Live Commentary

  • I think that the Baggies will see that as a wasted opportunity, don't you football fans? Like their opponents in the first half, they just did not show up after the break. Tim Sherwood must feel like his side won that game after a fantastic comeback, but knows that his defence, like many a game this season, cost them all three points today. They deserved the victory more but in the end it was honours even. I have been Hayden Gribble and I...need a lie down after that! Take care.
  • FULL TIME - WEST BROM 3-3 TOTTENHAM. A groan of disappointment echoes around the Hawthorns after an incredible game of football. It looked like Pepe Mel's side would bag all three points after capitalising on a woeful Spurs back four and going up 3-0 in the first half. Foster also saved Adebayor's tame penalty before Olsson's own goal. The visitors bossed the second half and Kane scored to give his side hope before Eriksen's fanstatic injury time leveller.
  • 90' + 5'
    Yellow CardBen Foster
  • 90' + 5'
The away side are still attacking and think they can win this. Townsend has been a breath fo fresh air since he came on and uses a brilliant bit of skill to evade Reid and keep the ball in play.
  • 90' + 4'
    GoalChristian Eriksen
  • 90' + 4'
TOTTENHAM EQUALISE! What a game. It's an incredible comeback from Spurs and Eriksen is the savour. Adebayor uses his head to flick the ball on and he sends it to the Danish International at the back post. He cuts inside onto his right foot and rifles it into the top corner!
  • 90' + 1'
Oh dear. Gigurdsson is clearly caught by Brunt and the referee gives nothing. In the end it is Ridgewell who puts the ball out for the Icelander to receive treatment. It was a clear foul and the referee clearly did not have his eye on the action there.

There will be SIX minutes of added time...
  • 88'
Despite going 3-0 up early on here this has been a laboured performance from West Brom. They may end up counting their lucky stars that their opponents were so awful in the first half otherwise I really couldn't see them winning this.
  • 86'
Spurs are bombarding forward at every turn. The momentum is still with them and the Baggies are getting bogged down in their own half.
  • 85'
    SubstitutionDanny Rose Andros Townsend
  • 84'
Tottenham coach Steffen Fruend is giving some advice to Andros Townsend as he prepares to enter the fray. Will he recsue a point for the visitors?
  • 83'
    Yellow CardLiam Ridgewell
  • 82'
There has been little respite for the Baggies in this half and they have not asked Spurs' defence any questions since the break. Time is running out...can the home side hold on?
  • 80'
WELL OVER! We are heading into the last ten minutes and it is Tottenham asking all the questions again. Kaboul plays it into Adebayor, who holds the ball up again and lays it off for the on rushing Rose, who blasts it into row z.
  • 78'
    SubstitutionNacer Chadli Gylfi Sigurdsson
  • 78'
    SubstitutionJonas Olsson Craig Dawson
  • 78'
The Hawthorns is a very quiet place right now as Spurs continue to probe for an equaliser. Sigurdsson comes on for Chadli...and has a reputation for goals from the bench!
  • 76'
It looks like Olsson is struggling a bit in the Baggies defence as he limps into position for another Spurs attack. He then falls to the ground in pain and it looks like Pepe Mel will be forced into a change.
  • 74'
STAT ATTACK: West Brom have drawn five of their six Premier League home games under Pepe Mel, losing the other.
  • 72'
    SubstitutionMatěj Vydra Saido Berahino
  • 72'
It's like a different team came out after the break for Spurs as they continue to look for an equaliser. The Baggies are firmly on the back foot now...and the nerves are fraying at the Hawthorns!
  • 70'

  • 70'
    GoalHarry Kane
GOAL! Game on! Tottenham's second half dominance pays off as Kane meets Lennon's cross from the right to bring the visitors right back into this!
  • 68'
WHAT A CHANCE! Harry Kane is left unmarked in the box and slides in but Chadli's through ball fails to make connection with the striker's outstretched boot and it rolls out for a goal kick.
  • 67'
BLOCKED! Some great build up play from Tottenham leads to Adebayor laying the ball off on the edge of the area for Paulinho to strike, but the Brazilian's shot is blocked well by McAuley.
  • 65'
OUCH! Kaboul goes up with Foster and he leaves his foot in and catches the keeper. He is incredibly lucky that the referee saw that as an accidental collision.
  • 64'
    Yellow CardSteven Reid
  • 63'
The Baggies continue to sit back and Kane tries to thread a ball through to Adebayor, but his pass is over hit and Foster collects.
  • 62'
    Yellow CardGraham Dorrans
  • 61'
Spurs have had the better share of the possession in this half (71 per cent) but they are failing to find a way past Foster, who has been magnificent today.
