The Spain international was hardly tested all day. Saved comfortably from Reyes' weak effort and watched as Navas and Negredo blazed over. An easy 90 minutes for the keeper.
Despite facing a tricky opponent in Navas he was still only interested in attacking and left his team exposed to the counterattack. Sevilla had three chances in five minutes but failed to finish any, fortunately for the Brazilian.
Weak in the air and was all over the place as Sevilla created a flurry of chances before the half-hour mark. Beaten all to easily by Negredo early in the second but the striker's effort was similarly poor.
Looked solid defensively and helped stretch the play with occasional forays forward. Showed that he is far more reliable than his team-mate on the other side of the back four.
Failed to compensate for Marcelo's attacks and gave the Sevilla forwards far too much space in the first half. Redeemed himself going forwards and provided a great cross for Benzema's second.
Pushed forward a bit too much which, coupled with Marcelo's incessant attacking, contributed to his side's vulnerability on the break. Was brought off early due to earning a yellow card.
Kept the game flowing as he operated as the middle man between the flanks but could possibly have tried better to cover for Marcelo's runs. Otherwise, a faultless performance from the midfielder.
Made some excellent passes and penetrating runs as he sought to unlock the Sevilla defence. Proved why he is picked ahead of Kaka and was unlucky not to get a goal himself.
Á. di María
Made some good runs in the first half but contributed fairly little to their best opportunities. Stepped up in the second with a telling pass for the game's second goal and ultimately looked far more lively.
Always looking to break forward and take on his man and opened the scoring with a great finish in the 19th minute. He then rattled the post in the 36th and could have won his side a number of penalties in a ferocious performance.
The Frenchman has matured greatly this season and after a typically hard-working first half he was rewarded when he poked in from Di Maria's pass in the 48th minute. Added his second moments later with a back-post header.
At times the keeper was very complacent as he kept the ball far too close to Madrid's forwards. He made two good saves from Benzema and Marcelo shortly before the break but was beaten twice by the Frenchman moments after the restart.
The left-back was caught out of position a number of times and was beaten far too easily by Arbeloa. He failed to recover and had a fairly torrid game against the talented Madrid attackers.
Could have conceded a penalty in the eighth minute which set the tone for his afternoon. Continually beaten by the Madrid players as they scythed through the Sevilla defence.
Started well and and looked a real aerial threat going forwards but a high foot on Ronaldo offered Madrid a chance to score from an indirect free kick before the break. The Portuguese hit the post but the afternoon remained fairly uncomfortable for the defender.
Went to ground in the area on the first goal, allowing Ronaldo to pick out the corner. He was then caught ball watching when Benzema added the second and was again out of position as the Frenchmen nodded in his second on the counterattack.
An invisible display in midfield. With Trochowski taking the playmaking role from deep, he failed to track Ozil throughout the match and contributed very little to his team.
Won his side a number of useful free kicks early on with his direct running but wasted a great opportunity to level the game in the 27th minute. Never really recovered from that as chances to attack were limited in the second half.
Got back to help in defence and made some key interceptions but offered very little for his side going forwards. Was forced into more defensive duties as the game continued.
José Antonio Reyes
He looked like a player extremely low on confidence after an awful attempt in the 25th minute. Played a great ball to set up Navas two minutes later but only showed short flashes of his talent throughout.
Played the simple passes from deep as he looked to launch his side on the counterattack. He got forward more early on and was instrumental in Sevilla's best spell but went missing after the break.
After some early knocks he got in some good positions. Wasted his best chance by trying to chip Casillas inside 30 minutes and could do little to alter the score in the second half.
- 13 Adán
Had little to do in the final 15 minutes but will have been pleased to get some time in the first team.
- 15 Fábio Coentrão
- 8 Kaká
Kept things tight in the midfield as Sevilla had their backs to the wall in the closing stages.
- 20 G. Higuaín
Played about 30 minutes of football but struggled to make an impact on the game in place of Di Maria.
- 32 Julián
- 19 Luna
Played just under 20 minutes as Michel sought to close up shop. Sevilla did not concede again after his introduction.
- 17 T. Guarente
Was brought on in the 64th minute but did not leave a mark on the match with his performance.
- 24 T. De Mul
Failed to make the most of his only chance in the closing stages as he struggled to make an impact on the game.
