The final whistle blows on another convincing win for Real Madrid at home as they rub salt into the wounds of their relegation-threatened city rivals. Cristiano Ronaldo was in superb goalscoring form, netting a hat-trick, even if not everything always came off for the £80m man. Xabi and Ozil were also brilliant, sharing three assists between them. Barcelona will have to wait to celebrate their impending La Liga title. Thanks for joining us. Until next time, Adios.

Penalty Goal Cristiano Ronaldo

GOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL MADRID! Ronaldo has another!! And in style! His hat-trick is complete and he is now five clear of Messi in the race for the Pichichi. No power, just finesse as he chips the ball down the middle à la Panenka with Ustari already committed to a dive to his left.
90' + 1'
PENALTY MADRID! Ronaldo is felled inside the penalty box by Mane, leaving the referee no other option but to point to the spot. Guess who is taking it...
We are now into three minutes of stoppage time with Madrid coasting to a derby win and perhaps helping to condemn Getafe to relegation.
ADEBAYOR WIDE! It looks at first glance a real sitter at the back post as Adebayor slices the shot wide, however, in his defence, Ronaldo did get a slight touch to a terrific low ball across the penalty box between goalkeeper and defence by Karim Benzema.
OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH XABI ALONSO! That would have been a deserved goal! The space opened up for the midfielder and he unleashes a fizzing drive, which is heading for the top corner before Ustari's outstreteched right hand tips the ball over the crossbar. A superb save from a terrific shot.
This time, Di Maria is somehow penalised for straying into an offside position but there were two or three players between him and the goal, added to Ustari. A poor night all round for the linesmen.
Ronaldo punches the ball into the ground in frustration! Another sublime pass from Xabi Alonso releases Adebayor, who is in an unselfish mood tonight. He squares the ball for Ronaldo at the back post who looks to sneak the ball past Ustari into the near corner but the Argentine stopper stretches out a hand and tips the shot around the post.
Another highly questionable offside call from the assistant referee as Colunga looked to be level with the last defender. Both sides have reason to feel aggrieved by some of the decisions from the man on the sideline.
Carvalho sends Escassi tumbling to the floor but though the winger stays down, it was a fair challenge and no free-kick was given. Getafe then win a free-kick after a niggly foul from Lass.
A big moment for Tomas Mejias who makes his senior debut as he comes on for Adan for the final seven minutes plus stoppage time. The young 3rd choice has acquitted himself well this evening, being notably decisive in coming off his line and sweeping away any danger. His bravery will also go down well with the home fans.
A game of pinball breaks out inside the Getafe box as Di Maria's cutback is not picked up. Benzema's persistence finds Adebayor, whose effort is blocked and eventually cleared after a moment's hesitation.
Yellow Card Lassana Diarra
Sardinero cannot be accused of a lack of ambition but most certainly of a lack of accuracy as his left-footed piledriver from a tight angle from distance is closer to going out for a throw than it is to troubling Adan, who looks to be coming off as Mejias is taking off his training kit.
Good vision from Adebayor who strokes the ball to Benzema. He then returns the ball from whence it came but Adebayor was unable to latch on. Di Maria then has a shot, which is high and wide from the former Benfica man.
Di Maria does well to pick out Adebayor in the box. Adebayor decides not to shoot first-time, takes a touch and clumsily squares it to Ronaldo, whose effort takes a deflection and spins behind for a corner. Ustari comes for the ball, punches it behind him as he falls over and it is cleared upfield by a defender.
It's impossible to overstate just how majestic a ball that was from Xabi Alonso who judged the pace and the trajectory to perfection. He might have struggled a little in the series of Clasicos but he showed exactly what he was about with that moment of magic. Three excellent assists tonight for all three goals.
Assist Xabi Alonso
Goal Karim Benzema
GOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL MADRID!!! THE BENZ BACK IN ACTION! No sooner does he come on does Karim Benzema net his 13th goal of the campaign but all the credit must go to Xabi Alonso! A delightful ball into the box, drilled with his right-foot, finding the diagonal run infield from Benzema, who fires past Ustari!