  • 60'
STAT ATTACK: Before today's game, Tottenham had made more errors leading to goals (18) than any other team in the top flight this season.
  • 58'
    SubstitutionStéphane Sessegnon Claudio Yacob
  • 57'
Albion have struggled to get into this second half and if it were not for their first half advantage then many a set of nails would now be bitten through the remaining half hour. The away support are doing their best to rouse their side, who have let them down this afternoon so far.
  • 55'
    Yellow CardDanny Rose
  • 55'
PENALTY APPEAL! Rose takes another tumble in the box but this time the referee takes to his pocket and books the Spurs left-back. It was a clear dive and the yellow card is richly deserved.
  • 54'
FOSTER AGAIN! The England keeper is keeping his side in the lead here as Eriksen shoots from the right and brings another great save from the stopper.
  • 52'
ANOTHER GREAT SAVE FROM FOSTER! Lennon picks up Naughton's ball on the right and comes onto his left foot before striking with his left foot and sending the Baggies' keeper into an athletic save.
  • 51'
WIDE! Rose takes a swing with his right foot in the same spot as Brunt hammered the home side's second goal in from but sees his effort drift away from Foster's goal.
  • 49'
The Baggies have taken their foot off the gas a little here and it is Tottenham who are doing the probing as Eriksen moves in from the left-hand-side and swaps positions with Chadli to kickstart some creativity for the visitors.
  • 47'
BLOCKED! Spurs have an early chance with a free-kick in a central position roughly 30 yard out. Eriksen eyes the goal up, but his shot is blocked in the box by Olsson and the visitors fail to make anything of the rebound.
  • 46'
    SubstitutionVlad Iulian Chiricheş Ezekiel Fryers
  • 46'
Tottenham get us back underway, with Fryers replacing Chiriches at the back during the break.
  • Will there be changes during the break? West Brom might want to shore things up at the back to ensure that a comeback is not on the cards. For Spurs, it is vital that they score the next goal. Can they salvage a result from what has been a terrible afternoon for them so far today?
  • HALF TIME - WEST BROM 3-1 TOTTENHAM. It's been a mad, mad, MAD first half of football here at the Hawthorns. The Baggies raced into a two goal lead within four minutes and then added a third after shocking defending from Spurs, who have been shambolic at the back. Foster saved Adebayor's tame penalty effort and Kane should have scored a tap in but Olsson's own goal may have given the visitors hope for the second half.
  • 45'
There will be TWO minutes of added on time.
  • 43'
I wouldn't want to be in the visitor's dressing room come half time! Kane trips Mulumbu after losing the ball on the edge of the Baggies' penalty area. It wasn't a good challenge from the striker.
  • 41'
STAT ATTACK: Spurs are unbeaten in their last eight league games against West Brom (W4, D4).
  • 38'
The level of intensity has certainly gone up from the visitors and if it were for better finishing then they would probably be level! The Baggies will be wanting a fourth here to kill the game.
  • 36'
WHAT A SAVE! Tottenham are almost reborn after that goal and Foster two magnificent saves to keep the visitors out of this game! Paulinho let's fly from 20 yards and the England keeper palms it away to Rose, who must surely score, until Foster recovers to clear again. Brilliant stuff.
  • 34'
    Own GoalJonas Olsson
  • 34'
GOAL! What a crazy, crazy game. Kane spots Lennon out wide who gets past Ridgewell and sends a low cross into the box. Olsson slides in to cut it out but he ends up turning the ball into the back of his own net. It's a lifeline for Spurs, but not a deserved one.
  • 31'
    GoalStéphane Sessegnon
GOAL! This is getting ridiculous. Sessegnon beats Chriches one-on-one and bears down on goal before slotting the ball past the on-rushing Lloris. West Brom are into dreamland. For Tottenham, it's another defensive calamity. You'd have thought they were struggling near the bottom of the table!
  • 30'
With half an hour gone, this game is incredibly open. Both sides are charging forward but struggling to create chances to add to the scoreline.
  • 28'
The visitors are trying to build some momentum here but they are being shut out by the Baggies. Paulinho manages to find some space but powers his low effort straight at Foster.
  • 26'
GREAT SAVE! West Brom are making Spurs look like Sunday league amateurs. Rose goes missing from his left back position and leaves ample room for Sessegnon to power a shot at goal, but Lloris dives into action and palms it over the bar for a corner.
  • 24'
STAT ATTACK: Emmanuel Adebayor has missed just two penalties in the Premier League. Both came against West Brom and both were saved by Ben Foster.
  • 22'
The Tottenham back four continue to look less than formidable as Sessegnon breaks forward and tries to wriggle past Chiriches and Kaboul but they manage to clear the danger...eventually.
