GOAL: Rennes 1-3 PSG - CAVANI! He seals the victory with his eighth goal in eight games. Fine bit of play, as he beats his marker and tucks it away into the bottom corner.
Into the first of two minutes of stoppage time at Stade de la Route de Lorient.
No sense of urgency from the Rennes players as Romero's delivery into the box is easily caught by Sirigu. They're being kept at arm's length, as the clock continues to tick.
CAvANI! He has the chance to put this game to bed, but the Urugayan's effort is well off target. Paris Saint-Germain really need to hold their own, now getting a bit sloppy.
PSG looking to close this game out, and are defending solidly. Rennes can't string two passes together in the opposition half, currently.
Gregory Van der Wiel reprimanded fora strong challenge on Romain Alessandrini, who cannot take advantage of the free-kick and provide a decent delivery into the box.
Yellow CardAnders Konradssen
YELLOW CARD/SUBSTUTION: No, in fact, Konradsen is booked for the challenge on Motta, and is promptly substituted by Rennes - on comes Sivio Romero.
Brief break in play here as Motta goes down clutching his ankle, but no booking by Stephane Lannoy. Rennes are making a substiution.
Still no sign of Silvio Romero, the Rennes forward sitting on the bench, and with Nelson Oliveira floundering in attack, you'd think it be the best opportunity to bring on fresh legs.
PSG aiming to recover their two goal lead as Lucas Digne makes a neat run on the left. Romain Danze tracking back to cover him, and successfully blocks the speculative cross out for a corner.
SUBSTITUTION - PSG: Adrien Rabiot replaces Ezequiel Lavezzi.
Yellow CardMarco Verratti
YELLOW CARD: Marco Verratti. The Italy midfielder is handed what I beliee is the first booking fo the game. Has lost a bit of concentration and discipline in this second half.
Cavani in an offside possession as he attempts to control the pace of Matuidi's pass. Rabiot warming up to come on.
SUBSTITUTION - Rennes: Jonathan Pitroipa comes off for Adrien Hunou.
OLIVEIRA! GOLDEN CHANCE! Verratti caught in the middle, and Rennes have the perfect chance to exploit the space behind the midfield. Oliveira has options left right and centre, and goes for Konradsen, who cannot get his strike way. Should've turned in on his left.
Chance here for Cavani! Beautiful pass played into the Uruguayan who attempts to negotiate a way past the goalkeeper, but Kana-Biyik on hand to deflect the ball away from goal.
The hosts now have something to play for in this second period. Alessandrini's goal has ensured some drama for the remaining 22 minutes. What can les Rouge et Noir conjure up here?
GOAL! Rennes 1-2 PSG: ROMAIN ALESSANDRINI! Fantastic free-kick, and the hosts have finally halved the deficit. Lovely dip, low powered effort from the winger and it's beaten Sirigu. GAME ON!
Controversial decision from the referee. Konradsen turns superbly, as the ball bounces up and on Motta's hand. Free-kick for the referee, and Alessandrini to take this one.
This game already has an air of finality towards it, with PSG content to sit and wait and then try and pick the holes in the Rennes defence. Lavezzi has the ball in the net, but chalked off.
Nelson Oliveira, who has been in and out of this game, attempts an effort from distance but Salvatore Sirigu claims the ball.
Philippe Montanier's men have not maintained their first half form, and haven't troubled Salvatore Sirigu at all. Testing times for the hosts, who are in disappointing form.
Meanwhile, Blaise Matuidi is a little unhappy with Thiago Motta, who in a jokey fashion, rustles the hair of the midfielder as he lay on the ground after being fouled. Matuidi gets up to push the Italy midfielder away, though all in jest I hope!
The Ibrahimovic juggernaut continues - that's his 14th league goal for PSG, and his fifth penalty. What a turnaround for PSG!
GOAL! Rennes 0-2 PSG: IBRAHIMOVIC! He tucks away the penalty with ease, sending Costil the wrong way. Even under the glare of the lasers, he tucks it away coolly.