A double change from Mourinho as a slightly dejected looking Gonzalo Higuain makes way for Karim Benzema and Emmaunel Adebayor replaces Mesut Ozil, who never sees out the full 90 minutes! Two assists tonight for the German - another top notch display.
Yellow Card Mané
Speaking of Mane, he receives a booking for a trip on Di Maria, who this time did not go down easily. Superb play from the winger, who went one side then the other and had the former Almeria man tied in knots.
Ronaldo now pops up over on the left and looks to float the ball into Ozil in the box but he fails to find the former Bremen star as again it is underhit. Ozil shows Ronaldo how to do it as he picks out the £80m man who instead of shooting, tries to play in Higuain but it's another errant pass.
Arbeloa has done well tonight in limiting the threat of Mane without ever looking for the limelight. He goes about his business in a calm manner and rarely looks unruffled. Easy to see why Mourinho can rely on him.
Another change for Getafe as Dani Parejo is sacrificed for Borja, yet another player who once plied his trade for Real Madrid. Parejo has given the ball away a lot and made a lot of errors in among the occasional clever run and pass.
Another Getafe attack breaks down as the final ball lacks conviction. Madrid counter with Di Maria, now through the middle. He finds Ronaldo on the right but his cross is headed away before Ozil, on the left of the three, reveals his hand too obviously and Boateng is able to make the interception.
Yellow Card D. Boateng
Xabi Alonso receives a nasty challenge by Boateng who rakes his studs down the instep of the Basque midfielder. Benzema is warming up for the hosts on the touchline.
Another disappointing final ball from Ronaldo on the right, which fails to pick out a team-mate. That said, the interchangeability of the midfield three has been superb and has really confounded Getafe. Ozil has the Geta defence on tenterhooks with a direct run but the through ball agonisingly eludes Higuain.
Ronaldo drops into space on the right but for once he underhits the ball, in contrast to some of his earlier efforts. Higuain was never going to get there before Mario, who makes an agricultural clearance.
Miguel Torres displays good vision to slide the ball down the right-hand side to Mosquera, who holds it up and returns possession to Boateng as no better opportunity arose however, the Ghana international rather meekly surrendered possession.
Casquero is hauled off after missing that glorious chance and he is replaced by a former Madrid man in Mosquera.
Ronaldo takes the ball down before switching the ball to the other side of the pitch with a quite magnificent ball towards Di Maria. The Argentine then picks out Higuain, who can't do anything with the cross. He has been below his best again this evening.
Marcelo swings the ball in to the area with his left peg, which Diaz volleys clear and behind for a corner to be taken by Di Maria. His delivery is cleared at the near post. It comes back to him and he beats Parejo with ease though his cross is cleared. Xabi then gives away a free-kick for what sems a very soft foul.
Yellow Card Ricardo Carvalho
Colunga drives infield before picking out Parejo with the outside of his right boot. He does superbly to cut the ball back to Casquero but the midfielder scuffs his shot completely and it goes well wide of the target. A real chance squandered to get back into the game. Unfathomable how he missed it by so much.
Assist Mesut Özil
Goal Cristiano Ronaldo
GOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL MADRID! Cristiano Ronaldo overtakes Ferenc Puskas as the club's top goalscorer in a league season! A selfless piece of play from Ozil, who squared the ball to Ronaldo and he tapped the ball home into an unguarded goal after Higuain had forced Ustari to spill the ball as Madrid tore the Getafe defence open.
Xabi Alonso turns on a sixpence and attempts to find Higuain inside the box but Mario cuts the ball out otherwise it was panic stations for the visitors, who would have been caught.
Happily, we can report that Adan is back on his feet and will be able to continue playing. He does though buy himself a few more seconds as he permits Pepe to take the long free-kick upfield.
A painful clash between Colunga and Adan sees the Madrid goalkeeper come off worse. Arizmendi's through ball split the Madrid defence and Colunga ran in behind. It was a 50-50 ball between the striker (who was offside but not given) and the goalkeeper, who was caught in the chest by the knee of Colunga. Mejias, the sub goalkeeper, is warming up.
Ronaldo steps up, strikes the ball front on and curls it narrowly wide of the post although Ustari was well across and may well have had it covered. Still, a better effort than Ozil's and one, which should give him free-kick taking rights for the remainder of the evening!
