West Brom just didn't have enough quality anywhere on the field today. Hodgson is a capable manager but his talent pool appears to be lacking. The Baggies drop to 15th place on 26 points with the dire home loss.
90' + 4'
Full-time! West Brom 1-2 Swansea City. A fantastic result for Brendan Rodgers and the Swans who might just be the story of the season if their outstanding form continues. They're now in the top half of the table in tenth place!
90' + 3'
It's all or nothing here. Fortune working excellently. But it appears for naught. The ball is out for a goal-kick, and that should do it...
90' + 2'
Fortune almost scores after slicing down the right side but Vorm makes a nice save! That was close and came from little. West Brom are pressuring. Their fans are going nuts. It's into the box again but hacked away from the Swans' defense.
Yellow CardNicky Shorey
The fourth official holds up three minutes of added time. That's three minutes for Swansea to take all there points for only the second time this season but the second time this year!
Another excellent display from Nathan Dyer. What's that, 15 on the trot, or so? Rodgers takes off one of his two star wingers in an attempt to preserve three special away points.
I hate to beat a dead horse here, but West Brom are down 2-1 at home to these Premier League newboys with five minutes left yet Swansea are passing the ball around as if they had keys to the city!
Swansea almost scored there. Rangel sent in Dyer who's shot was reflected back to Sigurdsson. He fired also but that was also blocked against the odds. The Baggies attack through Tchoyi. He's got stars in his eyes though and dawdles on the ball. Cox finally fires one in but it's straight at Vorm yet again.
Odemwingie has been thoughtless in attack today. He spurns another chance under little pressure for no ascertainable reason. The ball is back with the visitors now and the Baggies can again have themselves to blame.
Sinclair sends in a sweet cross from his weaker foot and Dyer almost connects with the header. Swansea passing it around with Britton and Allen, using Sigurdsson when necessary. It's mature from the visitors!
Yellow CardJames Morrison
Shorey sends it in but it's cleared by Caulker. Possession still with West Brom, though, and Scharner fires from range but it's right at Vorm.
Scharner is bringing some needed composure to the middle of the home side. They've 15 minutes to equalize. The Baggies are passing the ball much better at the moment, and win a free-kick outside the Swansea penalty area.
Hodgson uses his last two subs. Might as well. At the moment they're receiving nothing from the game.
Dorrans fires for West Brom. It's deflected, and Odemwingie is wide open inside the box! But he shanks his shot over the bar. On a clear day, it's a shocker. Today -- merely a bad miss.
Swansea attack again. Graham manages to skin his defender, not for the first time, and Dyer almost trickles the ball inside Foster's right post. The home side just can't clear their lines.
The two sides are playing ping pong with a soccer ball in the snow here at the Hawthorns.
What a stretch that was, for the players and the match commentators alike! And now, normal service is resumed: Swansea control possession, West Brom occasionally pass the ball out of bounds. Baggies boss Hodgson is bringing on Scharner to replace the poor Mulumbu.
The Swans take the lead! Man-of-the-match so far, Sigurdsson, sends in a peach of a cross for Graham to slot home in close. Rodger's side are deserved leaders, but the Baggies allowed the Icelander far too much time and space... and what a cross it was!
Swansea are having none of it! They attack immediately from the kick-off and profit themselves! Sigurdsson handles the cut-back with aplomb to equalize for the better side. 1-1! And now, a match.
And we have! West Brom earn two corners in succession, the second finding Fortune at the far post for him to slot in left-footed! 1-0 West Brom!
Dyer cracks one from outside the box and it barely fizzes past Foster's top corner. If the Baggies allow him space like that again we might actually get a goal today!
Swansea begin the second half as they played most of the first, in control and on the attack. West Brom are granted a brief respite, but try to do too much and let Rodger's side build again...
The home side kick off to begin the second half for the two unchanged sides.
45' + 1'
Half-time! The referee blows his whistle just after dismissing a penalty claim from the visitors. Haven't seen the replay yet but it could be a make-up call. Regardless, the two teams will now defrost in the locker rooms after the nil-all first half.
Yellow CardLeon Britton
Dorrans sends in a free kick that Olsson flicks on. However, Vorm has made a fantastic reflex save. Swansea counter quickly to win a corner themselves! The pace has really picked up in the last five minutes. Perhaps the players are excited to get warm inside the locker rooms!
Fortune rises, but it's cleared off the line! The rebound is volleyed goalwards but it's blocked. Baggies enjoying their best spell of the match.
Nice cross from Dorrans, but Rangel ushers it out under pressure from Thomas. West Brom corner though. Can they turn the corner, as it were? Pardon...
The snow is piling down on the players! Perhaps the worsening weather is hampering the home side. They'd do better to put their foot on the ball and pass it around, when they can, instead of forcing it forward needlessly.
The home fans won't take too much more of this. On the bright side, they're still level despite being wholly outplayed. Rangel makes it to the byline but his cross bears no fruit.
West Brom are now defending much higher up the pitch. They manage to force an error from the visitors, but their own attack peeters out meekly.
Clever build-up from the visitors. Ultimately Allen chips in for Graham, who turns inside the box to fire over Foster's bar. One of the better chances of the day so far.
The home side can't even get the ball out of their half at the moment. Little quality on offer from the boys in white. Morrison, under duress, drives the ball out of bounds for yet another turnover.
Yet again, Swansea passing around the back, working it up to Sigurdsson, Dyer, and Sinclair. When the hosts finally get the ball, they hoof it forward and turn it over straight away.
A rare Baggies attack fizzles when Odemwingie's first touch is sloppy. Caulker is having a good match against him so far. Morrison gets some space from 20 yards out but it's straight at Vorm.
Swansea on the attack again. Dyer just about plays in partner-in-crime Sinclair but goalkeeper Foster just nicks it out at the last minute. Sigurdsson's corner is headed out-of-bounds by Rangel.
Oh dear! West Brom's first corner comes back out to Shorey. He curled it in to McAuley but Williams clearly and intentionally handled the ball. Referee Moss didn't see it, though, despite it being fairly egregious!
Sigurdsson is having an excellent match so far. He's linked up play at every opportunity. He takes a free-kick from just outside the box, but curls it just wide.
Swansea have enjoyed 70% of possession so far despite being the worst away team in the top flight this season.
The Swans control for almost there minutes straight before Sigurdsson flicks on to Graham who crosses for Sinclair, but it's just out of his reach. The Baggies finally get the ball back but can't even get out of their half!
Apparently form matters: Swansea are passing the ball around willy-nilly as if they're at the Liberty. Still early here, though!
Odemwingie drives at the Swans defense but it's cut out.
After the two sides exchange brief spells of possession, Swansea get forward to win the first corner of the game. The corner was well-worked to Sigurdsson but he and Rangel each shanked their shots in succession. The latter was deflected but the visitors could not profit from their second corner kick either.
We are underway! Swansea are in their changed orange strip. Baggies are their traditional striped home get-up.
It'll be interesting to see if the Swans can translate their rampant home form into a second away win this season. West Brom might be the place to do it. Baggies have only won one game in six, while the Welsh club have only lost one match over the same stretch.
Swansea: Vorm; Williams, Taylor, Caulker, Rangel; Britton, Allen, Sigurdsson, Sinclair, Dyer; Graham. SUBS: Tremmel, Monk, Routledge, McEachran, Agustien, Lita, Moore.