Penalty GoalZlatan Ibrahimovic
PENALTY TO PSG: Stephane Lannoy has no hesitations about that, as Matuidi is upended by Houtoundji after Verratti supplies the pass with a beautiful Rabona pass.
LAVEZZI!! Good save by Costil. A lovely ball from Motta, into the path of the Argentine whpse shot is wonderfully blocked.
Foul on Lavezzi, outside the penaly area, and it was in a good position. Taken inexplicably quickly, and Rennes reclaim possession before Costil almost ruins a pass and allows PSG back in.
Foul on Bakayoko by Lavezzi, as Rennes attempt to settle into their rhythm. They've only one won of their last five games, losing three in the process.
Stade Rennais attacking from right to left in this half, and get us going for this second period. Can they recover from their deficit and return on level terms?
The sides are out for the second half.
HT: SRFC 0-1 PSG: At the break, PSG lead in a game which took a while to liven up. The hosts have had a lot of chances, but haven't tested Sirigu as of yet, whilst Motta's first half screamer remains the difference.
HALF-TIME: Stade Rennes 0-1 Paris Saint-Germain
Into stoppage time at Stade de la Route de Lorient.
Ibrahimovic gets the better of his marker, and after giving himself a bit of pace, picks out Digne on the left. The left-back provides the cross, but Houtondji makes amends.
KANA-BIYIK! How many chances are Rennes going to spurn? Alessandrini's corner is met by the centre-back, who loses a bit of balance, but his shot flies narrowly wide of Sirigu's goal.
Alessandrini capitalises on an error from Alex to run at the Brazilian, who recovers in time, but concedes the corner.
You'd think for Rennes to get anything out of this game, they'd have to score the next goal. Another corner to the hosts, from Alessandrini, but Makoun's effort goes over the bar.
Rennes on the back foot here. Van der Wiel picks up the ball on the right, under pressure from three players. Gets his cross away in the middle. Matuidi with the pass back into the box but Hountondji in the right place to clear.
Verratti gets a talking to from the referee, but PSG advance on the counter-attack. Ibrahimovic and Cavani again combine, but it is an unsuccessful attempt.
Alessandrini delivers in a long ball, coming in on his left - aiming to locate Nelson Oliveira, but Sirigu claims. Had other options, mind.
Montanier's men enjoying good spells on the left, as another venture through that channel is unsuccessful. They are in a position to score, nonetheless.
KANA-BIYIK! Headed wide. PSG look a tad suspect at the back. Corner once more delivered in well, as the defender rises highest, but on the bounce, it goes wide.
Bakayoko retrieves possession to allow Rennes to advance. Under pressure from Nelson Oliveira, it is cleared behind by Thiago Silva.
CAVANI! PSG turning on the style. Ibrahimovic in the mix, as Cavani picks up the ball ready to shoot. Loses his composure, and footing, as the ball trickles towards Costil. Could've been 2-0.
Free-kick Rennes. Taken by Alessandrini, but it poses no trouble for Salvatore Sirigu. And PSG counter up the other end. Cavani, towards Ibrahimovic - but Costil claims.
CAVANI! Blocked. Another chance that comes PSG's way. Danze caught out in possession and Verratti lofts the ball over towards the Uruguayan, who turns but cannot get his effort past Emerson.
Lucas Digne holds of his marker as Lavezzi goes down. Advantage PSG, with Cavani making a neat run in the middle, but it is deflected behind for a corner by Romain Danze.
Lavezzi seeing much of the ball now, dropping deeper to beat Houtoundji and provide a through ball for Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who gets ready to shoot......but it is offside!
Rennes haven't offered something of note in attack yet, as PSG begin to turn up the heat in midfield. Very dominating in midfield, and not many teams get the better of them, especially after taking the lead.
Despite playing nowhere near their best, PSG take the lead through Motta! A fine goal after a corner routine went wrong. Alessandrini easily dispossessed, and Motta with the fine finish!
