Fortunate to see the offside flag against Kasami after spilling Dempsey’s shot, but made a wonder save to deny Ruiz.
Kept an eye on Kasami but could never get into the opposition half as his side were penned in.
Had to make a few big clearances both with his feet and his head to keep Fulham at bay. Formed a good partnership with McAuley.
Terrific last-ditch challenges to deny Sa on his Premier League debut and will have pleased his manager with his performance. Announced as the sponsors' man of the match.
Made a good sliding challenge on Sa as he tried to break and was able to prevent crosses coming in from the left.
A few decent challenges aside, he failed to adequately control Dembele who was given far too much space. But he was good going forward and played a brilliant through ball to Odemwingie who should have scored.
A good early cross created a difficult chance for Brunt, but he saw little of the ball afterwards and did not defend as well as he could have. Won a dangerous free-kick after going past Grygera.
Grew into the match and looked his side's best threat from set-pieces he delivered before hitting the post late on with a great strike.
A largely peripheral figure in the centre, unable to get a grip on Murphy in front of him or Dembele behind him. His passing unusually let him down as well.
It’s lucky he has a lot of good-will from last season to fall back on as he put in a dismal performance. Started on the right, but could not keep the ball and when placed back in the middle he shot straight at Schwarzer when played in by Mulumbu.
As always he ran hard but was too isolated up front in the first half. After the break he had more support and troubled the Fulham defence. Hit one curled effort over.
Routine saves from Brunt and Reid in the first half before denying Odemwingie as he ran in on goal. Hurt himself after falling heavily following a punched clearance.
Misjudged one header which allowed Long free down the left and let Odemwingie get away for his chance. Looked more comfortable in the first half.
Had little attacking threat to worry about so was able to get forward plenty of times. Put in a good, whipped cross which Olsson did well to deal with.
Kept Long under check and quashed West Brom attacks without too much trouble in the first half. Booked for fouling the striker.
Another one making his Premier League debut, the Czech kept Thomas under control most of the time and managed to get forward on a few occasions, but his crossing wasn’t very threatening. Booked for bringing the winger down.
Like Murphy he put in a quality performance, finding space between midfield and defence and creating chances for his team, but his poor finishing let him down.
Was marginally offside after sticking the ball in the back of the net.
A good foil for Murphy in midfield, both with the ball and defensively.
A stunning first half from the midfielder as he completely dominated possession. The home side could not get a kick as he continually found Dembele in space or his team-mates out wide.
The American had the shot parried by Foster which almost saw Kasami give them the lead. Given a relatively free reign, he popped up in space and linked up well with the forwards.
Thought he might have scored but saw McAuley make a great block to deny him twice. Seemed to be on a similar wave-length to Dembele, but shot wildly over when well placed late on.
