FULL TIME! 3-1 to Chelsea, and they were well worth it. Drogba back to his best and keeping Torres out of the team. West Brom suffered their first defeat under Roy Hodgson, but if they can put this result behind them, they have enough to avoid relegation.
West Brom break well, and Odemwingie chips the ball over a sliding John Terry, but it just bounces through to Cech, agonising stuff for Odemwingie.
Carlos Vela beats the offside trap down the left wing, and he picks out Brunt in acres of space, but he plants his header straight at the chest of Petr Cech, a poor effort.
Chris Brunt has a free-kick around the 30-yard mark, and his effort is swept just wide or Cech's post.
Oh Fernando. Torres gets on and with one of his first touches he has the ball in the net after rounding Carson, but he's offside! And it really is fractionally.
A chance for Odemwingie to get the Baggies back in the game, but after he's slotted through, John Terry recovers well and puts enough pressure on the striker to force him to strike over.
Chelsea looking completely dominant now, in search of a fourth goal and not too far away from grabbing it.
No sign of Torres just yet, but it has to be said Drogba has been on top form today, back to his bullying best at the focal point of attack.
Chris Brunt unleashes a thunderbolt with his left foot from 25 yards, but it was always headed wide. I fear for the fan who got behind that one though.
Chelsea put together a wonderful sweeping move from back to front, but Malouda's lobbed through pass ust evades Drogba. Some wonderful football on display.
Kalou gets down the left before cutting inside Chris Brunt and shooting, only for his shot to deflect up and over Carson before bouncing back off the crossbar.
A poor attempt at a clearance by Nicky Shorey gives the ball straight to Malouda, who checks inside before smashing in an effort which was well saved by Carson.
West Brom beginning to get some sort of a foothold in the game, and Ancelotti is on the edge of his technical area trying to get some instructions out.
Chelsea have the ball in the net for a fourth time, but Malouda was marginally offside when Drogba played him through. The Albion still looking ropey in defence.
West Brom looking brighter since half time, earning a corner which comes to nothing.
And Chelsea get us underway for the second half.
Assist Florent Malouda
Goal Frank Lampard
HALF TIME. Chelsea ahead and comfortable after an early set-back, and this game is as good as over. Will Torres appear in the second half to carry on the hunt for his illusive first Chelsea goal?
Game over. And it's poor defending from West Brom again, trying to play Malouda offside from Drogba's pass and failing. Malouda speeds into the box before laying it back to Frank Lampard, who slots the ball into the bottom corner. So simple, and so effective.
Chelsea looking in complete control, with Michael Essien looking strong in the centre of the pitch and Ashley Cole impressing as he bombs on down the left wing.
From the resulting free-kick, Frank Lampard zips in an effort, and Carson pushes it over the bar. West Brom really on the ropes at the moment.
Yellow Card Abdoulaye Meite
The first booking of the day goes to Abdoulaye Meite after sliding in on Drogba.
West Brom fans won't like the sound of this stat - Chelsea have only dropped 4 points from winning positions in the league this season; the fewest in the Premier League.
Fernando Torres, sitting on the bench today, will be wishing he could get out on the pitch and amongst the goals with the way the West Brom defence are playing.
Assist Didier Drogba
Goal Salomon Kalou
GOAL FOR KALOU! Drogba's shot is spilled by Scott Carson, and Kalou is only too happy to pop the ball into the back of the net.
Goal Didier Drogba
GOAL FOR DROGBA! The Chelsea striker has repaid the faith shown in him by Carlo Ancelotti, as he pokes home after Florent Malouda's low cross from the left.
Assist Jerome Thomas
Goal Peter Odemwingie
GOAL FOR ODEMWINGIE! The striker is played in by Jerome Thomas after he lost his marker - captain John Terry - and he lifts a great finish over the top of Cech for his 12th goal of the season.
Kalou is played in down the right by Michael Essien, but his shot is high and wide of the near post.
A shot from Youssouf Mulumbu flies over. West Brom not looking nervous today.
And the referee gets us started, with Chelsea in their luminous green away strip.
Welcome to Goal.com's live coverage of West Bromwich Albion v Chelsea. With speculation about Carlo Ancelotti's job circulating the press, the manager has made the bold decision to drop Fernando Torres and Nicolas Anelka for his side's trip to the Hawthorns. Will it pay off though?
