The Siena goalkeeper dealt comfortably with nearly everything the away side threw at him, except for the goal. A solid display marred by that one moment.
A rather mediocre display from the 28-year-old, who struggled to cope with the home side when they pressed into Siena's territory.
C. Del Grosso
Sent in numerous crosses that Siena's impotent forwards failed to deal with due to some solid defending by Juve, and was better on the front foot than when asked to defend.
One of Seina's better defenders on the day who often ran forward in attempt to salvage something from the game. His foul at the end prevented a very good chance for the away side.
Like the rest of the defence, dealt rather well with the Juventus attack with the one exception of the goal. Unfortunately that incident came at the expense of any points for the home team.
A very energetic display from the new signing, but he blasted over his team's best chance of the match.
Siena's best player on the day. D'Agostino was to the home side what Pirlo was for Juventus, constantly driving the team forward. Deserved more from the match.
Anonymous throughout the match with the exception of his powerful challenge on Chiellini.
Had a great shot on goal moments after Juventus nearly grabbed a second through Vidal. Enjoyed a relatively stable game throughout.
Perhaps Siena's best attacker on the night but not a note of distinction. He nevertheless hit the bar and attempted to change the game for his side.
Like the rest of the Siena front line, failed to trouble the Juventus defence in any significant way, and was ultimately left frustrated.
Juventus recorded a clean sheet but the veteran goalie had little to do on the night. His late moment of dribbling madness could have ended badly, though, and he does not yet seem to be anywhere near his best.
One of the away side's best players on the night. His link-up with Giaccherini was one of Juventus' most potent weapons foraging forward.
Part of the rearguard that conceded almost nothing to Siena. A very assured 57 minutes from the Italian international.
Juventus' most influential centre-back on the night. Made an error in the 37th minute but immediately atoned and produced a number of great tackles.
Did an admirable job filling in for the suspended Paolo De Ceglie, although he was perhaps the most vulnerable of the defenders. Against a better side his play may have been exposed but he had one superb cross with which no one connected.
A solid if unexceptional performance from the midfielder apart from one slick dribble into the box.
His link-up with Lichtsteiner was quite notable and a weapon utilised often by the side. He needs to become more potent but he flashed in several dangerous crosses and was involved with Matri's goal.
Full of running, crosses, and crucial during the only goal of the match. By no means a world class performance but made a difference on the night.
The heartbeat of the side. Nearly every Juventus attack went through the World Cup winner and his service was crucial for the team.
One of Juventus' best players and the goalscorer who put the finishing touch to a wonderful team move.
Completely invisible. He has a reputation for being able to single-handedly win matches but that Vucinic was nowhere to be seen in this one.
- 25 G. Pegolo
- 6 Ângelo
- 80 M. Contini
One of Siena's first substitutes but failed to change the course of the game for Giuseppe Sannino's men.
- 36 F. Bolzoni
Came on in the 73rd minute and did little of note.
The No.9 came in for Gonzalez but was involved in more fouls than goalscoring opportunities. Perhaps the most disappointing of Siena's frontmen.
- 30 M. Storari
Came on for Chiellini early in the second half and ensured that his side would not concede away.
- 27 M. Krasić
His substitution helped to anchor the away side's midfield but his most memorable contribution was his awful miss at the end of the match.
- 17 E. Elia
- 18 F. Quagliarella
A. Del Piero
Came on very late in the match and had almost nothing to do.
