O. Kucher 56' (own goal)
FULL TIME: SHAKHTAR DONETSK 0-1 JUVENTUS The Bianconeri end up topping Group E thanks to an own goal by Kucher early in the second half. Shakhtar second. Giovinco did enough to put off the defender who put past his own goalkeeper after a superb ball in by Lichtsteiner, In the end, that was enough to seperate the two sides. And Juve end their run of five straight away draws. Thanks for joining folks, I hope you enjoyed the coverage and if you want to get in contact @CTTurnbull then by all means! Enjoy the rest of your night and congratulations to both teams who qualified for the last 16!

Juve have the ball and are just content to keep it. Pirlo controlling the tempo, spraying the passes about with consummate ease. Matri then attempts an audacious chip from about 30 yards but it's awful.
Vucinic's goal drought continues and is replaced by Matri. The Montenegrin has worked tirelessly but hasn't really been able to fashion some chances for himself in this game. Juve holding on, into the final few minutes.
Yellow Card Giorgio Chiellini
OFFSIDE POGBA! Well inexperience there from the Frenchman, he's in acres of space the ball is played through by Giovinco, and if the 19-year-old holds his run, he's through on goal but instead he moves too early.
More pressure from Shakhtar, this game isn't over yet guys. Willian again the creator plays the ball wide and another dangerous cross which just about finds its way through to Buffon.
Inside the final 10 minutes here and it's Juventus on the attack. Lichtsteiner has had a superb match and gets down the right wing again fires in the low cross but there is no one to take advantage.
Well in the other match in this group Chelsea are winning 6-1 against Nordsjaelland. But it doesn't matter as Juventus are winning 1-0 and just about worthy of their lead!
Juventus could have had an opportunity to wrap things up as Pirlo found Vucinic. The Montenegrin striker fed Pogba but his pass into the path of Vidal was poor and Willian cleared the danger.
Well Juventus are having to soak up some heavy pressure here. Mkhitaryan links up well with Devic and the latter gets away from his man to fire a shot on goal. It's not the best contact and Juve clear. Seconds late, Devic is at it again and he forces a corner!
Yellow Card Henrikh Mkhitaryan
PENALTY!!! NO WAIT NOT GIVEN!. Mkhitaryan is booked for simulation in the box. Well that looked debatable. The Armenia striker gets on the wrong side of the Juve defence and goes down under the pressure. Referee Erikkson feels he's made too much of it and books the forward for diving.
OOOOH GREAT COUNTER FROM JUVENTUS. Vucinic springs the offside trap and rounds Pyatov but he does enough to narrow the angle. The striker finds Giovinco but Shakhtar literally have five men on the line the ball is played back to Pogba who tries to side foot it into the corner but it is blocked. Well a sign of things to come there. As Shakhtar push forward there's going to be more spaces for Juve to exploit on the counter.
OOOOH chance for the hosts. Willian shows brilliant feet to play the ball out wide, it's whipped in with real pace and ones of those balls where it can go in off someone. This time the post and Buffon come to the Bianconeri rescue under pressure from Ilsinho.
Well nothing came of the Ukrainian's set-piece but there is more impetus from the hosts. Willian, who has been extremely quiet in this game so far, is looking to get on the ball more often and with Mkhitaryan in your side, you're always worthy of a goal.
Shakhtar looking for a way back into this match and they've forced a corner. Chiellini sees the ball behind after a dangerous ball in from the left.
An hour gone here in the Donbass Arena and it's Juve who have the lead courtesy of a Kucher own goal. Lichtsteiner brilliant ball across made it extremely difficult to clear and with the effort of Giovinco in behind Kucher he done enough to make the defender put the ball into the back of the net.
Well the Atomic Ant has certainly made up for it his miss in the first half. Not sure he knew much about it. But as it stands Juve top the group.
Own Goal Olexandr Kucher
GOOOOAAALLLLL!!! JUVENTUS! Well what a ball across from Lichtsteiner from the right hand side he fizzed a ball across low and hard, the Shakhtar defence couldn't clear it, and between Kucher and Giovinco the ball is bundled into the back of the net from five yards!
