The second leg should be a formality, but the Swans do not want to rest on their laurels and it will give them a chance to show Laudrup exactly what they have got for this season. Exciting times ahead if you are a Swansea fan!
The Swans were dominant throughout the match and thoroughly deserved their win. Debut goals from Pozuelo and Bony have put Michael Laudrup's men in the driving seat in the first leg. Malmo were chasing shadows for most of the game, but a great display from Ashley Williams are the back made sure they kept a clean sheet.
Full-time: Swansea 4-0 Malmo.
90' + 2'
Bony spins and shoots through a wall of players, but he is a yard away from notching a debut hat-trick.
Swansea are just seeing out the remaining few minutes of this match now, but do not be surprised if they score a fifth.
GOAL!!! Another debut goal, and what a finish that was. Substitute Jonathan De Guzman plays the ball to Bony who flicked it up to Pozuelo. He controlled the ball with his chest and volleyed past the goalkeeper with pace and accuracy. It was a brilliant goal that capped off a brilliant move.
Swansea are living a little bit dangerously at the back, but Malmo are not capitalising.
Shelvey goes for it from the halfway line and has Dahlin backtracking, but the goalkeeper gratefully clutches the ball from underneath his bar.
In the space of 30 seconds, substitute Alejandro Pozuelo powers one just past the post, before Shelvey drives straight at Dahlin in goal.
Now then. The Swedes almost scored an all-important away goal, but Hamad's first time drive just about clears Michel Vorm and the bar.
Ashley Williams has been brilliant when called upon tonight. Another well-timed tackle prevents Malmo from getting in behind the defence.
The play has been broken up by a number of substitutions, but the Swans are still on the ascendancy.
Jonathan De Guzmán
Yellow CardErik Friberg
Swansea are all over the Swedes at the minute. Malmo have not been able to cope with their passing style.
Shelvey volleys just past Dahlin's post as Malmo start to crumble at the back.
GOAL!!! Michu runs in behind the defence and tries to place the ball past Dahlin. Unfortunately for him, the ball comes back off the post, but fortunately for Swansea it falls to Bony, who taps home from close range.
Routledge turns provider again, but Michu can not keep his header down and the ball goes over the bar.
Yellow CardM. Eriksson
GOAL!!! Wilfried Bony leaps highest of everybody in the box to meet Routledge's cross and nods home on his competitive debut.
Magnus Eriksson goes down under a challenge from Angel Rangel in the box, but the referee waves away his protests.
Swansea are showing their industrious side with a few cynical challenges.
Yellow CardJordi Amat
Malmo have an early free kick, but Hamad just sends it just over the top of the bar. Good effort to get it up, over and back down again from that close in.
Swansea get us underway.
It will be interesting to see if Laudrup continues with the formation in the second half, which, at times, has looked like 4-2-4. It worked for him in the first half, but keeping a clean sheet this evening should now be a priority.
The Swans go in at the break the better side and fully deserve their lead. The goal itself was somewhat fortunate as a Filip Helander slip allowed Michu to nip in behind the defence to slot home.
Half-time: Swansea 1-0 Malmo
Michu overhits his through ball to Routledge but it brings a round of applause from the fans after the build-up play before it was textbook Swansea.
Malmo force a corner after Ashley Williams gave the ball away, but the set piece came to nothing.
Chance for Swansea. Space is opening up all over now for Michael Laudrup's side. Routledge tries to curl one in, which Pontus Jansson had to block with his face. Brave defending.
GOAL!!! Swansea are in front, and it is the least they deserve. Routledge dinked a ball over the top of Helander, the defender slipped and allowed Michu to cooly slot past Dahlin.
Malmo have their first shot of the game. Jiloan Hamad tries to curl one in the top corner, but his shot did not have the accuracy he was anticipating.
Chance for Swansea. They are coming thick and fast now. A brilliant raking pass finds Dyer in space in the box. After controlling the ball, he tried to smash the ball past Johan Dahlin, but he produced a smart stop to keep the scores level.
Chance for Swansea. Shelvey unleashes a shot from outside the area. It is hit with venom and it stays low, but he dragged it wide.
First misplaced pass of the night? Nathan Dyer tries to find Routledge but overhits the ball after another slow, patient build-up play.
Ben Davies overlaps Wayne Routledge and tries to get a cross in but it is cut out and floors the defender. A brilliant block in a delicate area, so to speak.
Swansea finally cause the Swedes to make a mistake and force a corner, but the resulting set-piece is booted to safety.
Not much is happening bar Swansea keeping hold of the ball and superbly passing the ball around. It is lovely to watch, and Malmo's defence will have to be switched on for the full 90 if they want to keep a clean sheet.
Malmo's disciplined back four, and their counter attacking style of play will be interesting to watch this evening. Currently their defence are doing a good job, but the final ball to their strikers have failed to give them a decent opening.
Very patient build-up play by the Swans. They are passing around and through the Malmo midfield, but they will have to sit tight if they want to breakdown a determined Swedish defence.
Shelvey, making his competitive debut, is also making friends with the fans with his early contributions. This time he finds Angel Rangel in space on the flank, but the full-back's cross is intercepted.
Chance for Swansea. Jordi Amat's heads Jonjo Shelvey's corner goalbound, but defender Filip Helander nods off the line.
Great positive start from Swansea. Pass and move is the name of the game, and the Swedes cannot get a look in at the minute.
