Sagna's cross headed away, and the hosts break with fluidity. Cristian Rodriguez leads the charge, but after teeing up Luis Suarez ahead of him, the striker is penalised for a challenge on Koscielny.
  • 85'
Eguren brings the ball forward, linking well with Gaston Ramirez, but France clean up at the back amidst a thunderous roar from the Centenaro faithful here in Montevideo.
  • 84'
Clement Grenier, who has been linked with a move away to Lyon, and more specifically to Arsenal - has enjoyed a productive 20 minutes on his international debut. Great potential there.
  • 82'
Mandanda with a rather awkward stop to keep the ball out of the goal, as Uruguay aim for a game-defining second goal. France have looked rather lethargic in this second period. They'll have to step it up against Brazil on Sunday.
  • 80'
Sagna attempts to start a move on the overlap, as France continue to gain an advantage on the wings in the final ten minutes of play. Uruguay holding strong, as Caceres clears.
  • 79'
CABAYE! Wow, it's only narrowly wide of the goal. France's best chance of the second half, as Cabaye slams a shot on the half-volley, it appears that it's taken a touch off Gomis, but it bobbles just past Muslera's right post.
  • 78'
Grenier does well to keep the ball in and resurrect France's attack, he tees up Yohan Cabaye on the far side, as Les Bleus pile on the pressure late on.
  • 77'
We've had 11 substitutions so far - six for Uruguay and five for France - bear with us, it is an international friendly after all!
  • 76'
    Substitution Blaise Matuidi Yohan Cabaye
  • 75'
SUBSTITUTION - France - Captain Blaise Matuidi is off for les Bleus, and is replaced by Yohan Cabaye of Newcastle - who also takes the armband.
  • 73'
CHANCE FOR FRANCE! At the other end, les Bleus counter, with a lovely move from Payet, feeding in Gomis behind the defensive line, but great work from Scotti to tackle the ball away for a corner.
  • 71'
    Yellow Card Laurent Koscielny
  • 71'
    Substitution Á. Pereira Cristian Rodríguez
  • 71'
SUAREZ! Close from Uruguay once more. Lovely run forward from the Liverpool striker, and after evading a sliding challenge, the ball runs too far to get a decent shot away. The cross, instead, runs into the arms of Mandanda.
  • 70'
SUBSTITUTION - Uruguay - Alvaro Pereira off, replaced by Cristian Rodriguez. - A number of changes from La Celeste, which has punctuated the flow of the game.
  • 69'

  • 67'
    Substitution Etienne Capoue Josuha Guilavogui
  • 67'
Payet with the ball back to Mandanda, who restarts the French offensive with a long ball. It seems to me that the two sides have switched comparatively in play. It's Uruguay who are on top now, with France unable to plough forward.
  • 66'
    Substitution Edinson Cavani Abel Hernández
  • 65'
SUBSTITUTION: Uruguay - Edinson Cavani off - Abel Hernandez on.
  • 64'
Gaston Ramirez wins a free-kick after being challenge dunfairly. Oscar Tabarez continues his substitutions - which are doing much to alter the rhythm of the game so far.
  • 63'
    Yellow Card Bafetimbi Gomis
  • 63'
YELLOW CARD - Bafetimbi Gomis in the book little under four minutes after comign on following a poor challenge.
  • 61'
Olivier Giroud hauled off by Deschamps after a pretty invisible night up front. Gourcuff too hasn't impressed, after he missed a sitter in the first half. On come Lyon duo Laczette and Gomis.
  • 59'
SUBSTIUTION: Yoann Gourcuff off - Alexandre Lacazette on.
  • 59'
SUBSTITUTION: France - Olivier Giroud off, Bafetimbi Gomis on.
  • 58'
    Substitution Yoann Gourcuff Alexandre Lacazette
  • 58'
    Substitution Olivier Giroud Bafetimbi Gomis
  • 58'
And that set-piece fails to bring about a France equaliser, as Laurent Koscielny heads over the bar. Deschamps brings on his substitutes on now.
