Saved well from Gomez but was troubled in the first half. Handling and kicking were also good. Great save from Watson penalty.
Was a rock at the back and showed composure beyond his years. However faded as the game wore on.
Kept Di Santo in check all game and led his team well. Ensured the level of performance didn’t drop after bright start. Was dominant in the air. Clumsy challenge to give away penalty.
Raided down the left well and was solid at left-back in his first game in the Premier League for the Swans.
Defended well against Moses and tried to get forward and help attack Figueroa down the right.
Put in good set-pieces which troubled the Latics, showed a good range of passing in the match.
Was at the focal point of everything Swansea did going forward. Started all the moves from deep in the midfield and also protected the back four from the advancing Wigan midfielders.
Played well. He was always on the move and asking questions of the Latics defenders. Put decent balls into the area from the left and the right as he drifted on the flanks.
Always offered himself as an outlet down the right and his movement caused problems for the Latics defence. He also provided a few dangerous balls into the box which Graham could have done more with.
Used his pace and trickery down the left to great effect as he gave Boyce a hard time. Could have done better with chance outside the area which trickled wide of the post.
Had a number of chances in the first half but spurned them. His movement caused the Wigan centre-backs problems.
Ali Al Habsi
Made a good save to deny Graham in the opening minutes. Handling and kicking were good and commanded his area very well.
Had an inconsistent game as occasionally he let his man free in the area particularly in the first half but improved as the game wore on. Was good in the air and won more than his fair share of headers.
Slotted in at centre back after Alcaraz went off in the first half. Performed OK against a strong Swansea attack but was occasionally beaten by the skill of Routledge. Defended well in the air where Wigan were dominant.
Defended well against Dyer down the right, he stopped many crosses from getting into the box and tried to raid forward in the second half when team upped the ante.
Great clearance to deny Graham a certain goal as he cut off Routledge’s cross before it reached the striker. Left the field after 35 minutes with an injury. Performed OK but was troubled at times by Graham.
Had a quiet game as his side was defending for most of the match. Tried to get more involved in the second half as Wigan grew into the game.
Was anonymous for the majority of the game and allowed his man to get the better of him in the midfield battle. Missed a penalty as it was poorly struck.
Didn’t see much of the ball as he and his fellow midfielders chased shadows for most of the game as they were out-fought by the Swansea midfielders.
Tried to make things happen for Wigan but was restricted by good defending from the Swans and a lack of possession by his team. Showed glimpses of his ability in the second half but these moments were few and far between. Unlucky to see shot hit the bar in the second half.
Was Wigan’s best player by far. He along with Moses were the only attacking threat for the visitors. Unlucky not to score as his shot hit the post and won his side a penalty.
F. Di Santo
Isolated as the lone striker. Tried to offer himself as a target for his team-mates.
- 21 Moreira
- 5 A. Tate
Didn't have time to make an impact on the game. But ensured hosts earned first point of the season.
- 27 M. Gower
Decent effort from distance forced a good save for Al-Habsi. Tried to spur team on to get winner.
On late for Graham so didn't have time to make an impact.
