West Ham United
F. Lampard 21', 82'
That's all for our live-text coverage, folks. We hope you enjoyed the game! Be sure to tune in next time. All the best!
Goals from Oscar and Frank Lampard (twice) have well and truly put a poor West Ham side to the sword today. Chelsea move into the top three, while the Hammers stay fourth-bottom ahead of their crunch clash with Fulham.
IT'S ALL OVER! Chelsea run out 3-0 winners.
90' + 1'
Ba puts the ball into the net... But is given offside, with replays confirming he indeed was.
Into injury time we go. The home players will just be waiting for the full-time whistle. Ba, Ramires and Schurrle are still giving the West Ham defence a torrid time...
The Hammers win another corner late on here, their sixth of the game. How they have used them is another matter, however.
Even at 3-0 up, it is Chelsea who are doing all the pressing. It is understandable, though, given just how devoid of confidence this West Ham side look.
Michael Essien makes an immediate impact! So too does Andre Schurrle, in fact. The German picked the ball up in an advanced position and played Essien in. The Ghanaian then took a touch and produced a low shot that was dealt with by Jaaskelainen.
Game well and truly over, here.
Goal Frank Lampard
GOAL! Lampard grabs his second and Chelsea's third! West Ham fans are leaving early at Upton Park. It was Hazard who initially shot at goal, with his effort parried into the path of Lampard, The England man then did what he does best.
It is another substitute who almost makes an impact, though! Matt Jarvis of West Ham advances and is about to unleash an attempt at goal but Ivanovic gets there ahead of him.
The centre-back has since resumed action, while Demba Ba now has a chance to show what he's made of against the Hammers.
John Terry is down, receiving treatment, for Chelsea.
The clock ticks down here and Allardyce's side look to have no more answers than in the first half. Mourinho's men, meanwhile, will be more than happy with tonight's proceedings.
And Lampard then wastes a set-piece of his own at the other end of the field, driving a free kick into the wall for the visitors.
FALSE ALARM: Nothing comes of it.
ALERT: West Ham have won a corner!
BLOCK! It's the same pattern as always, just with different names! Ramires it is who this time takes a shot at goal and Collins it is who denies him with a heroic block.
Azpilicueta, meanwhile, has had another good day at left-back. Ashley Cole will have to wait for his chance to return to the Chelsea starting XI, it seems.
It is surely now or never for Allardyce's side, as far as this game is concerned. Beyond today, West Ham's lack of attacking threat is one of the most serious deficiencies in the divison and will need addressing.
CHANCE!!! Mohamed Diame spurs West Ham on from the right-hand side, delivering a dangerous cross into the area! Again, there is no final product - but the crowd are lifted as the hosts show the occasional glimpse of life.
WIDE! Eto'o looks to get in on the action once more as the Cameroonian whips an effort from the edge of the D towards the far corner. It travels just wide, though.
STAT ATTACK: West Ham have failed to score in six of their last 11 league home games. Could this be number seven?
Ivanovic is next to provide a masterclass in defending as he deals with Downing superbly down the left-hand side (his right).
James Collins now comes out of a challenge with Hazard rather worse for wear. If not for the centre-back, West Ham's 2-0 deficit may have been considerably larger by now.
Good defending from Azpilicueta cuts out a Hammers attack next, although Ivanovic had initially erred in giving the ball away to Morrison. Chelsea capitalise by breaking straight up the other end - but Oscar drives his finish, rather surprisingly, wide.
Lampard is played in at the edge of the area now and drives another low effort at goal. O'Brien gets a touch to it, though, and it doesn't trouble Jaaskelainen in the end.
A NOBLE CLEARANCE! Mark Noble is on hand to clear off the line as the visitors push forward once more. They are threatening to run away with it here before the home side can try and capitalise on their newfound lease of life.
Eto'o reminds the hosts of the threat Chelsea pose, however, with a dangerous low strike at goal. O'Brien impresses once more to cut it out.
Chelsea, moreover, have not kept a clean sheet in their last six games. There is hope out there if the Hammers are willing to believe it.
And it has indeed been all West Ham so far since the break. Allardyce will be encouraged by his side's response. One wonders just how animated he was at the half-time break.
Joey O'Brien offers some hope for West Ham! The full-back makes a good run down the left-hand side and drives an equally good cross across goal. It evades both Maiga and goalkeeper Petr Cech but at least offers up... something... for the hosts.
Is there any hope for West Ham? Or could Chelsea score enough goals to put them up to second? Stay with us for the second half to find out.
The action has resumed at Upton Park!
Ravel Morrison has been a bright spark for West Ham, while Sam Allardyce has already made a double change. Nothing less than a convincing Chelsea win looks possible here, though.
So the job is half done for Jose Mourinho's side in east London, as goals from Frank Lampard (penalty) and Oscar give them a comfortable two-goal cushion. For hosts West Ham, the outlook is bleak. Not one of their starting XI could genuinely have been said to have tried their utmost to trouble the Chelsea defence.
HALF-TIME! Chris Foy blows his whistle and Chelsea are absolutely cruising at the break. They lead 2-0 at Upton Park.
Half-time approaches and West Ham fans will be hoping they just don't concede any more before the break.
Morrison! The youngster provides a bright spark in an otherwise dreary game for the Hammers as he bursts into the Chelsea half. The move comes to nothing, though it is more due to a lack of options for Mr Morrison.