GOAL! Rennes 0-1 PSG: Thiago MOTTA! What a goal from the influential midfielder. Justice done after PSG lost the penalty appeal. Alessandrini robbed of the ball by the Italy midfielder, and he rockets one into the top corner. Fantastic.
PENALTY? No! Stephane Lannoy awards a corner instead. Lavezzi arries into the box as Emerson upends the player. It's a clear penalty, with the player not getting anything of the ball.
Beginning to open up here as Oliveira tees up Emerson arriving on the left. Attempts a delivery with his left foot, but it is charged down by Gregory van der Wiel for a corner.
Pitroipa, the Burkina Faso international, has started the game well, utilising his burst of pace to really run at the Parisien defence. Has already gotten the better of Thiago Silva.
Rennes have a corner here after the delivery from the left is charged down. Taken by Alessandrini, it is a threatening cross which is eventually cleared.
Neither team has really got going yet, with both teams content to sit in their respective halves, and try to start from defence, and maintaining possession.
Romain Alessandrini - the tricky Rennes winger who starred last season - attempts a delivery from the left-hand side, but it is well dealt with by Salvatore Sirigu.
Motta still hasn't lost a game he's played in since the UEFA Euro 2012 final on July 1, 2012. Testament to his importance to both club and country, as he again initiates a chance from midfield.
PITROIPA! A half-chance for Rennes, as the Burkinabe winger causes all sorts of problems. Gets the better of Thiago Silva and blasts his way into the box. Takes an extra touch, and loses a bit of composure before the ball is cleared.
IBRAHIMOVIC! Narrowly wide. Fair bit of tension from Benoit Costil, but the free-kick pierces through the wall - straight through the middle - before flying narrowly wide.
Lavezzi goes down under the challenge of the defender, and PSG are rewarded a free-kick from a reasonable distance. Ibrahimovic over it, and having scored last week from a free-kick, well......
A rather slow start to proceedings as Alessandrini attempts to penetrate the Parisien defence. Verratti now on the ball as Motta latches onto cotrol and sends a long ball forward, which Costil eventually regains.
Motta powers forward in the middle, attempting to tee up Digne on his left, but Rennes maintain possession and start from the back. Keeping the ball gently with Bakayoko and Danze combining.
Philippe Montanier's side have started slowly, and will be hoping to reverse their inconsistency recently. The former Real Sociedad boss nevertheless, has time on his hands with Rennes in 12th, and could go ninth with a win.
UNDERWAY IN RENNES! The hosts get us going at Stade de la Route de Lorient (or Lorient Road Stadium, if you prefer!). PSG kicking from right to left in their change strip of all white.
PSG have a Champions League draw to look forward to on Monday after finishing top in Group C. They could face Arsenal FC or AC Milan - then again, it could also be Zenit Saint-Petersburg. Anticipation!
This afternoon's referee is Stephane Lannoy.
The sides are coming out in Brittany, as PSG look to extend their lead at the top ahead of the winter break which commences after PSG tackle challengers Lille next weekend.

Stade Rennais: Costil - Danze, Kana-Biyik, Hountondji, Emerson - Makoun, Bakayoko, Konradsen - Pitroipa, Oliveira, Alessandrini.
CONFIRMED TEAM NEWS:
Rennes recorded a stunning 2-1 victory at PSG last season, despite playing with just nine men in what was one of the most remarkable games of the Ligue 1 season. Can they emulate that today?
Meanwhile, Rennes will be hoping to spring a shock at home to recover from their own indifferent form. Philippe Montanier's side lie in 12th place, but could enter the top half with victory.
The Ligue 1 champions are back in action hoping to recover from their defeat away to Benfica in the Champions League in midweek. Laurent Blanc's men will be hoping to consolidate their position at the top.
Good afternoon and welcome to live commentary of the Ligue 1 clash between Stade Rennais and Paris Saint-Germain from Stade de la Route de Lorient.
