My name's Ben Cullimore and it's been an absolute pleasure describing the action to you today. Until next time, goodbye!
West Ham United will be bitterly disappointed by today's performance, which was a far cry from the impressive shift that they put in against Crystal Palace last weekend. They now travel to Hull City after the international break before back-to-back tough clashes against Liverpool and Manchester United, whilst Southampton host Newcastle United in two weeks' time.
Ronald Koeman has earnt his first Premier League win as manager and it's richly deserved. After a lacklustre first period in which his side only really got going after they equalised in the final minutes of the half, Southampton came out fighting after half-time and were fantastic from then onwards. West Ham United always looked in danger of conceding from a set-piece and the visitors continued to prey on that weakness, with Schneiderlin's second goal of the game effectively wrapping up the win for the Saints.
FULL-TIME: WEST HAM UNITED 1-3 SOUTHAMPTON
90' + 2'
West Ham United try to embark on one last attack but Morrison loses possession in the middle of the pitch after a poor attempt at a pass forward.
The fourth official has indicated that there will be three minutes of added time.
West Ham United look as if they have given up, and Southampton continue to be able to wind down the clock with ease.
Southampton are under no pressure from West Ham United and have been allowed to pass the ball around in the centre of the pitch without any trouble whatsoever.
West Ham United fans are pouring out of Upton Park as we enter the final five minutes of the game. Their side have been incredibly poor during the second half, with their inability to deal with set-pieces proving to be extremely costly.
GOAL! At last, Pelle scores his first Premier League goal. Cork threads a wonderful pass through to Clyne, who whips the ball into the West Ham United penalty area from the right hand side of the box. Adrian dives and beats it away but it ends up with Pelle, who fires in from close range to make it 3-1 and surely wrap up the win for Southampton.
A lovely move by Southampton after a long period of comfortable possession ends up with Tadic on the left wing, but his cross is blocked well by O'Brien.
Yellow CardGraziano Pellè
Ramirez is poorly challenged on the right wing and Southampton win themselves a free-kick. Like the corner that resulted in Schneiderlin's second goal, they decide to go short and, once again, they take the West Ham United defence completely by surprise, allowing Pelle to dart into the box before forcing Adrian into making a good save at the near post.
The resulting set-piece is sent into the heart of the box but it amounts to nothing, as the Southampton defence have dealt with set-pieces well all afternoon, in stark contrast to West Ham United.
The hosts are on the front foot now for the first time in the second half but are still finding it difficult to find a way through the Southampton back line. After being forced to play it around the middle of the park, Downing tries to break forward towards the Southampton penalty area, but he's brought down by Schneiderlin and earns his side a free-kick.
West Ham United earn themselves a free-kick, which is sent deep towards Reid at the back post. It bounces up and he tries to score with an athletic overhead kick, but it goes well wide of the goal.
Luck just isn't on West Ham United's side at the moment. Diame breaks down the left wing before seemingly winning his side a corner, but the linesman shakes his head and instead awards a goal kick for Southampton.
Southampton have looked the far better side since the start of the second half, and they continue to press on in search of a third goal that will surely wrap up the win.
GOAL! West Ham United are caught completely off guard by a quick Southampton corner, which allows Schneiderlin to easily tap in his second goal of the game just a few yards in front of goal. Very poor defending from West Ham United, and, unsurprisingly, Sam Allardyce looks furious.
Tadic finds himself in acres of space down the left wing, allowing him plenty of time to set himself up before sending a great cross towards Ramirez. He gets a head to it but the ball takes a deflection off a West Ham United defender which sends it over the crossbar and out for a corner.
Kouyate wins the ball off Ward-Prowse and sets up Downing, who sets off an a marauding run down the right flank. He makes it all the way towards the corner of the Southampton penalty area before a terrible touch allows Schneiderlin to easily dispossess him.
West Ham United are under so much pressure at the moment as Southampton continue to come at them in waves. The visitors continue to embark on great attacks but are constantly letting themselves down with poor finishing.
Yellow CardJoey O'Brien
The resulting free-kick is whipped in by Tadic where it finds Long by the near post. He tries to tap it towards Pelle at the far post but the Italian misses the ball, as does every West Ham United defender.
Schneiderlin sends a long ball towards Tadic on the left wing, who brings the ball down well before being clattered by O'Brien, who, after plenty of arguing with the referee, receives a yellow card.
Ricardo Vaz Te
Southampton get the ball in the back of the net but it's flagged for offside! The visitors are awarded a free-kick which is sent towards Pelle at the back post and he bundles the ball into the goal with his head, but the linesman's flag is up and it won't count.
Sam Allardyce, seemingly not happy with what he has seen from his players in the first 10 minutes of the second half, looks set to make a double substitution.
Yellow CardAaron Cresswell
Ward-Prowse is blocked by Reid just outside of the West Ham United penalty area and Southampton are awarded a free-kick in a very dangerous position. Tadic takes it but it's deflected by the wall and sent out for a corner.
Schneiderlin almost makes it 2-1 to Southampton with a half-volleyed effort from the resulting corner, but his shot goes just over the crossbar, resulting in cries of displeasure from the home fans.
Another fine save by Adrian! This time, Ward-Prowse knocks the ball into the path of Tadic, who is completely unmarked on the edge of the penalty area, and his shot is tipped around the post yet again by the West Ham United goalkeeper.
Southampton have started like they mean business, and West Ham United's defence are finding it hard to deal with the pace of the visitors' attacks.
After a Southampton attack breaks down, West Ham United embark on a swift counter-attack down the right flank. Kouyate flies down the wing before sending in a great cross towards Cole, but the ball is just a yard or two in front of the big striker.
Long fires in an early long-range effort that Adrian is just about able to tip around the left post and out for a Southampton corner. The Spaniard's save was a great one, as Long's effort was surely heading for the back of the net.
And we're underway once again!
The two sides are back out on the pitch ahead of the start of the second half.
In a half in which neither side have dominated, a 1-1 scoreline seems fair and appropriate. Southampton have arguably created the better chances but they continue to struggle against a strong West Ham United back four, whilst the hosts have looked bereft of ideas in the final third of the pitch.