@MarkJBon has got in touch with Goal "Giovinco and Vucinic make a tricky duo for defenses but Juve need a powerful box striker like Cavani. " Well you certainly have to wonder whether Cavani would have scored in the first half.
CHANCE!! Well that was a great counter by Shakhtar as Mikhitaryan got in behind the Juve defence, sped towards goal and from a tight angle tries to beat Buffon and his shot just drifts narrowly wide of the target. What a second half so far!!
OOOHHHH WHAT A CHANCE! This game has certainly livened up the ball kindly fell to Pirlo and instead of trying to smash towards goal he takes a touch taking two Shakhtar defenders out of the play, and from the edge of the box his shot clips the post before going out!
OOOOOOHHH what a chance for Shakhtar there! A free-kick from 30 yards was whipped in by Srna and Buffon punched it back out into a traffic of players. It fell to Alex Texiera and he lashed the effort inches wide of Buffon's post it was so close to being a goal.
Great start by Shakhtar in the second half and it is the substitute Devic who has had an immediate impact. He could have lifted his head quicker though and found Willian unmarked at the back post.
For all you stats lovers out there. Juventus have seven attempts on goal while Shakhtar have had two, you certainly can't accuse the visitors of not trying to score here.
@Chachathegunner got in touch at half-time. This partnership---> Vucinco is mettle enough to knock Chelsea out of the #UCL Well they certainly have caused Shakhtar a few problems in the first half but have yet to find that elusive goal.
Should Juve have had a penalty in the first half? What have made of Giovinco and Vucinic partnership up front? Contact me at @CTTurnbull and I will post the best comments here.
45' + 1'
GREAT STRIKE! Giovinco has a speculative effort from about 30 yards, with no defenders coming towards him the attacker drives towards goal and sends it swerving all over the place which makes it difficult for Pyatov to hold. It brings the end of the first half to a close. The Atomic Ant has had the best chance of the match. But not much in the way of goalscoring chances. Join us again in 15 minutes for live second half coverage.
OHHH great ball in there by Lichtsteiner! He has struggled to get down the right-hand side with any real purpose but on that rare occasion that he has it's been worth the wait. Just there he sent in a wicked delivery which is frantically cleared by the hosts defence just happy to clear the ball anywhere under the pressure of Vucinic.
Vucinic is proving a real handful upfront and he almost takes advantage of some slack defending by Ratkitskiy. The attacker charges down the defender's block the ball goes free as the two try to chase the loose ball down but the Montenegrin bundles into the back of the centre-back and the referee gives the free-kick to Skahktar.
Yellow Card Olexandr Kucher
And Kucher is booked for the hosts and you can see the reaction on his face means he's disappointed as he will miss the next match for Shakhtar. It was a clumsy challenge if anything, no real malice but just a tackle that he did not need to make. Juve have a free-kick with Pirlo over it but it comes to nothing.
Perhaps the most frustrating aspect of the first half from a Juventus point of view is that they've failed to make Pyatov make any real save of note. Giovinco has came closest for the visitors. Buffon has had a comfortable night as well.
Stoppage in play there as Mkhitaryan received treatment. Juventus now come forward with Asamoah, who has been fairly quiet in the match so far. Remember a draw in this match means both Juve and Shakhtar go through but Shakhtar would top the group.
Vidal is Juventus' joint-top goalscorer this season and he attempts to add to his tally with a speculative volley from about 30 yards... safe to say it's still rising. Horrible effort and he has his head in his hands, it's no wonder really.
Yellow Card Eduardo
OOOOOOHH SOOO CLOSE!! What a brilliant opportunity that was for the Juventus! It was superb play by Vucinic showing his upper body strength to hold off three Shakhtar defenders, he then plays a slide-rule pass to Giovinco, who is all on his own, bearing down on goal and from the edge of the box, he drags his shot wide! It was inches past but really he should have put the visitors ahead.
Well what an opportunity that could have been for the visitors. Chiellini launches a long searching ball in behind the Shakhtar defence. Vidal springs the offside trap with an excellent run. and with so much space and time, right through on goal, his touch deserted him at the wrong moment.
