S. Hines 81' (own goal)
90' + 6'
It's all over at the Liberty Stadium and Swansea advance to the semi-finals of the Capital One Cup for the first time in their history as Seb Hines' own goal gets them the win. Middlesbrough had their chances in the first half but couldn't get on the scoresheet and they were made to pay by the Swans who weren't at their best but did enough to reach the last four.
90' + 5'
CHANCE!!!!! McDonald in inches away from getting Boro an equaliser but he just can't get his foot to Miller's deflected cross with the goal gaping. So close for Tony Mowbray's side but that's been the story of their night.
90' + 4'
Another wasted Swansea chance as this time Ki misses the target from close range instead of killing the clock. Middlesbrough have time for one more attack, can they get an equaliser?
90' + 3'
Lots of space is opening up for Swansea as Michu releases Moore down the middle but instead of running the ball into the corner he blasts an effort at goal which goes well wide.
90' + 1'
Great team defending from Swansea as McDonald picks up the ball on the edge of the area but he's forced back all the way to the half-way line as he's pressured from all angles.
Five minutes of added time!! Can Middlesbrough force an equaliser?
Desperate times for Boro as they are launching the ball forward but on this occasion Jutkiewicz fouls Monk and Lee Probert awards Swansea a free kick.
CHANCE!!!! Middlesbrough should be level!!! From the corner Hines gets in at the back post and heads over the bar from one yard out. An incredible miss, he's off balance when he makes contact but he's got to hit the target from that distance.
CHANCE!!!! Maybe Middlesbrough aren't out of this yet as Friend lets fly with an effort from outside the area which deflects off Tiendalli and creeps towards the top corner but Tremmel gets a hand on the ball and turns it wide.
Swansea are taking the pace out of the game as Moore runs the ball into the corner and forces a throw in. It's harsh of Middlesbrough and Hines especially as he's been excellent tonight.
Middlesbrough don't deserve to be behind in this game but they didn't take their chances and that's what happens when you play a team in the Premier League.
Own Goal Seb Hines
GOALLLL!!!!!! Swansea take the lead and it's an own goal from Seb Hines that's finally broke the deadlock. The defender got above Michu but headed De Guzman's cross into his own net leaving Jason Steele with no chance. The Swans' pressure has finally got a reward.
The game is really open now as Michu finds space behind the Middlesbrough defence but as he pulls the trigger Hines is there to make a great sliding block.
PENALTY SHOUT!!!!! Ki goes down under the challenge of Hines aftter De Guzman lofted a lovely pass to the midfielder but Lee Probert waves play on. It looks as though Ki was fouled there as Hines didn't get any of the ball. Lucky escape for Boro.
Swansea are getting on top in this game as we edge closer to the final whistle. Middlesbrough look a bit heavy legged in midfield at the moment and it doesn't help that both central midfielders have been booked.
OFF THE BAR!!!!! OH so close to goal from De Guzman as he hits the bar from a free kick from just outside the area. Steele leaped across to his right and got his fingertips on the ball. A great save from the Boro keeper.
Yellow Card Nicky Bailey
The crossing in this game has been dire, another Swansea corner doesn't beat the first man as Friend heads the ball away with ease.
CHANCE!!! Swansea have a couple of chances to take the lead but can't find a way through the Boro defence as Luke Moore sees two efforts blocked by Justin Hoyte in the penalty area. He should have done better with that opportunity.
Tired legs look to be taking effect now as Leadbitter who's been excellent so far shanks a through ball looking for the run of Jutkiewicz and the ball goes out for a goal kick.
Half-chance for Swansea as De Guzman lines up and effort on the edge of the area but his shot is tame and Jason Steele makes a comfortable stop.
Andrew Halliday is at left-back as George Friend has switched to centre-back. The youngster nearly makes an impact straight away as he robs Tiendalli of the ball but his cross is straight at Tremmel.