  • 57'
Corner taken by Valbuena, and comes off a Uruguay defender after Etienne Capoue headed towards goal. Another corner signalled.
  • 56'
Suarez has revitalised the Uruguayans since coming on after half-time. Superb run, but the shot lacks that bit of power to trouble Mandanda. Uruguay on top in the second half.
  • 55'
France readying a double substitution here as Didier Deschamps gives a final instruction to Bafetimbi Gomis - does that signal the end for Olivier Giroud?
  • 53'
Great run and cross from Diego Forlan on the far side to try and tee up Luis Suarez through the middle, but Mangala gets across to hoof the ball away.
  • 51'
Statistic: France have not won a game in South America since 2001 - as Suarez chases a loose ball once more, but Mandanda rushes out to meet it.
  • 50'
    Assist Maxi Pereira
  • 50'
    Goal Luis Suárez
GOAL! URUGUAY 1-0 FRANCE! It's the Liverpool striker Luis Suarez who has found the net. Brilliant physical strength to hold off Eliaquim Mangala and fire narrowly past Steve Mandanda.
  • 50'
Superb finish from Suarez, who breaks the deadlock here. Lovely pass from Alvaro Pereira to create the chance. What can France do to reverse this now?
  • 46'

  • 46'
UNDERWAY IN THE SECOND HALF! Confirmation on the substitutions in a second.
  • The sides are out for the second half, and there will be a spate of substitutions.
  • HALF-TIME: We've reached the interval at Estadio Centenario in Montevideo, and France have been the likelier to score. Chances from Matuidi, Payet and Gourcuff have been well dealt with by Fernando Muslera - a highlight in the Uruguay goal, but La Celeste have been unable to trouble Steve Mandanda at the opposite end.
  • 45'
    HALF-TIME: Uruguay 0-0 France.
  • 44'
Coming upto the end of the first half, and still no breakthrough, France on top at the minute, but again Muslera is having a comfortable evening, keeping les Bleus at arm's length.
  • 42'
France very comfortable at the back, with the likes of Mangala and Tremoulinas - still inexperienced at this levle with Mangala playing in his international debut - doing well to limit the offensive threat posed by La Celeste.
  • 41'
France applying some extra width in their play now with Bacary Sagna racing forward to join the attack. The ball into the box is a swift one, and it's well dealt with by the Uruguayan defence.
  • 40'
PAYET! Once more, the Lille attacker chooses to strike from distance, and it's a comfortable take for Fernando Muslera. Edging towards the end of the first half.
  • 39'
GOURCUFF! What a chance, and it's wasted. Poor effort from the Lyon man who is played on throughout the entire counter-attack. Initially offside, he waits to receive the ball once he's in a favourable position, and then the shot is saved by Muslera!
  • 37'
Free-kick won by Cavani, conceded by Eliaquim Mangala. Curled in by Forlan, and it's headed away easily by Laurent Koscielny. France on the counter-attack.
  • 35'
There's a France player limping, and surprise surprise it's Yoann Gourcuff, who seems to have done his shin. He's OK at the minute however.
  • 33'
    Yellow Card Maxi Pereira
  • 33'
Payet has been rather busy this evening, but where his finishing had been of a decent level before - it isn't now. Strikes the ball firm, but it's an easy save for Muslera, before the winger fires well over the roof with a shocking effort from outside the area.
  • 32'
Tellow card to Maxi Pereira - the first of the game after persistent fouling. Half an hour in, and it remains Uruguay 0-0 France.
  • 30'
PAYET! Superb chance, after a brilliant run - and that's a great save from Muslera to match it! Payet beats Pereira, then Lugano before cutting in and curling towards the far post. Beaten away by the goalkeeper.
  • 29'
CLOSE! The free-kick goes close, with Matuidi and Mangala racing forward to try to get a last touch onto the ball, trickles out of play in the end.
  • 28'
Valbuena gets into a tangle with Maxi Pereira, and wins a free-kick for his troubles. For the set-piece, the referee uses the vanishing spray - yes, really - to mark out the spot! Well, that's a first - for me anyway....
