FULL TIME! All over and another wonderful comeback from Spurs sees them beat Liverpool 2-1! Over to Wayne Veysey for a final word: "Another stunning comeback from Spurs after Liverpool gave them an inch in the second half and 'Arry's entertainers took a mile. Ironically, it was Hodgson's side's best away display of the season but Spurs banged and banged on the back door, Liverpool retreated and finally caved in. Bale and Modric were again superb even though Meireles and Lucas dominated the midfield for most of the game. Just when we thought Spurs couldn't keep conceding a deficit, they go and grab victory from the jaws of defeat. Unbelievable".
  • 90' + 5'
ALMOST 3-0! Brilliant, stuff by Spurs who takes the ball from the half way line, twists past Skrtel before sliding a shot narrowly wide!
  • 90' + 4'
Spurs make their last change with substitute Defoe substituted and Sandro coming on for the final few minutes.
  • 90' + 2'
    Assist Peter Crouch
  • 90' + 2'
    Substitution Jermain Defoe Sandro
  • 90' + 2'
    Goal Aaron Lennon
  • 90' + 2'
GOAL! SPURS SCORE AND THIS ONE WILL COUNT! A long ball is punted forward, Konchesky hesitates, Lennon latches onto it and shows great composure to coolly slot past Reina!
  • 90' + 1'
We will have FIVE minutes of stoppage time at the end of the game...
  • 90'
The play switches straight down the other end with Liverpool crossing for Torres but Gomes getting there just ahead of the Spaniard to punch clear!
  • 89'
GOAL FOR SPURS! NO, WAIT, IT'S BEEN DISALLOWED! Drama at the Lane. Lennon heads the ball onto Defoe who volleys past Reina! The striker thinks he's won it. The assistant referee has other ideas and it's ruled out!
  • 88'
    Yellow Card Glen Johnson
  • 88'
Yellow card for Johnson after he brings Bale down. The full-back is unimpressed with the booking whilst Bale has some treatment although he should be OK to continue.
  • 87'
    Substitution Jamie Carragher Sotirios Kyrgiakos
  • 86'
Jamie Carragher is being helped off with the physio holding his arm. However, his replacement Kyriagos isn't quite ready and Carragher gestures furiously at the bench for him to hurry up!
  • 85'
Concern for Liverpool as Carragher slumps to the ground. He looks as though he's hurt his wrist and he also looks as though he may not be able to continue.
  • 84'
Great effort by Meireles! The Liverpool No.4 lets fly with a tremendous effort which beats Gomes, but also fizzes just past the post! Only just though.
  • 82'
Now Liverpool come forward but Johnson's cross sails harmlessly straight into Gomes' grasp. Still a goal now for either side would surely win it.
  • 80'
Spurs are getting closer! Crouch stands one up for Defoe who can't control but the ball comes to Bale who is lurking. He shoots but Reina does well to block and Liverpool escape.
  • 77'
After that substitution, Kuyt has gone up front alongside Torres, with Maxi playing wide right. The Dutchman then finds Meireles who tries to dink a little ball into the box but ends up simply lobbing the ball into Gomes' arms.
  • 74'
    Substitution David Ngog Fabio Aurelio
  • 74'
David Ngog has picked up an injury and he hobbles off. Roy Hodgson opts to bring on Fabio Aurelio in his place.
  • 72'
Into the final 20 minutes and it's anyone's game at the moment. Of course Liverpool may be slightly fresher, they've had the week off, whilst Spurs were in Champions League action in midweek. Will their European exploits have an effect?
  • 70'
Penalty shout for Liverpool! Kuyt goes to ground in the box after a challenge by Assou-Ekotto! Liverpool howl for a penalty but the referee ignores their claims!
  • 68'
Back to Wayne Veysey for his views on the equaliser: "Great driving run by Modric, who completely skinned Carragher, before his toe-poked cross was put into his own net by a desperate Skrtel, who has scored at both ends today. A raucous, rocking atmosphere at the Lane now".