I take it back it looks as though Bikey is actually hurt. He's off and is replaced by Andrew Halliday which may involve a defensive reshuffle as he's more of a left-back.
Swansea are starting to up the ante now as Ben Davies gets down the left twice into good crossing positions. Hines is there to block this one and it's out for a corner.
Andre Bikey looks hurt again as he's tweaked his hamstring at this stage who knows if it's real or not. I suspect he's forgotten to practice for his acting class tomorrow and is cramming like mad.
Middlesbrough have had a few corners now in the second half and all of them have been poor. This time Leadbitter fires a daisy cutter into the near post which is easily cleared by the Swansea defence.
Andre Bikey's improved his acting from the first half as he hauls down Luke Moore on the edge of the area but referee Probert waves play on. Bikey lays on the deck and stops the game like he was the victim. Tiny bit of gamesmanship there possibly.
Emmanuel Ledesma has shown an excellent range of passing and he comes close to finding Jutkiewicz with a beauty of a cross which arcs in the direction of the Pole leaving Tremmel in no-man's land but the striker just can't make contact.
Frustration starting to creep in for Swansea as Routledge fouls Hoyte deep in the Middlesbrough half, where the former Arsenal man was under a lot of pressure.
Nicky Bailey has had an excellent game breaking up the play in a defensive midfield role. Twice in two minutes he does well first to disposses Schechter outside the area, then he makes an excellent challenge out Routledge to stop him in his tracks when breaking forward.
Lukas Jutkiewicz does well as holds off several Swansea defenders before releasing the ball to Grant Leadbitter who fires a dipping shot at goal and Tremmel does well to hold the ball to make the stop.
Chance for Middlesbrough on the counter as the ball finds Hoyte who's made a great run down the right but he hasn't got support and fires an effort into the side netting.
Now it's Swansea's turn to win a corner a Tiendalli raids down the right and gets to the byline before he's tackled by Friend. From the corner Bikey gets up the highest and heads clear.
Gerhard Tremmel easily claims to cross from the left and gets the ball out quickly to Tiendalli to start a Swansea atttack.
Strong start to the half from Middlesbrough, Leadbitter feeds Friend down the left who forces the ball to McDonald who twists and turns and wins a corner.
We're back underway at the Liberty Stadium.
The players are back out for the start of the second half, we should be getting back underway shortly.
Our man Jamie Dunn is watching the game, and he summarises: " On the evidence of the first half at the Liberty Stadium, you'd be hard pressed to pick out the Premier League side if you didn't know any better. Middlesbrough, playing a similar passing style of football, have more than matched Swansea, and Grant Leadbitter will perhaps be kicking himself for not having forced Gerhard Tremmel into a really decent save. Michael Laudrup has got the interval to talk strategy with the hosts now and might even consider a change."
Half-time at the Liberty Stadium and it's goalless. Middlesbrough have been the better team and have had the best chances but they haven't managed to find a way through Gerhard Tremmel with Grant Leadbitter guilty of missing a few opportunities. Swansea haven't got going at all and haven't mustered any real chance so Michael Laudrup will be wanting to see much more from his side after the break.
Yellow Card Grant Leadbitter
Grant Leadbitter goes into the book and he's not happy about it, as he goes into a 50/50 with Ben Davies. It looks as though the Swansea man's leg was slightly higher than the Boro skipper's so he may have an argument there.
Nathan Dyer tries a pot shot at goal from range which tests the handling abilities of Jason Steele but the keeper claims it comfortably. Swansea just haven't been a threat in the first half.
For all their good play Middlesbrough haven't scored, which will frustrate Tony Mowbray. Will they come to rue their missed opportunities later in the game?
Silly play from Dwight Tiendalli as he thinks he's been fouled by Scott McDonald and stops running but not in the eyes of referee Lee Probert. The striker steals the ball away from him and starts another Boro attack which eventually peters out. Lucky escape for the right-back.