SAVE! Jaaskelainen makes a great save to deny an Eto'o strike - but that really was a great move from Chelsea. Cesar Azpilicueta and Hazard did superbly during the build-up.
SHOCKING! Sam Allardyce is making a double substitution already! That shows you just how poor his West Ham side have been so far.
Modibo Maiga will now be leading the line for the hosts, making a change from not having a recognised striker on the pitch...
CHANCE! Two familiar names are in action once again as Oscar links up with Lampard and the England man launches a long shot at goal. Over the bar it sails, though.
It looks as though West Ham are preparing a change already...
As I said before, this is hardly vintage Chelsea - but it is vintage Mourinho. Play to your strengths, get a goal, dampen this spirits of your opposition - and everything else will fall into place.
No sign of change anytime soon, then!
Assist Eden Hazard
GOAL! Oscar is at the ready once more! The Brazilian won Chelsea the penalty for their first and now has Hazard to thank for a delightful assist as he neatly finishes to put the Blues 2-0 up.
It could all change very quickly, however...
Lampard, Ramires and now the Chelsea full-backs have all been bombing forward during this first half. Things look ominous for the home side at this stage...
HEADER! Lampard looks to double his tally for the evening with a header towards the far post. The England man heads just wide - but his attacking intent is clear for all to see.
Chelsea are doing a great job of stifling the hosts at the minute. There appears to be no outlet for the Hammers' midfield.
West Ham have lined up with a clear plan to counterattack here at Upton Park - and that system will be much harder to implement now that they trail by a goal to nil.
Oscar is involved once again now as the Blues look to grab the ball and keep it as far away from the hosts as possible.
So, out of nowhere, the visitors have the lead. And, if Mourinho and his assistants have anything to do with it, that could be game over. Chelsea will surely look to shut the hosts out from hereon in.
Penalty Goal Frank Lampard
GOAL! Lampard steps up to take the penalty and blasts it past Jaaskelainen with immense power. The West Ham goalkeeper went from hero to villain very quickly there - just like he did against Norwich.
PENALTY TO CHELSEA! The Blues respond to Cole's chance with a concerted period of pressure and Oscar is eventually bundled to the floor in the box by Jussi Jaaskelainen!
BLOCK! Downing surges down the flank and plays a good cross into the penalty area! Joe Cole is there - against his old club - but his effort is blocked by John Terry!
Can the Hammers hit the visitors on the break, perhaps, today? They did it at White Hart Lane a few weeks ago - and Chelsea have not been in perfect shape in recent games...
SHOT! Oscar has a pop at goal from a reasonable distance and it heads over the bar. The Brazilian thinks it has taken a deflection but the referee is unconvinced. Goal kick given.
The set-piece comes to nothing and Mourinho's side do not look like they are offering anything special up front so far. It may just be a routine day at the office, however, as a good result does not always need a superb performance.
Chelsea attack again through Eto'o and Frank Lampard, though Guy Demel gets a block in and the Blues win a corner!
Morrison can also put the work in defensively, as he tracks a Ramires run and produces a fine tackle to dispossess the Brazilian.
Morrison now links up with Stewart Downing for West Ham, though, but the move trickles out for a goal kick. A slow but intriguing start so far here.
Samuel Eto'o now gets himself involved, before James Tomkins makes a simple clearance. Hazard initially played the ball into the Chelsea striker and has been heavily involved so far.
But Hazard resumes normal service with a run down the left and cross into the box. Branislav Ivanovic does not attack the header, though, and the chance slips away.
Ravel Morrison, however, has seen plenty of the ball so far for West Ham. The England Under-21 international has been in terrific form for both club and country in recent weeks and, if anyone can trouble Chelsea tonight, it may be him.
The ball quickly makes its way into Chelsea's possession and the likes of Jon Obi Mikel, John Terry and Eden Hazard settle into an easy pattern of passes. West Ham's line-up looks rather defensive.
We are underway in east London!
Stay tuned for all the action! Kick-off is minutes away.
West Ham, however, are at the other end of the table in 17th. Although they cannot realistically fall into the relegation zone with a defeat - due to a superior goal difference - they can move up to 14th with a win.
For Chelsea, today's trip to east London represents the chance to move third (or second with a four-goal win) in the Premier League table. Currently in fourth, the Blues can move ahead of Southampton after their 2-0 reverse at Arsenal earlier.
And for the visitors, Jose Mourinho has picked: Cech; Ivanovic, Azpilicueta, Cahill, Terry; Lampard, Ramires, Mikel, Oscar, Hazard; Eto'o. Substitutes: Schwarzer, Cole, Essien, Mata, Schurrle, Ba, Willian.
For this evening's clash at Upton Park, hosts West Ham will be lining up like this: Jaaskelainen; Demel, O'Brien, Collins, Tomkins; Noble, Downing, Collison, Nolan, Morrison, J. Cole. Substitutes: McCartney, Jarvis, Maiga, Adrian, Taylor, Diame, C. Cole.
Today's game comes on the back of an already fascinating day of football, with Everton and Liverpool already playing out a 3-3 draw and Arsenal beating Southampton 2-0 on a typically brilliant Premier League Saturday.
Good evening and welcome to live-text commentary of West Ham United against Chelsea! I'm your host Tim Poole and I'll be guiding you through the action, so sit back, relax and enjoy the game.