Ronaldo may get his chance at a free-kick now after Derek Boateng's petulant and needless hand-ball just outside the area. Ronaldo is taking charge of this one in a central position as a couple of Getafe players continue to dispute the decision and the position of the wall.
Ronaldo works up a head of steam but he was unable to find the ideal angle to pick out Higuain. At the other end, Colunga goes down in the box and appeals for a penalty but in truth it was commanding defending from Pepe, who read the ball and the run and used his power and strength to dispossess the striker.
The ball is floated into the area by Diarra but it is headed away by Diaz. Marcelo picks up the loose ball and drives forward towards the box however, he is stopped in his tracks by Casquero, who does very well against the full-back.
Adan has to be alert there to come out and clear the loose ball to prevent it ricocheting into the path of a Getafe player.
Welcome back for the second-half. Madrid have begun well, almost managing a second after good work from Marcelo and Cristiano Ronaldo.
The referee blows for half-time and Madrid go into the break with a 1-0 lead. They have certainly been the better side and scored a terrific goal via the head of Ronaldo although Getafe had their moments, particularly towards the end of the opening 45. Join us shortly for the second half.
OHHHHHHHH Chance for Getafe! Colunga's bullet header was blocked by a Madrid defender after an excellent ball into the box from Parejo on his right foot. Colunga has a second bite at the cherry but the ball ricochets wide with Adan leaden footed.
Mane strikes the free-kick into the wall, having been teed up by Colunga. Lass then gives away another free-kick after he pulls back Parejo over near the goal-line on the left flank.
Boateng telegraphs his intentions a little too long before sliding the ball out to the right-hand side and Parejo but Getafe still win the corner after Marcelo slides in. Madrid deal with the ball in initially before Carvalho is booked for a high foot as he tries to block a shot from distance.
Mane benefits from Madrid trying to be a little too intricate before he slides the ball down the line for Arizmendi, who is rather harshly flagged for offside. In any case, Lass had made a firm sliding challenge to avert the danger.
Colunga picks the ball up on the inside right channel from Miguel Torres and he half shows Carvalho the ball before taking it away from him and shooting on goal from a tight angle ; unsurprisingly the effort goes wide of the near post.
Ronaldo goes close with another header! This time, it is Di Maria who picks him out with a delicious outswinging cross from the left but Ronaldo just gets a little too much underneath the ball and heads over the crossbar.
Lovely idea from Madrid as Ronaldo pings the ball first-time into the centre but Marcelo, who came infield, is just unable to reach it in time. Certainly a ploy, which surprised Getafe and perhaps deserved better, as indicated by Marcelo's disappointment.
Cata and Boateng almost get themselves in real trouble with a pair of loose passes, which forces Getafe back into their own half. They recover to take the ball forward once more however, they are unable to make headway past an organised Madrid backline.
The ball somewhat fortunately ricohets to Colunga over on the left. The lone forward comes inside and gets the shot away but it is a weak effort, which dribbles almost apologetically into the hands of Adan.
Mane is caught by Lassana Diarra, who is just a little too eager to snap at the full-back's heels and win the ball. From the free-kick Lass blocks Mane's attempted cross but the Getafe man gets it back and plays in Parejo. However, Arbeloa does very well, using his strength and leaning into Parejo fairly, forcing the playmaker to lose control of the ball. Goal-kick Madrid.
Getafe almost catch Madrid on the hop with a quickly-taken free-kick but despite his best efforts, Colunga cannot quite reach it and the ball skips through to Adan.
Parejo's corner is headed away and yet again Madrid look to catch Getafe on the counter. On this occasion, Ozil makes the run into deep areas but he is correctly flagged for offside, although it was tight and he was just about inside the opponents' half.
Marcelo shows his quality at the other end of the pitch with a timely tackle to stop Arizmendi's run. His positioning is then a bit lax after the throw by Xabi Alonso is across to make another timely interception before Getafe win a corner off Marcelo.
The ball in from Di Maria is headed back across goal towards Ozil, who fires the left-footed strike away but it hits Boateng and goes behind for another corner, from which Ronaldo shoots wide. Sustained pressure this from Madrid.