Faris Haroun scored twice on Saturday against Peterborough and is looking dangerous tonight as he's getting in good places to supply and threaten himself.
CHANCE!!!! Middlesbrough should be in the lead! Haroun wins the ball deep in the Swansea half, he lifts a lovely ball to Leadbitter who's unmarked in the box but he fires his left-footed shot straight at Tremmel who beats the ball away. Big opportunity for Boro.
CHANCE!!! First opportunity for Swansea and Steele does well to react as a header from Itay Shechter hits Nathan Dyer yards from goal but the keeper is down quickly to his right to make a good stop.
From the resulting cross Seb Hines is there again to clear the danger. He's been excellent so far.
Wayne Routledge and Nathan Dyer combine for the first time down the right and try to force a ball into the middle but Nicky Bailey sticks to his task and forces a corner.
Middlesbrough look dangerous on the break, this time Leadbitter and Jutkiewicz get upfield but some good defending from Chico and Tiendalli stifles them just as the ball looked as though it had broken for the former Ipswich midfielder.
Seb Hines and Andre Bikey have played extremely well so far, Michu pushed up on this occasion but Hines threw him off the ball with ease. Very promising for Boro if the centre-backs can deal with the Spaniard that easily.
Jonathan De Guzman performs his defensive duties well as he gets back to head a dangerous cross from Ledesma clear. It's been that way for the Swans so far as their creative players are playing very deep.
Michu has been a bystander so far in the game, Swansea need to get him involved sooner rather than later as the Championship side have looked very dangerous so far.
CHANCE!!! George Friend does brilliantly down the left as he raids forward from full back, he beats a challenge from Tiendalli and drops the ball to Leadbitter on the edge of the box who shoots at goal but Tremmel does well to get down to his right to make a save.
Oh dear what a bad dive by Andre Bikey, as he falls over under a challenge from Michu after losing the ball. Fair to say referee Lee Probert didn't award a free kick.
Very ambitious effort from Nicky Bailey as he let's fly from 30 yards out but his effort sails well over the bar of Tremmel. His team-mates don't look impressed.
Middlesbrough win a free kick which Hines launches into the Swansea box but Jutkiewicz can only head straight to Britton. The Pole did the job of the defence with that header.
Leon Britton was a doubt for this game but he seems to be holding up ok as he's seeing a lot of the ball, in his role sitting just in front of Monk and Chico. When he gets involved good things tend to happen for the Swans.
Swansea are trying to make life uncomfortable for Middlesbrough by pressing them deep in their half, but this is leaving a lot of space in the midfield and forward areas for Boro if they can get the ball out from the back.
Chance on the counter for Boro as Leadbitter hits a long ball forward to Jutkiewicz but he can't find a team-mate in the area and Monk clears the ball to safety. Only Haroun was in the box for Tony Mowbray's side there.
Nathan Dyer is unlucky as he beats McDonald down the left with a swift turn of pace but the ball just goes out as he looked to raid further into the Boro half.
Swansea are getting physical with the Middlesbrough strikers after they'd successfully held the ball up in the first couple of forays as Tiendalli barges McDonald out the way in the centre circle.
Better from the hosts as they start to pass the ball with fluency and space opens up for Michu to have a shot but it's blocked by Seb Hines, and the defender clears the ball following another effort from Nathan Dyer.
Commentator's curse on Ledesma as he miscontrols the ball and stops a promising attack deep in the Swansea half. Bright start from the Championship side.
Swansea have can't get a foot on the ball at the moment as the Championship side are knocking it around nicely with Emmanuel Ledesma pulling the strings.
Middlesbrough cut open Swansea straight away but Grant Leadbitter can't quite get his shot out from under his feet after he's teed up by Scott McDonald inside the penalty area. Boro should be ahead.
Middlesbrough get us underway at the Liberty Stadium.
STAT ATTACK: Swansea striker Michu has scored six goals in his last three games. The Spaniard is in red hot form.
