J. Terry 65'
Thanks for joining me this afternoon. Until next time, goodbye!
A second half header from John Terry was enough to cancel out Gylfi Sigurdsson's first half header as both sides share the spoils at White Hart Lane. Jose Mourinho and Andre Villas-Boas share an embrace at the final whistle but I'd bet they won't see eye-to-eye on the Torres sending off.
FULL-TIME: Tottenham 1-1 Chelsea
90' + 3'
The promise of a good chance is wasted by Chadli. He recieves the ball in midfield and goes for an ambitious shot from a long way out. He leans back and sends the ball into row Z. Perhaps the last chance for Tottenham.
90' + 1'
There will be four minutes added on at the end of the match.
Defoe and Holtby exchange passes on the edge of the box before the Englishman's shot from outside the box is deflected for a corner. Petr Cech makes a commanding catch from the resulting set-piece.
CLOSE! Sigurdsson is a yard away from a spectacular second goal. After minutes of patient build-up the Icelandic midfielder elects to shoot on the half-volley just outside the box but he clips his effort just wide of of the post, with Cech rooted to the spot.
CHANCE! It's a great chance for Defoe to give Spurs a late lead. The substitute receives the ball inside the box and manages to turn but his shot is snatched at and well read by Cech. He knows he should have scored.
Chelsea have parks the proverbial bus in front of goal. It's all mans to deck as they look to see this out with ten men.
As a result of Torres' dismissal, Oscar has been sacrificed for the introduction of Azpilicueta. Tottenham have less than 10 minutes to win this against the 10 men of Chelsea.
Yellow/Red Fernando Torres
RED CARD! Torres and Vertonghen both go in for a header with full commitment and after a slight delay Mike Dean sends off the Chelsea striker! The Spaniard slowly walks off the pitch and recieves a whisper in the ear from Mourinho.
Yellow Card Mousa Dembélé
GREAT SAVE! Torres sends Schurrle away with a fine through ball but the German is denied a Chelsea goal by a superb save from Lloris. The Frenchman dashed off his line to make himself big and make the stop. Good stuff from Torres too.
Yellow Card Michael Dawson
Tottenham have stopped the Chelsea tide in the last couple of minutes and are trying to maintain possession. But Soldado and Sigurdsson, who were lively in the first period, are very quiet in this half so far.
Ramires sends Schurrle galloping into space on the left flank but the German is ajudged to be offside when the pass was made. Almost a great chance for the Blues.
This game has opened right up. Both sides have chances within seconds of each other. Tottenham's broke down because of a poor ball from Dembele and Oscar's weak cross allowed Vertonghen to snuff out Chelsea's counterattack.
CHANCE! Torres is found with a bit of space on the right-hand flank and he looks for Mata in the box but Dawson makes the intervention at the front post. Mata's cross from the resulting corner is poor. Chelsea are on top.
Assist Juan Mata
Goal John Terry
GOAL! John Terry equalises for Chelsea with his first of the season! Juan Mata delivers a cross in from the deep free kick and finds the defender at the back post. Terry heads in low into the bottom corner leaving Lloris without a hope.
CONTROVERSY! Ramires is about to burst through on goal before Vertonghen clips him down. The Spurs defender is booked but he might have seen red had he recieved a yellow in the two earlier spats with Torres.
Yellow Card Jan Vertonghen
Chelsea twice look for Oscar with two diagonal balls from deep but they fail to execute either properly. Fustrated looks from David Luiz and then Jose Mourinho on the bench.
There's a little bit of spice creeping into the derby game as Torres and Vertonghen again clash. The game is delayed as Mike Dean attempts to restore a bit of order.
Now Chelsea are looking alive in attack. Oscar squirms through Spurs' defence on the left before crossing for Torres. The reaches Mata via a deflection but he fluffs his shot on goal. Hazard then as a go himself which Lloris easily saves.
Yellow Card Branislav Ivanovic
CHELSEA GOAL DISALLOWED! Mata has the ball in the back of the net but it won't count. The Spaniard was in an offside position as he recieved the ball from Torres' flick on and slotted it in the back of the net.
Tottenham have a corner on the right which Eriksen hits too deep. Dembele picks up the pieces and then does well to hit the byline, outmuscling Ivanovic on his way, before crossing. Chelsea manage to clear.
CHANCE! Great stuff from Torres to swerve past two challenges inside the box. To his credit, Lloris does well to rush out and make the one-on-one finish hard for the Spaniard. Great keeping. Torres does look lively.
A bit of handbags between Torres and Vertonghen as the Spurs defender tumbles down following a slight nick on the heels. Torres gets booked much to his annoyance.
Yellow Card Fernando Torres
Chelsea win a free kick in a deep position on the left. Mata delivers into the box but Dawson wins the header and Lloris is able to gather.
CHANCE! Terrific play from Fernando Torres on the right to get past Naughton at Vertonghen but his low cross is perhaps hit too firmly. Oscar can only send it wide with his outstrectched leg. Chelsea's best moment of the game.
By the looks it, Eden Hazard has gone into the role behind Fernando Torres with Oscar on the left and Mata on the right. I imagine they'll be interchanging as we go on. Tentative start to the second half from both sides.
John Obi Mikel
Tottenham take the kick-off and we are underway for the second half!