His first shot is blocked by Downing but his second finds its way through the sea of West Ham United shirts and into the back of the net.
The fourth official has indicated that there will be two minutes of added time.
The pace of the game has slowed down somewhat, as West Ham United seem content to go into the half-time break with a one-goal advantage.
Tadic and Pelle almost link up well again, but the former's cross takes the Italian by surprise and he is unable to make any sort of clean contact with the ball.
Southampton slowly but surely try to work their way towards the West Ham United penalty area, but the attack is brought to an end by Schneiderlin, who fouls Kouyate halfway inside the hosts' half of the pitch.
Noble is still on the ground after clashing with Tadic. It looks as if he took a nasty blow on the foot, but he should be ok to continue after a few moments on the sideline.
Once again, Tadic is involved in another promising Southampton attack. This time, he attempts to get a shot away on goal from the edge of the box, but he fouls Noble in the process and West Ham United are awarded a free-kick.

Creswell flings a long throw in towards Vaz Te, who is able to get a head on the ball but is only able to send it into the grateful hands of Forster.
After an uninspiring opening 15 minutes, West Ham United are looking far more comfortable in possession but are still struggling in front of goal. Both sides have defended well so far, meaning that play has been mostly confined to the middle third of the pitch.
Great chance for West Ham United! Zarate is brought down by Schneiderlin 25 yards out and the hosts are awarded a free-kick. Downing's cross-cum-shot bounces around the penalty area before falling at the feet of Vaz Te, but the latter's hurried shot is saved wonderfully by Forster and sent trickling around the outside of the back post.
Southampton are looking very dangerous in the final third of the pitch. Davis finds Long with a lovely curled cross but the Irishman is just inches offside.
Long and Ward-Prowse exhange a one-two just inside the West Ham United penalty area but the latter takes too long on the ball when he receives it from his new teammate and the attack breaks down.
Downing beats Bertrand on the right hand side of the penalty area before sending a cross towards the head of Cole, but Fonte is able to jump higher than the big West Ham United forward and, as a result, he meets the ball first, sending it up the pitch and away from danger.
A promising looking Southampton attack is brought to a disappointing end by Ward-Prowse, whose pass completely misses the run of Long and instead trickles out of play for a West Ham United throw-in.
Reid sends a great long ball towards Vaz Te down the left wing, which Clyne is forced to send out for a corner. Downing takes the resulting set-piece and sends it towards the back post, but Pelle is able to clear the ball with a strong header.

West Ham United are handed a half-chance when Cole flicks the ball into the path of Vaz Te with his head, but Forster is able to rush out and collect the ball.
It's been all Southampton so far, with West Ham United forced onto the back foot from the start. However, the hosts look strong and well organised at the back, and Southampton have found it difficult to find a way past the back four.
Schneiderlin chips a lofted ball into the path of Long, which Tomkins is forced to deal with. He sends the ball out for a Southampton throw-in but the visitors are unable to do anything with the resulting set-piece.
Southampton immediately embark on an attack down the left wing, which Kouyate deals with by blasting the ball back up the pitch.
And we're off! Southampton get us underway, kicking from left-to-right.
The two sides are making their way onto the pitch ahead of kick-off. The air is filled with bubbles and the home fans are in fine voice as they sing with great gusto.

There's just under 15 minutes left to go until kick-off, so let's have a look at how the two teams will be lining up today…
As for Southampton, they are yet to win this season, with their opening game ending in a 2-1 defeat away to Liverpool and last weekend's goalless draw at home to West Bromwich Albion proving to be a lacklustre affair. Ronald Koeman will be desperate to pick up his side's first victory today before potentially tough clashes against Newcastle United, Swansea City and Arsenal after the international break.
West Ham United are yet to play outside of London this season and they have, on paper, had a mixed start to the campaign, narrowly losing 1-0 against Tottenham Hotspur in their opening game before going on to record an impressive 3-1 win away to Crystal Palace last weekend. Today's clash against a new-look Southampton side will no doubt be a tough one, but Sam Allardyce will be quietly confident of his side's chances of picking up another victory today.
Hello and welcome to this afternoon's live text commentary of the Premier League meeting between West Ham United and Southampton. The visitors have seen a number of their star names depart over the course of the summer and travel to Upton Park today in search of their first victory of the season.