  • 66'
    Assist Luka Modric
  • 66'
    Own Goal Martin Skrtel
  • 65'
GOAL! Spurs are level! Modric is the creator he bursts past two Liverpool defenders before sliding in a low cross which Skrtel diverts past Reina!
  • 63'
Over to our man Wayne Veysey for an update from White Hart Lane: "Spurs' penalty-taking curse continues after Defoe was offered a gift by Liverpool and left it unwrapped. After Ngog had jumped with both arms aloft to paw away a Bale free-kick, Defoe stepped up and blasted the ensuing penalty wide, the fourth missed by four different penalty-takers this season - the other three were van der Vaart, Pavlyuchenko and Bale".
  • 60'
    Yellow Card Martin Skrtel
  • 60'
    Penalty save Pepe Reina
  • 60'
    Missed Penalty Jermain Defoe
  • 60'
DEFOE MISSES FROM THE SPOT! The substitute steps up but drags his shot wide of Reina's post!! Let off for Liverpool and David Ngog must be a very relieved man indeed.
  • 59'
PENALTY TO SPURS! The referee now awards a generous free-kick after Defoe comes together with Carragher. Gareth Bale hits the free-kick goalwards. David Ngog is in the wall and jumps, arms raised, leaving the referee little option but to point to the spot. Liverpool are furious.
  • 57'
A long ball up to Crouch in the ball sees the tall striker slump to the floor under pressure from Konchesky. Crouch looks appealingly at the referee, but he's having none of it.
  • 54'
It's perhaps worth mentioning that if Liverpool were to win 2-0 they would go above Spurs in the table tonight, such is the state of the Premier League this season.
  • 52'
OFF THE LINE BY MEIRELES! Bale is denied by the midfielder after Reina misses a cross and the ball falls to the Welshman who thinks he's scored with a fine low shot only to be denied by some great defending!
  • 50'
Danger for Liverpool after a Spurs corner is knocked back into the mix by Crouch. Defoe is lurking but there are bodies everywhere and Reina reacts quickly to snatch the ball away.
  • 49'
Good work from Bale sees him past Johnson and sending in a cross. Crouch gets it down and somehow finds Defoe who manages to get a shot away but it's a poor effort.
  • 47'
ANOTHER GOOD CHANCE FOR LIVERPOOL! Spurs are living dangerously here. Yet again Torres is sent clean through. However, uncharacteristically the Spaniard takes his time before shooting which allows Bassong to get back and win the ball.
  • 46'
Welcome back! No changes for either side at the break as Spurs get this second half underway...
  • 45' + 4'
Back to Wayne Veysey at White Hart Lane for his thoughts on the first half: "After some truly appalling away performances, Liverpool have produced their best 45 minutes on the road this season. Hodgson's adventurous approach has been rewarded with Skrtel's goal and a series of clear-cut chances. Maxi missed a great opportunity to double the visitors' advantage but Spurs have looked dangerous on the counter-attack and Bale's pace and energy has been a big threat. A wonderful first half but that is par for the course at the Lane these days".
  • 45' + 3'
HALF-TIME! Fascinating stuff at White Hart Lane as Liverpool lead 1-0 courtesy of Skrtel's goal. Yet the Reds could have had more with Maxi and Torres having great chances at the end of the half. However, Spurs may not be too worried, after all they were two nil down against Arsenal last weekend and look what happened? Should be in for a great second half, join me after the break for all the action.
  • 45' + 2'
Brilliant tackle by Bassong! Another great chance for Fernando Torres who, again, is running clean through on goal but just as he is about too shoot in slides Bassong to take the ball away!
  • 45' + 1'
WHAT A CHANCE FOR MAXI! Liverpool should be 2-0 up! Again Torres and Maxi combine. The Argentine must score, he only has Gomes to beat but makes an absolute mess of it and the goalkeeper claims!
  • 45'
Heading into two minutes of stoppage time at the end of the first half...