Shakhtar, who are patient in their build-up, looking for the opportunity to get in behind the Italians at every opportunity, Fernandinho and Willian play quick passes in around Juve's final third but they can't yet break down a sturdy Bianconeri defence.
Eduardo is judged to be in an offside postion as he looked to get in behind the Juve defence with the long ball, but the linesman has his flag up
Yellow Card Taras Stepanenko
It's such a joy to watch Vucinic sometimes, instant control from a pass 60 yards away which came over his head brought down and tried to bring Asamoah into play on the left. Juve then win a free-kick and it's another inviting ball in from Pirlo, Chiellini is inches away from making a solid contact and there's even claims for handball but the ref Eriksson doesn't want to know about it.
Shakhtar managed to get into a promising position there. Willian and Eduardo linked up well, the Brazilian drove to the byline before nicking the ball back to Fernandinho he's challenged well by Chiellini and the midfielder cannot get a good connection on the header.
We've played about 15 minutes here and it hasn't been the most exciting of starts. Neither Buffon or Pyatov have been really tested so far. Juve seem content with the long ball currently looking for Vucinic to hold the ball up and bring others into play.
Juventus put the hosts under a little bit of pressure there. The Italians win a free-kick in a dangerous area and Pirlo whips the ball in but cannot find the big men in the box Barzagli or Bonucci. Meanwhile, Shakhtar go up the other end but the chance is snuffed out by some solid defending by Chiellini.
Giovinco and Vucinic have started well together. The Atomic Ant fires a long ball to the back post looking for the Montenegrin striker and he attempts an audacious drive with the left foot but he gets it all wrong.
Yellow Card Arturo Vidal
Well referee Jonas Eriksson is standing for no nonsense early on and books Arturo Vidal for a pull of Willian's shirt just as the move started to look promising for the hosts. The Brazilian had found a bit of space in the final third but Vidal ensured he would go no further by hauling him back.
It's been a bright start by the Italians but it's Fernandinho for the hosts who is nearly through a goal but is crowded out by the Bianconeri defence. He looks a tricky customer which the visitors will have to be aware of.
And it's Giovinco who tries to test the Shakhtar goalkeeper early on, he cut in from the right side - like he did so many times against Torino at the weekend but can't find Vucinic with the pass.
And the match is underway here at the Donbass Arena
Feel free to get in touch at half-time @CTTurnbull. I'll post the best comments! What have you made of the coverage? Do you think both sides will settle for a point? In the other group match Chelsea are leading Nordsjaelland by two goals to nil. Both teams have missed a penalty!
And for the visitors Juventus: Buffon, Chiellini, Barzagli, Bonucci, Lichtsteiner, Pogba, Pirlo, Asamoah, Vidal, Vucinic, Giovinco SUBS: Storari, Cáceres, Padoin, Giaccherini, Marrone, Quagliarella, Matri. Claudio Marchisio misses out for Juventus as he is suspended which gives young Frenchman Paul Pogba the opportunity. Sebastian Giovinco returns up front after his impressive second-half display against Torino on Saturday. Arturo Vidal, who missed the derby at the weekend returns.
First up the team news for the hosts Shakhtar Donetsk: Pyatov, Kucher, Rat, Rakitskiy, Stepanenko, Fernandinho, Willian, Alex Teixeira, Srna, Eduardo, Mkhitaryan SUBS: Kanibolotskiy, Kryvtsov, Kobin, Gai, Douglas Costa, Ilsinho, Devic. Luiz Adriano misses out for the hosts after picking up a ban following his controversial strike against Nordsjaelland which means former Arsenal striker Eduardo starts for Mircea Lucescu's men.
A quick reminder of the permutations for both sides. Shakhtar have already guaranteed a place in the last 16 no matter what the result here. However, to finish top they need to avoid defeat while Juventus need to win to finish top of the group and a draw to progress to the next round of the Champions League. It's all very exciting so don't miss a minute of the coverage tonight with Goal.com. Coming up next the teams news.
