Great first half performance from Shamrock Rovers but Liverpool stepped their performance up a notch in the second half. All substitutes were looking to impress and Rodgers' side ran out deserved 4-0 winners in the end.
Eamon Zayed gets a chance to shoot at goal and fires it directly at the keeper. Poor effort and with that, the final whistle sounds.
Corner for Rovers in the final minute. Could be a chance for them to grab a consolation.
The match winding down now with the pace dropping and two minutes stoppage time being announced over the intercom.

Substitute Jack Dunn doesn't take long to make an impact for Liverpool. He finds himself with some space in the area and fires a low shot under Hyland to secure Liverpool's fourth of the evening.
Ibe dribbles his way into the box and fires a shot at goal. Hyland didn't know much about it, saving it with his head.
Borini makes way after a fine display in his return to Liverpool. He recieives a massive round of applause from the fans.
The Hoops' performance dipping vastly since the third goal. Liverpool stroking the ball around like a training ground exercise, with no problems being caused by the Rovers' attack.

Martin Kelly scores Liverpool's third with a volley from just inside the six yard box, leaving Hyland helpless.
Aspas strikes a looping shot goalbound and sub keeper Craig Hyland does excellently to touch it over the bar.
Jones punches clear and Robinson shoots from distance, earning another corner with a block in the process.
McPhail wins a Rovers corner. Their first of the half.
Luke Byrne having a standout performance for Rovers, defending admirably on the left wing and making some important tackles.
Borini down in the box after a heavy aerial clash with McGuinness.
Borini seeing a lot of the ball this half, looking to add to his tally. Causing the Rovers defence some problems at the moment.
Rovers struggling to obtain possession as Liverpool step it up a gear in the second half.
Rovers have barely touched the ball so far this half, trying to survive a Liverpool onslaught at the moment.
Ibe dribbled through the Rovers defence, rounded Murphy and sent the ball high over the crossbar. Less than a minute later fired a ricocheted ball over the bar again!
Ibe has missed a couple of great chances inside a minute.
Poor start to the second half from Rovers who will be disappointed in conceding so early. Borini looked destined to score. Looked the liveliest player on the pitch from the start.

Borini scores on his Liverpool return with a fine side-footed finish which sails beyond Murphy and clips the post and falls into the net. Great finish.

We are underway in the second half. A number of subtitutions for both sides, with Ryan Brennan being a notable player taken off.
Croly will be happy with his players' first half display. A goal would give the Tallaght side a real boost. Brennan in particular, stood out with a great box-to-box performance in the first 45.
Confident performance from Liverpool but Rovers have defended well and looked surprisingly dangerous in front of goal when they have created their opportunities.
Rovers string a number of passes together and looking to create a final opportunity before the half time whistle but Liverpool defend the attack well.
Aspas delivers a teasing whipped ball to the back post which narrowly flies over Borini's head.
Rovers' confidence is building and the Tallaght fans have something to cheer about. They are creating chances and holding strong at the back.
Chance for Rovers! Ryan Brennan hits the post with a superb leaping header from the 18 yard line. The ball bounces off the left post and teasingly hops across the goal beyond the next post. Unlucky for Rovers.
A sumptuous cross-field ball from Joe Allen sets up Aspas who strikes and draws a fine save from Murphy.
Ibe gets in behind Madden but the defender makes the most of a nudge by the winger and buys a free kick. Clever play by Madden.
Joe Allen sets up Borini with a through ball but the striker sliced the ball wide on his attempt to swivel and strike first time.
Excellent whipped ball in from Ryan Brennan which Brad Jones did well to sweep away from the head of Ciaran Kilduff. More like it from Rovers.
The Hoops struggling to contain the ball, but defending well against the constant Liverpool attack.

Weak penalty claims from the Hoops fans with Ryan Brennan bundled over in the box. May be some substance to them after looking at the replay.
Trevor Croly's side looking outclassed by the confident Liverpool youngsters, but still looking like creating something when they get into the final third.
The Hoops defence is being pressed very high up the pitch but Cornwall did well to hold onto the ball and play it across the back.
Aspas curls one from long range on his left foot and Murphy saves with ease.
Borini strikes the ball poorly, sending it miles over the top and causing no trouble for Murphy.
Quick one-two passing form Borini and McLaughlin presents a free kick to Liverpool with the Rovers defence diving in.
Ibe strikes another from 20 yards which deflects wide of the post. Barry Murphy will be busy all night it seems.
All Liverpool at the moment with Ibe drawing a competent save from Murphy, which the keeper punches clear.
Conor Coady picks up the ball on the edge of the area and his shot looked goalbound, only for Byrne putting his body on the line to block the shot and send the ball narrowly wide.
Lucas strikes hopefully from distance and earns a corner in the process.

Kilduff spoke of his delight to play against his boyhood club this week and he will be especially looking to get on the scoresheet today. Unlucky from the striker.