  • 44'
Back to Goal.com's Wayne Veysey for his views on the goal: "You can't say it's not been coming. Liverpool have been banging on the door and finally prise it open. Spurs failed to clear a Meireles free-kick and Skrtel stabbed in the loose ball, only minutes after Bassong has replaced the injured Kaboul at centre-back."
  • 42'
    Assist David Ngog
  • 42'
    Goal Martin Skrtel
  • 42'
GOAL! Liverpool lead and it's Skrtel who opens the scoring! A free-kick is dinked in, Skrtel goes for it doesn't win the header cleanly but pounces on the loose ball to poke home!
  • 41'
The free-kick is a long way out but that doesn't bother Bale. He gets it over the wall and on target, the ball bounces just before Reina who watches it fly just wide.
  • 40'
    Yellow Card Jamie Carragher
  • 40'
Good break from Modric who goes past Carragher and is then hauled down by the veteran, who picks up a yellow card for his troubles.
  • 39'
Liverpool enjoy some good possession before Meireles has a pop from range. It's on target and a diving Gomes is forced to make the save but spills it and the visitors have a corner.
  • 36'
    Substitution Younes Kaboul S. Bassong
  • 36'
So Kaboul's afternoon is over, he hobbles off with what looks a hip problem. Bassong jogs on and Spurs have made substitutions with only 36 minutes on the clock.
  • 35'
More injury problems for the home side. Kaboul is down and receiving treatment and it doesn't look good for the defender.
  • 33'
Good chance for Liverpool. Kuyt fires in a wicked cross from the right and finds Ngog at the near post. The striker gets great power on the header, but no precision as the ball whizzes past the post.
  • 31'
WHAT A CHANCE FOR DEFOE! Let off for Liverpool after Reina spills a Modric shot it comes out to Defoe a matter of yards from goal who smashes the ball goalwards but a brilliant block by Carragher saves the Reds!
  • 30'
    Yellow Card Paul Konchesky
  • 30'
Bale picks himself up to take the free-kick but can only put it straight into the wall. Disappointing effort after such a thrilling run which brought the crowd to its feet.
  • 29'
Great stuff from Bale who picks up possession on the left and races forwards going past Torres and Meireles before his run is rudely interrupted by Konchesky. Booking for the full-back, free-kick for Spurs and a real chance.
  • 26'
Penalty shout for Spurs! Alan Hutton comes flying forward and into the box before going tumbling under the challenge of Meireles. White Hart Lane erupts but it looks a little theatrical and the referee waves the claims away.
  • 24'
    Yellow Card Raúl Meireles
  • 24'
Meireles catches Bale just as the Welshman looks to start a counter. He looks to have got the ball but the referee disagrees and brandishes a yellow card.
  • 22'
Midway through the first half at White Hart Lane and time to check in with Wayne Veysey: "Very open and even game here. Liverpool have cast off the shackles and are going for the win, with Torres looking especially sharp and Maxi a big threat cutting in from the left. Crouch has been dominant in the air and Spurs are counter-attacking with real pace".
  • 21'
Spurs win a free-kick in a dangerous area after Skrtel is penalised for a foul on Crouch. Modric touches it to Kaboul who smashes it high and wide.
  • 18'
Good save Gomes! More nice play between Torres and Rodriguez. The Spaniard tees up his team-mate for a shot and he lets fly with a vicious effort that the Spurs 'keeper is forced to tip around the post.
  • 17'
A Spurs corner is fired in, it flies over the head of Gallas but looks to be heading straight onto Crouch's toe, however, there's so much pace on the ball the striker can't control it and the ball flies out of play.
  • 16'
Assou-Ekotto dwells on the ball and is robbed by Torres. He then feeds Kuyt who gets forward and tries to cross but the full-back makes amends for his earlier error to win the ball back and clear.
  • 14'
First impact on the game by Defoe. Modric gets free on the left and whips in a cross which the substitute takes first time on the volley. It's a decent effort but too close to Reina who makes the save.
  • 12'
Substitution Rafael van der Vaart Jermain Defoe
  • 12'
Over to our man Wayne Veysey for news on Van der Vaart: "Big blow for Spurs. The Van der Vaart gamble has failed. He is limping off and will be replaced by Jermain Defoe, who is getting stripped off ready to come on."
