Not too much to do for the England internsational but when he was called into ation he was superb. Solid display capped by a brilliant penalty save when the Hammers were winning 2-0.
Was having a good game in the unfamiliar left-back position until he brought down Jordi Gomez in the box. Luckily for him Rob Green was in inspired form to keep the penalty out.
Good performance from the West Ham youngster. Read the danger well and dealt with everything that came into the box whether on the ground or in the air. Formed an impressive partnership with Upson.
Solid game before being replaced by Winston Reid. Did everything he was asked in defence and caused the Wigan defence problem's with his forward runs on the overlap.
Better performance from the West Ham skipper. Formed an impressive partnership at the heart of the Hammers' defence alongside Tomkins. Strong in the air and kept Di Santo quiet all day.
Surprise starter for Avram Grant's side but added to the side with his pace and trickery. Will get better the more games he plays.
Great finish for the opening goal. Did his job well alongside Parker, breaking up Wigan's play and playing the simple pass.
Another outstanding display from the West ham talisman. Tireless performance from the midfield general. He put in tackle after tackle and was at the heart of everything the Hammers did. Capped his display with the third goal.
Worked hard for his side all afternoon. Won numerous headers and played a vital part in the Hammers' first goal. Caught offside too easily on occassion.
Not one of the best performances from Barrera. Struggled to make an impact and when put in a good position failed to deliver in the final third.
Ali Al Habsi
Not the on loan keeper's best performance. Shaky under the high ball but to be fair he could not have done anything for the three goals. Needed more support from his defence
Not one of his best displays. Beasten in the air a lot by the Hammers' forward players. Roberto Martinez will be hoping Gary Caldwell returns to fitness soon.
Impressive with his surging runs forward but was given as torrid time indefence by West Ham's front two.
Given a hard time by Obinna and Piquionne. At fault for the opening goal wehen he should have done better dealing with Piquionne's knock down.
Once again caused poroblems for West Ham with his attacking runs. Kept Barrera quiet all game. One of Wigan's better performers.
Scored the consolation goal for the visitors but went missing for large spells of the game.
Worked hard for his side but was given the run around at times by the West Ham midfield. Over shadowed by Scott Parker.
Won the penalty which could have brought the Latics back into the game. But other than that didn't have much joy up against Danny Gabbidon.
Looked lively in the opening stages with his pace and trickery. But wasn't given the support he needed by his team-mates.
Worked hard and put in some great challenges but wasn't at his best going forward.
F. Di Santo
Was anonymous up front. Wasn't given a kick all day by the West Ham defence. Replaced after 60 minutes.
- 31 R. Boffin
Late replacement for Scott Parker.
Kept it tight sat the back after replacing Lars Jacobsen early in the second half.
- 13 Boa Morte
- 26 Z. Hines
- 17 B. McCarthy
Not too much time to impress after his comments in midweek but went close with a couple of half chances after replacing Piquonne.
- 12 M. Pollitt
- 38 C. McManaman
- 39 J. Mustoe
- 16 J. McArthur
- 8 B. Watson
Not much time to make an impact. Game already lost when he came on.
Missed a penalty with his first kick of the match. It could have brought Wigan back into the match but unfortunately his penslty was poor and easily saved by Green.
