Only in their second season in the Premier League, Swansea owe much to the 30-year-old midfielder, who keeps the side ticking with small, effective passes when the Swans are in possession. The Englishman was integral to the Welsh side under Brendan Rodgers and looks to be continuing in a similar mould under Laudrup.
In the absence of Ron Vlaar, the defender has been asked to lead Paul Lambert's back five at the age of just 23. He has often been the most experienced player in a very young unit but Villa may have to do without the Dutchman again for this match as he continues to recover from injury. A strong performance from Clark will be key for a team that has shipped a staggering 15 goals in three matches.
Unless Aston Villa can produce a radical improvement in their performance levels, a home win is on the cards and it will simply be a case of how many the Welsh side can put past the leakiest of defences.