  • 10'
Super knockdown by Crouch finds Van der Vaart and he tries a cheeky backheel which rolls straight to Reina. However, the Dutchman looks to have hurt himself in the process and this could be bad news for the home side...
  • 9'
Another chance for Maxi! Good persistence by Liverpool pays off as Rodriguez gets sight of goal and lets fly but his shot is off target and flies across Reina's goal and into the crowd.
  • 8'
A super flick by Fernando Torres puts Maxi clean through! He just has Gomes to beat...but the offside flag is up! Close call but a correct one and Spurs can breathe a sigh of relief.
  • 7'
Bale and Van der Vaart combine to send the Dutchman into the box but like Lennon earlier, the ball gets stuck under his feet and allows Carragher to nip in and clear.
  • 4'
Another dangerous run by Lennon, who beats Konchesky with ease before dinking in a cross for Modric. The Croatian has time but volleys the ball into the ground which just takes the pace off it and allows Reina to claim easily.
  • 3'
Super run from Lennon who zips forward, with defenders backing off him. He races into the box, has options but tries one stepover too many, loses the ball and Liverpool escape.
  • 2'
Nervy moment at the back for Spurs. Running back Gallas opts to pass back to Gomes, perhaps not quite what the goalkeeper was expecting, and he manages to get it away...just.
  • 1'
And we're off! Liverpool kick-off and we are underway at White Hart Lane...
  • More from Wayne Veysey at White Hart Lane: "Damien Comolli, Liverpool's new director of football strategy and former Spurs director of football, has taken his position in the stands and is getting a bit of attention from the cameramen in front of the two dugouts. Apparently, six of the Spurs starting X1 are Comolli buys."
  • The players are just coming out on the pitch so kick off is only minutes away. Meanwhile, more from our man Wayne Veysey: "Emboldened by Liverpool's 3-0 win at West Ham, Roy Hodgson plumps for 4-4-2 on the road for the first time in the league since his team were ripped apart by Man City in August. But given that negative formulas have failed hopelessly since then, he might feel he has nothing to lose. Glen Johnson against the man-of-the-season Gareth Bale could be interesting and Tottenham fans will be optimistic they can end a wonderful week in memorable style following the inclusion of Rafael van der Vaart in the starting line-up. After the Liverpool website reported that Joe Cole was on the subs bench, he has not been included in Liverpool's 18. Hodgson said he 'slightly injured his ankle in training'".
  • Goal.com's Wayne Veysey is at the game this afternoon and he gives us this update on a chilly afternoon in N17: "Welcome to a freezing White Hart Lane, where the football has been such fun this season that, if it is replicated today, we should be warmed up - a little. Not expecting to feel my toes again until 6pm".
  • So Rafael van der Vaart has shrugged off an ankle injury to start for Spurs, while Wilson Palacios is also in and Jermain Defoe begins on the bench. For Liverpool, Lucas returns from suspension and David Ngog starts alongside Fernando Torres suggesting a more attacking approach by Roy Hodgson.
  • Liverpool: Reina; Johnson, Carragher, Skrtel, Konchesky; Kuyt, Meireles, Lucas, Maxi; Torres, Ngog. Subs: Jones, Aurelio, Jovanovic, Kyrgiakos, Babel, Poulsen, Shelvey.
  • Tottenham: Gomes; Hutton, Kaboul, Gallas, Assou-Ekotto; Lennon, Palacios, Modric, Bale; Van der Vaart; Crouch. Subs: Cudicini, Pavlyuchenko, Defoe, Bassong, Kranjcar, Corluka, Sandro.
  • Good afternoon and welcome to Goal.com as we bring you live Premier League coverage as Tottenham welcome Liverpool to White Hart Lane. A win for Spurs will taken them fifth but a win for the Reds will see them move level on points with Harry Redknapp's men despite their poor start to the season. Either way it promises to be a fascinating contest in north London.