Juan Mata replaces John Obi Mikel at half-time.
Jose Mourinho does have the likes of Andre Schurrle, Samuel Eto'o and, heaven forbid, Juan Mata on the bench to call on in the second half. I don't think Spurs are going to settle on the a 1-0 lead though, so the Portuguese will be wary. Tottenham go top of the league if they hold on for the three points.
What a first half for Andre Villas-Boas and his Tottenham side. They've blown away Chelsea in this first half and are more than value for their one-goal lead. Gylfi Sigurdsson's third goal in three games is the difference at the break. Jose Mourinho has plenty to do before the second half begins...
HALF-TIME: Tottenham 1-0 Chelsea
45' + 2'
Yellow Card Christian Eriksen
45' + 2'
Ramires delivers a deep cross from deep, after Chelsea's intial free kick is dealt with, but John Terry can't direct his header on goal after getting up well to meet it.
45' + 1'
There will be two minuted added on at the end of the first half.
OFF THE POST! Spurs should have doubled their lead! Townsend scares the Chelsea defenders into backing right back into their box. He advances forward before sliding a smart pass into the path of the oncoming Paulinho. The Brazilian attempts a near-post finish but only succeeds in hitting the frame of the goal!
Yellow Card Andros Townsend
CHANCE! Chelsea win a free kick as Townsend is punished for a dive. They send a diagonal into the box, Torres competes for the header with Vertonghen and manages to direct it to Oscar. The midfielder can only shoot directly at Lloris.
Townsend comes flying in from the right flank and nudges the ball to Paulinho. The Brazilian dinks a ball through to Soldado but the Spanish hit man is a yard offside.
CLOSE! Chelsea swing a corner in from the left via Frank Lampard and Hugo Lloris comes flying out of his goal to make a punch at the edge of his box. Moments later Hazard fires a shot in from the edge of the box which deflects wide for a corner.
Great stuff from Spurs on the counterattack. Once again Eriksen dazzles White Hart Lane with his footwork, Sigurdsson cutely steals the ball of his foot and takes it into the opposite direction before Paulinho centres a cross for Soldado. Chelsea get the ball clear but they know Spurs are carving them up at will.
Finally Chelsea get a hold of the ball in the Spurs half with some possession. Frank Lampard tries to thread a pass into Hazard in the box but Kyle Walker does brilliantly to anticipate and intercept.
Ivanovic gets forward from right back and tries to cross from the byline but Vertonghen does well to get ahead of Torres and make a clearing header. Solado tries to hold the ball up for Spurs and wins a free kick from a clumsy challenge from David Luiz.
Kyle Naughton eventually has a right-footed shot from range at the end of that Spurs attack but it's hit rather tamely and Cech easily gathers.
Demebele appears to be moving freely enough now as Spurs knock the ball about under little pressure from Chelsea. Walker tries to cross from the right but Cole does well to close him down. Spurs look dangerous.
That opener was Gylfi Sigurdsson's third goal in three Premier League appearances. The Icelandic midfielder is in top form and looks to have forged a good understanding with Eriksen.
Eden Hazard goes in hard, but fair, on Moussa Dembele. Chelsea continue on the attack but Spurs knock the ball out when they lose their forward momentum. Time for a breather after a couple of breathless minutes.
CHANCE! Spurs nearly double their lead through Paulinho. Roberto Soldado flashes a low ball across the box that looks certain to reach Paulinho in the box but Ivanovic comes in to make a vital intervention.
Let me remind you that Tottenham have only conceded one goal in their last nine competitive fixtures. Could this be another defeat for Mourinho's men?
Assist Roberto Soldado
Goal Gylfi Sigurdsson
GOAL! Gylfi Sigurdsson gives Spurs the lead. It's a well worked goal from the hosts, Eriksen beats a couple of players on the left before finding Soldado in the box. The Spanish striker sees Sigurdsson's run and cleverly lays the ball into his path with a first time touch. A fine finish too!
Torres feels hard done by as he goes down on the edge of the box but nothing is given. Chelsea haven't really got going yet.
Luiz does well to read the danger as Soldado wins the ball on the right and finds Eriksen. Tottenham are definitely the team on the ascendancy.
Eriksen is seeing plenty of the ball in these early stages, he finds Sigurdsson, who is then brought down. The Dane takes the set-piece but his ball into the box is headed harmlessly wide by Vertonghen.
Eden Hazard goes stays down following a challenge with Kyle Walker. The Belgian reveals a hole in his sock as he protests with the referee but he looks fine to continue.
Lampard again looks for a long ball for one of his midfield runners. This time Eden Hazard beats the offside trap but the ball just runs a little long for him and he is unable to bring it under his spell.
Eriksen tries to feed Soldado with a clever ball through the middle of the Chelsea defence but Terry is alert to the danger and does well to snuff out the chance. Real signs of intent from Eriksen and Spurs early on.
Now Tottenham make a forray into the final third for the first time. Christian Eriksen has a chance to deliver from a corner but the Dane's cross is easily claimed by a confident Cech.
Chelsea launch the first attack of the game as Frank Lampard looks for Ramires' forward run with a lofted pass. The Brazilian is a little too eager and strays offside with his movement.
Chelsea take the kick-off and we are underway at White Hart Lane!