  • 27'
Tremoulinas races forward, linking well with Payet on the left-wing, but once more, the final pass is lacking as the move breaks down. France unable to penetrate the defence as of yet.
  • 25'
Payet with the ball up towards Giroud, but the control lets down the Arsenal striker, who is beaten to the ball by Liverpool's Sebastien Coates. Gourcuff with a half-chance, but he can't get a good touch on the ball either.
  • 24'
Valbuena loses out to Alvaro Pereira on the touchline as Uruguay aim to conslidate their lion's share of possession. But France break, with regularity once more, but Giroud unable to link up with those behind him.
  • 22'
Poor effort that was from Matuidi, who has fired them in from that sort of position for Paris Saint-Germain this season gone by. Uruguay leading with 56% possession, but it's France who look likely to score.
  • 21'
MATUIDI! What a chance, and he's wasted it. Lovely ball from Gourcuff to release the captain, and after getting past Lugano, and faced with Muslera, he fires over the bar!
  • 20'
Capoue fouled by Gargano in what has been an increasingly tetchy furst half so far. Neither side have been able to find some rhythm so far.
  • 19'
Gourcuff with a wayward shot that whistles easily past Fernando Muslera's goal, bringing boos and jeers from the home faithful inside Estadio Centenario. Not one of his best to be honest.
  • 17'
Valbuena with a fine lofted effort to release Payet on the wing, but Martin Caceres does fantastically well to get in on time to deny the Lille winger further progress.
  • 16'
CAVANI! Great attempt, in the end a comfortable save from Mandanda - who in the end got down easily to deal with the shot. The Napoli star produced a fine hooked effort over his shoulder, but lacking power to trouble the goalkeeper.
  • 14'
Decent delivery from Pereira in towards the middle where Cavani is lurking. Nevertheless, Mangala concedes a free-kick for a rash challenge on Lodeiro.
  • 13'
Statistic from Opta - Mathieu Valbuena has been involved in five of France's last six goals in all competitions - three goals and two assists!
  • 12'
VALBUENA! Fantastic effort, and a great save from Fernando Muslera. The Marseille attacker is allowed to progress up the field and lets fly from distance. It's a stinging effort, and it's parried out for a corner.
  • 10'
CACERES! First real chance of the game and it's fallen to the defender. Great delivery from Forlan, with Caceres rising highest, but the ball whistles narrowly over Steve Mandanda's bar.
  • 9'
Turning pretty physical already early on, as Cavani is the next player to take a tumble on the back of a heavy challenge. Walter Gargano wins a corner from Benoit Tremoulinas.
  • 8'
Ouch! Matuidi bodychecks Diego Forlan, who is sent stumbling. La Celeste take the free-kick early, but the ball trickles towards Mandanda, who wastes no time in hoofing the ball to safety.
  • 7'
Slow start to matters here in Montevideo, where it is late afternoon local time. Capoue again penalised for a challenge on Pereira, but Uruguay progress.
  • 5'
Foul on Arevalo Rios by Etienne Capoue brings a few boos from the home faithful as Koscielny tries to hook the ball away. He wins a free-kick from the Paraguayan referee for his efforts.
  • 4'
Steve Mandanda of Olympique de Marseille in goal for France tonight, having been picked ahead of Hugo Lloris after a productive Ligue 1 season at club level. Between mid-March and early May, OM had not conceded a goal. Mandanda has been rather sketchy on the international stage since losing his number one jersey at the end of 2008-09.
  • 4'
France played Uruguay in Didier Deschamps' first match as national team boss back in August, following Euro 2012 - that game ended 0-0. Hopefully, there'll be further chances tonight!
  • 3'
Excitement building inside the Centenario, as a wonderful lofted ball finds Nicolas Lodeiro in the middle of the park, he tees up Cavani, who cannot find a man in the area.
  • 2'
PAYET! With the early chance, and it's fired narrowly wide of the goal. Decent chance created by the Lille attacker, as Caceres is forced to challenge Olivier Giroud in order to win a goal-kick.
  • 1'