Ozil looks to shuffle past Casquero, who leaves his leg in and trips the German. From the free-kick, Marcelo loses his balance at the wrong moment when he looks to find Higuain in the centre but he still manages to win a corner.
No nonsense from Pepe who is across to cover the run of Arizmendi, who looked to latch on to Parejo's through pass, and the Portuguese defender drills the ball behind for a corner kick with Adan half out of his goal.
That is a very significant goal, not just in the relegation battle but also in the Pichichi as Ronaldo moves further clear of Messi in the quest to be named the top goalscorer in La Liga.
Assist Mesut Özil
Goal Cristiano Ronaldo
GOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL MADRID!!!! RONALDO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Portuguese magician has done it again and this time he shows off his underrated aerial prowess! Moments after Di Maria was denied, Ronaldo gets his 34th of the season with a superb header beyond Ustari from Ozil's floated cross to the back post. Ronaldo still had to put a good deal of power on it, which he did, as well as finding the corner beyond Ustari's despairing dive.
Parejo finds enough space before working the ball skilfully to Arizmendi on the right. He fires the ball into the centre, where it is headed away from danger by Pepe.
There is an end to end feeling about the game in the last couple of minutes with both sides just doing enough when the other looks to have fashioned a goalscoring opportunity.
Higuain almost finds the way through the eye of a needle - worming his way between two defenders but just when he looked to have beaten Diaz, the other centre-half Mario puts a foot in and makes a vital interception, and the ball trickles back to Ustari.
Di Maria again pops up on the left but this time opts to cross. His effort lacks power and is easily picked up by Diaz in the centre of the box and he can make the clearance. Getafe incapable of holding the ball up at the moment, which is costing them.
Big chance for Madrid! Di Maria comes inside off the left flank and into the penalty box before unleashing a fierce right footed shot. The shot is deflected behind and the subsequent corner from Xabi Alonso is cleared with ease.
Getafe look to counter but Arizmendi's pass to Mane is too short and Ronaldo, of all people, cuts it out and Getafe have a throw down the left. Arbeloa does well and he plays the ball off the attacker to win it back for his side.
Ozil again comes down this left and this time he runs at the defence and slides the ball into the centre, where it is cut out. Madrid having the better of the game but next time around, Di Maria's attempted 1-2 with Higuain does not come off.
Di Maria plays a gorgeous through ball across field to Ozil, who takes it down and retains possession. Nice triangles from Real before Lass loses out in midfild. To his credit, he chases Arizmendi back and wins the ball again for his team. Ronaldo is then fouled down the left, handing Real a free-kick. Cata Diaz is not the happiest to say the least!
Ozil is there with his left foot and indeed takes it instead of Ronaldo, who was stationed a little further back but the German international can only find the wall.
Real Madrid have a free-kick in a dangerous position centrally after Ronaldo was hauled to the ground and then for good measure, Higuain's progress was also halted illegally.
More like it from Real Madrid. Marcelo manages to get the cross into the penalty area from the left-hand side but it's just too far in front of Higuain, who was always stretching and his header ricochets well wide of the goal.
Real Madrid, as expected, having the lion's share of the possession early on but on their maiden venture into the Getafe half, they're unable to fashion a real chance as a pass from Ozil goes astray.
An early foul from Sardinero on Pepe gives Real a free-kick inside their own third. Jose Mourinho, with a short back and sides, is back on the Real Madrid bench.
We are underway a little late after a short piece of music to commemorate the tragic death of Seve Ballesteros, one of the finest golfers to grace the game.
Getafe: Ustari ; Miguel Torres, Diaz, Mario, Mane ; Boateng, Casquero ; Sardinero, Parejo, Arizmendi ; Colunga. Substitutes: Miku, Borja, Pintos, Mosquera, Escassi, Kas.

Good evening and welcome to Goal.com's live commentary of the La Liga clash between city rivals Real Madrid and Getafe at the Santiago Bernabeu. The hosts need to win to delay Barcelona's title celebrations for at least 24 hours. They come up against perhaps an even more motivated side in Getafe, who are battling relegation and have one of the worst records in La Liga since the winter break.
