence and the on-loan midfielder is one on one with the keeper. He has to take the chance quickly and tries to lob the keeper. It beats Al Habsi but Caldwell covers behind to clear the danger.
Triple substitution from Wenger, the games already won and he brings on some fresh legs for the final ten minutes.
GoalRobin van Persie
4-0!! van Persie finally gets his goal. Caldwell makes slips as he tries to stop Walcott entering the box, the English winger is at an awkward angle so plays it back to van Persie who side foots it into the net. Arsenal are coasting now.
Wigan on the counter attack. Di Santo is in possession with Moses on his right, the ball to Moses is delayed to long and Arsenal deal with the threat the winger posed.
Yellow CardS. Gohouri
Walcott is goes down holding his ankle after a tackle from Gohouri. The defender came from behind Walcott and just hacked him down on the half way line. The midfielder eventually gets up looking unaffected.
Ramsey manages to work his way into the box as Caldwell keeps back tracking, the Welshman fires a shot at goal but it doesn't hit the target.
Van Persie jinked inside the defender and attempted to curl the ball into the top right corner, but Al Habsi did enough to direct it off target. Gervinho was alert though, and he prodded the ball home from close range.
AssistRobin van Persie
3-0 to Arsenal. Gervinho cleans up after Al Habsi failed to deal with a van Persie shot.
Franco Di Santo
Gervinho intercepts a stray pass from McCarthy and starts a counter attack, he plays a one-two with van Persie who is running across his path. He tries a shot but it is closed down quickly.
Yellow CardAlex Song
Figueroa cuts in from the left wing, and level with the edge of the box he drills a low ball towards goal. It's just wide of the goal.
Walcott dinks a ball from the right flank into van Persie on the back post. The floated ball finds the Dutchman but his header is not great and it bounces into Al Habsi's hands.
Yellow CardGary Caldwell
Caldwell rushes through the back of Ramsey at the half way line, no need for that kind of tackle really. He gets a yellow card for the challenge.
Ramsey appeals for a penalty after he feels he was pulled down by Gohouri in the the box, but the referee is having none of it. The Arsenal midfielder definitely had a case there.
Stam, who is playing very high up the right, swings in a cross but Vermaelen heads out easily. It falls to Gomez just outside the box, he shapes up for the shot but when he releases it goes high and wide.
Wigan get the game re-started, Martinez will hope for an improved performance from his side. Especially from his defence as they've looked very week dealing with set-pieces.
Martinez will have to try and inspire his Wigan side at the break as Arsenal are in cruise control after the two goals. It's hard to see any way back for the home side.
The referee brings the first half to an end. Wigan have fallen foul to a quick double from Arsenal, before that they seemed to be inspired by the win last week.
Mertesacker makes an inch perfect tackle just inside the box to stop Diame, that would have definitely of been a penalty if it wasn't perfect from the German.
Gervinho shows a great turn of pace to latch on to a long through ball, he beats Al Habsi to the ball but his touch is to heavy and he takes the ball to wide to cause a threat, and the attack fizzles away.
Song is given a talking to by the ref after he just stuck a leg out to stop Jones' run after he skipped past the Arsenal midfielder.
Wigan made a good start to the game, making good moves forward, but since going down their heads seem to have dropped and it is all Arsenal at the minute.
Wigan again fail to deal with a corner this time the header is blocked by Sammon but only reaches Walcott and after desperate defending from Wigan the ball is eventually cleared. That quick fire double looks to have shaken Martinez's side.
AssistRobin van Persie
2-0! Second goal in a matter of minutes. A corner is floated into the back post and Vermaelen looses his marker, Caldwell, to nod home from close range.
Wonderful Goal!! Arteta, opens the scoring with a wonderful strike.

Ramsey pumps in a deep cross from the left wing, his cross is poor but it does draw Al Habsi into a save but the keeper collects unchallenged.

An advanced Koscielny plays a good ball into van Persie, but the Dutchman's attempted pass square to Gervinho is blocked and he is forced into the corner. Figueroa does well and the attack ends with Wigan winning a goal kick.
A cross from the by-line courtesy of Walcott is only met by Caldwell on the 6-yard box. Although the Scot misses his clearance and it hits his standing leg, fortunately the deflection does not cause Al Habsi any problems.
Santos manages to travel to the edge of the Wigan box almost unopposed, but tries to take all the glory with a shot but it flies well wide of Al Habsi's goal.
Jones whips in a cross from the right, nobody is at the back post except for Santos who attempts to chest the ball back to the goalkeeper but gets it all wrong and it goes for a corner. Szczesny collects the corner confidently.
Gomez misses a sitter. A cross into the 6-yard-box is not dealt with well by Szczesny and he parries it to around the penalty spot, Gomez is under no real pressure but still fails to find the target. Great oppurtunity to go ahead.
A run from Walcott spans half the pitch and he plays it wide to Gervinho but the Ivory Coast man's first touch is poor and he loses possession.
Moses is found in space 35 yards out to the left of the box, he has no real options so attempts a speculative shot but it takes a defelction and Szczesny collects easily.
Arsenal get us kicked off here at the DW Stadium.
It will be hard for Martinez's men to get anything from this game against an in form Arsenal, but their victory over Sunderland last week and the home advantage will be key if they are to rescue a point or more today.