  • 20'
STAT ATTACK: Vydra's opener was West Brom's quickest goal in Premier League history.
  • 18'
Ridgwell takes a free-kick towards McAuley who heads it down in the area but Naughton is able to clear. The visitors still looked shell shocked here.
  • 16'
    Penalty saveBen Foster
  • 16'
    Missed PenaltyEmmanuel Adebayor
SAVED! What is happening in this game!? Adebayor steps up and strokes it with no power towards the bottom corner but Foster smothers it. It was a daisy cutter from the striker. It's another embarassing game for the North London side so far this afternoon.
  • 14'
PENALTY TO TOTTENHAM! Controversy here as Danny Rose looks like he has thrown himself to ground under a challenge from Reid and the referee points to the spot!
  • 12'
MISS! Oh, Harry Kane. That was an easy chance! Rose flies down the left and is left in an acre of space to put a low ball into the striker, who is unmarked but hammers his shot into the advertising board.
  • 11'
The away side are starting to settle into this game as Adebayor brings the ball down 18 yards out but is crowded out by the Baggies' defence.
  • 9'
HIGH AND WIDE! The Hawthorns is rocking here as Brunt has another go with a looping effort from the left hand side of the box, but his shot clears Lloris' goal and Spurs can regroup.
  • 7'
WIDE! Adebayor and Kane link well, the Togo striker laying his stirke partner off on the edge of the box but the youngster can only send his low shot narrowly past the post.
  • 6'
Tim Sherwood stands arms crossed in the dugout, staring at the mess his side has created early on. Terrible start from the visitors.
  • 4'
    GoalChris Brunt
GOAL! Spurs are all sixes and sevens and Brunt doubles West Brom's lead! Again a cross from the right causes nerves in the box and the midfielder volleys it past a disgruntled Lloris to send the home fans into delirium!
  • 3'
PENALTY APPEAL! Spurs really have not settled well in to this game. Paulinho sends Sessegnon tumbling in the box but the referee gives nothing. The Brazilian made minimal contact with the midfielder there.
  • 1'
    GoalMatěj Vydra
GOAL! The home side take an early lead and what a start it is! Amalfitano beats Rose with a cross from the right which is palmed away by Lloris straight to Vydra, who strikes low past the French keeper and into the back of the net.
  • 1'
The Baggies get us underway, kicking from left to right.
  • Both teams line up in the tunnel, with the away side in their changed sky blue kit. There will be a minute silence for the 96 Liverpool fans who tragically died at Hillsborough a quarter of a century ago. Both sides are also wearing black armbands.
  • TEN MINUTES TO KICK-OFF! Will the Baggies emerge victorious and pull themselves further away from the drop zone? Or will the Lilywhites keep their slim chances of Champions League football next season alive? Let's find out!
  • PRE MATCH STAT ATTACK: Spurs have only ever been beaten by West Brom twice in the Premier League, both at the Hawthorns and both on the same day (28th December in 2005 and 2008).
  • Just a reminder to you all that this match is kicking off seven minutes later than planned in commemoration of the Hillsborough tragedy which happened 25 years ago next Tuesday. This kick-off time applies at games across the country.
  • Meanwhile the visitors are unchanged from their impressive 5-1 thrashing of Sunderland on Monday which has delivered a glimmer of hope of Champions League qualification for Tim Sherwood’s men. Eighteen-year-old Harry Winks takes his place on the bench for only the second time in his young Spurs career as does Serbian defender Milos Veljkovic, who made his debut late on in Monday’s match.
  • This is a must win game for Pepe Mel’s side, with the Baggies teetering on the brink of a scrap to stay out of the bottom three and he has made one change to the side who grabbed an important 1-0 win against Norwich last time out. Chris Brunt returns after a month on the sidelines and replaces James Morrison.
  • Tottenham (4-4-2): Lloris; Naughton, Chiriches, Kaboul, Rose; Lennon, Chadli, Paulinho, Eriksen; Adebayor, Kane. Subs: Friedel, Fryers, Veljkovic, Bentaleb, Sigurdsson, Townsend, Winks.
  • West Brom (4-4-1-1): Foster; Reid, McAuley, Olsson, Ridgewell; Amalfitano, Mulumbu, Brunt, Dorrans; Sessegnon; Vydra. Subs: Myhill, Berahino, Jones, Bifouma, Yacob, Anichebe, Dawson.
  • Good afternoon and welcome to our coverage of this Premier League clash between relegation threatened West Brom and top four chasers Tottenham. My name is Hayden Gribble and I will be bringing you all the action from a match that I am hoping will bring us many twists and turns and, of course, goals. But first, let’s have a look at the two teams...
